The Chief Led The Way As They Left The Hut
The chief led the way as they left the hut. They passed through the doorway, and the outside light
blinded Daniel. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but when they did, Daniel could see
many huts like the one he was just in. the tribe had placed the huts in a wide circle, surrounding a
large fire pit made of stone. They dragged Daniel a few feet away, past the fire pit to a large wooden
pillar which stuck straight out of the ground. As Daniel got closer, he noticed a lifeless figure tied up
on the pillar. It was Captain Jack Hughes of flight Dreamhail. His body lied there motionless,
stained dry with blood. Daniel couldn't believe that his former captain had been killed and for what
reason? The men dragged Daniel to the former captain, throwing him unto the ground before the
lifeless body. The chief approached the captain with a large knife, and Daniel watched as the captain
was then decapitated. The chief then threw his head to the ground, causing it to roll right in front of
Daniel. Daniel was horrified, and was now breaking out in tears. "So this is what happened to you,
huh captain? These people... they have killed you and will now probably do the same to me," He
said. The chief proceeded to cut the restraints off from the captain's lifeless body, which then
dropped to the ground in one loud thud. Daniel couldn't believe what was happening. A bubbling
anger rose in Daniel, and he began to scream with all his energy, "You savages! Why... Why did you

Daniel's Death Thesis
E.L. Doctorow's The Book of Daniel is centered around Daniel Isaacson, a doctoral student whose
thesis aims to discover the truth behind his parents' death. Paul and Rochelle Isaacson were tried,
convicted, and executed for conspiracy to commit espionage when Daniel and his sister, Susan, were
still children. Their death, as well as their reputation, left behind deep scars in both their children,
scars that manifest themselves in different ways, but that nevertheless disturb and upset their lives.
Daniel, wanting to make sense of these scars, sets out to document a past that leads to his mother
and father's execution. But, as the German philosopher and critic, Walter Benjamin declares, "there
is no document of civilization which is not at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doctorow links––by way of structure and word choice––the "ritual" involving the grandmother's
pennies to the ritual of drawing and quartering. The section on this form of execution, appearing
almost directly after the grandmother's story, describes in explicit detail how a criminal was slowly
tortured until "the final act of the ritual was then performed, a hacking of the body into four parts,
the quarters then being thrown to the dogs" (73–4). This savage tradition marks a rather dark period
in English history, and though it has been discontinued, its brutality can still be found in countless
other societies. Further along in the novel, Daniel describes the barbarism of other civilizations' past
torture techniques, all committed in the name of justice. He includes the practice of Japanese
smoking, Russian knouting, burning at the stake that infected both Europe and America, and finally
electrocution, the mode of execution to which Paul and Rochelle were condemned. Though the
method of the punishment changes over time and place, the brutality remains. It remains, even in
twentieth century, even in the United States, because it cannot be wiped from history's memory, just
as his own brutal past cannot be wiped from Daniel's

The Empire Of The Persian Empire
Achaemenid Persia was one of the first and greatest empires of the Fertile Crescent and beyond, as
such, they would come into contact with diverse groups of people, one of which is the Jews of
Judea. The Persian Empire is one of the few empires depicted in the Tanach, or Hebrew Bible, as
favorable. This being so, it can still be difficult to assert who the Persians, their kings, and their land
were in the eyes of the Jews. The stories and depictions of the kings and land do not always agree on
the matter and differ on how much detail is given. Persians during the time they ruled Judea have
few records of who the Jews were and what they did in the borders of the empire. From what is
found, it is still possible to gleam whom the Jews and their land were in the eyes of the kings of
Persia.
The depiction of Persia, namely that of the Achaemenid dynasty, has largely been favorable in the
Tanach. They are presented in the Books of Esther, Daniel, Ezra/Nehemiah, Chronicles, and Isaiah
as agents of G–d to preserve the nation of Israel. Yet despite on this commonality they differ on the
details. The Book of Esther tells the story of a Jewish girl named Esther and the possibility of the
genocide of the Jews. The Book of Daniel tells the story of the rise to power of the Medes and
Persians against the Babylonians. The Book of Ezra/Nehemiah tells of how Cyrus the Great was
benevolent and permitted the Jews to return to the Land of Israel to rebuild their destroyed temple.

Reflection Of Daniel
Named after the book's writer, Daniel can be described as a book with two halves. The first six
chapters of the book are narratives. In these chapters, Daniel writes about his life in captivity and
how he and his three friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah are chosen to serve in king
Nebuchadnezzar's palace. Daniel and his friends decide that they will be faithful in obedience to
God, and are blessed with knowledge and skills in return. Daniel is given the ability to understand
and interpret all visions and dreams. The second half, chapters seven through twelve, are prophetic
and include apocalyptic material. Throughout the book, Daniel is faithful and God rewards Daniel

After king Nebuchadnezzar kills all of the wise men in anger, Daniel explains the dream.
Nebuchadnezzar is pleased with Daniel and promotes him to the chief administrator over all the
wise men (2:48). His three friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, now named Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abed–Nego, are also given positions of authority. Soon after this, king Nebuchadnezzar builds a
gold statue of himself and signs a decree for everyone to bow down and worship this image. It
would be easy for Daniel and his friends to simply comply with the decree and bow down, but they
remain faithful to the Lord and refuse to partake in these practices. When Nebuchadnezzar heard
that Shadrach, Meshach and Abed–Nego did not bow down to his golden image, he becomes
furious. He commands to have them thrown into the fiery furnace (3:15), and orders it to be heated
seven times the usual temperature (3:19). But God preserves them in the furnace and delivers them
unharmed out of the fire. God remains faithful in protecting His children and Nebuchadnezzar sees
the power of God and praises him (3:28). But Nebuchadnezzar soon returns to his ways of paganism
and God disciplines him by taking away his kingdom and giving it to his son Belshazzar. In
addition, Nebuchadnezzar is made to live as a beast in the fields (4:31–33). After living in the fields,
Nebuchadnezzar is given back his kingdom and his power and both he and

Jerusalem to overtake the city (1:1). Nebuchadnezzar has some of the children of Israel, along with
the Nobles brought to him to select the best ones to work for him. Only the best looking and most
intelligent young men were chosen. Daniel and his three friends were chosen to be trained for three
years and were appointed a daily provision of the king's food and wine. But Daniel did not want to
defile himself with the king's provisions (1:8). Daniel, wanting to remain faithful to God, proposed a

Old Testament Apocalyptic By Daniel. Daniel
O SU_ MIN7010 W7–A2 Old Testament Apocalyptic Assignment 2: Old Testament Apocalyptic
One of the writers of the Old Testament that is often spoken as an apocalyptic writer and that is
Daniel. Daniel is depicted as an apocalyptic writer because in the Hebrew Bible, Daniel had dreams
and visions which also involved angelic intermediaries Daniel 's writings also involve a
comprehensive view of prophetic history. This prophetic history begins with a young Jewish exile
around the 600BC –586 who had experienced persecution, and intimidation, but once in Babylon
impressed the leaders with his intellect and good perception. Daniel interpreted King
Nebuchadnezzar 's (the king of Babylon) dream (Daniel 2:31–33)." A single great: statue; that statue
which was large and of extraordinary splendor, was standing in front of you, and its appearance was
awesome. The head of that statue was made of fine gold, its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of
bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You continued looking until a stone
was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet iron any clay and crushed them. Then
the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed all at the same time and became
like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of
them found. But the stone that struck the statue" became a great mountain and filled the whole
earth"(2:34–35)".

Apocalypto By Claudio Carvalho
"In the Maya civilization, a peaceful tribe is brutally attacked by warriors seeking slaves and human
beings for sacrifice for their gods. Jaguar Paw hides his pregnant wife and his son in a deep hole
nearby their tribe and is captured while fighting with his people. An eclipse spares his life from the
sacrifice and later he has to fight to survive and save his beloved family." Written by Claudio
Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This 2006 thriller from the mind of Mel Gibson depicts the end or
terrible violence of a Maya tribe. It is fitting that the title is "Apocalypto" which is a Yucatec Maya
dialect. However, the name coincides with the text which is the Apocalypse. Dr. Buck shares that the
word 'Apocalypse or Apocalyptic' is "Apocalyptic is tied in with the words 'eschatological' and
'eschatology,' which have to do with the end of world/end of time with God working things together
according to His plan." In keeping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not bowing to the kings' golden image is what placed them in the furnace. However, when thrown
into the furnace, tied up and bound, the king was astonished. As he looked in the furnace, he noticed
not only were they untied, but a fourth figure was walking around with them. Many scholars and
bible students see this fourth figure as Christ manifested with the three. Calvin and Myers cites:
Nebuchadnezzar calls him a son of God; not because he thought him to be Christ, but according to
the common opinion among all people, that angels are sons of God since a certain divinity is
resplendent in them; and hence they call angels generally sons of God. According to this usual
custom, Nebuchadnezzar says, the fourth man is like a son of a god. For he could not recognize the
only–begotten Son of God since, as we have already seen, he was blinded by so many depraved

Explain The Four Kingdoms In The Book Of Daniel
Discussion Board 1 In the Book of Daniel the 7th chapter it is record that Daniel mentioned four
great kingdoms. The four great kingdoms that Daniel mentioned are Babylon, Medo–Persia, Greece,
and Rome. Daniel stated in detail that these four kingdoms would come out the earth. "The
Babylonian, Persian, Greek, and Roman empires were all different in size, power, and in many other
ways." It is noted that Daniel use animal symbols to describe these four kingdoms. First, the
Babylonia kingdom is represented by a lion that had wings like an eagle in which stood like a man
on its two feet. It is imperative to state, "The lion's wings being torn off speaks of the king's insanity
and loss of power; standing on two feet like a man and receiving a human heart (mind) denotes
Nebuchadnezzar's humanitarian rule after his insanity; and the lion being "lifted up from the
ground" indicates that it was God who raised the king to his place of honor." Secondly, the Medo–
Persia kingdom is represented by a bear that had three ribs in its mouth, and it was commanded to
devour all flesh. This command that was given means that this empire will conqueror other empires.
Thirdly, the Greek Empire was represented by a leopard with four wings and four heads. The Greek

How does the book of Daniel relate to Revelation? How is John using the imagery of Daniel?
The book of Daniel and the Revelation are counterparts of each other. They should be studied
together as to get the whole picture of God's redemptive plan, world's history, the future of the
world, God's victory over evil at the end of the world, and a glimpse into the new heaven and the
new earth. Even if these two books are different, many parts of the books talk about the same event
of world's history in which we are about to find out. In this essay, I will show how the book of
Daniel is related to Revelation and then how John uses the imagery of Daniel. First of all, let us look

So what does the 'sea' or 'water' prophetically represent? Revelation 17:15 shows that 'waters'
represent 'peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues'. With this clue, we know that these beasts in
both Daniel and Revelation came up from the densely populated area. What about the beasts? What
do they represent? Daniel 7:17,23 clearly shows that 'beasts' represents 'kings or kingdoms' so we
can apply this to both Daniel and Revelation. Without relating Daniel to Revelation and vice versa,
the interpretation of these books could be problematic and they could be misinterpreted.
Second, the books of Daniel and Revelation contain prophecies that point to the same event. Many
Biblical scholars approach the interpretation of the books of Daniel and Revelation differently
(Nelson 1982). For the book of Daniel, the majority of scholars share similar interpretation. This is
because interpretations of dream or vision are included in the book. As for the book of Revelation, it
contains various symbolic things and beings but there is not much interpretation for dreams or
visions included in it. That is why there are several approaches to interpret Revelation in Christian
community. Because of several approaches, I would like to focus only to the approach that is held
by the majority of Seventh–day Adventists such as Uriah Smith and Ellen G. White who showed
strong and clear connection between the books of Daniel and Revelation. Seventh–day Adventist

The Exilic Thesis: An Analysis
For many years the book of Daniel has provided Christians, and particularly Adventists with a
fascinating narrative of the Jewish exile and visions foretelling events to be fulfilled in the future. At
times, the prophecies depicting strange creatures have caused confusion to theologians. However,
the content of Daniel is not the only point of discussion, the author and the time in which it was
written has also prompted the formation of differing theories. Included in this discussion are two of
the predominant views, the Exilic Thesis and the Maccabean Thesis. The Exilic Thesis is a minority
view which is termed Exilic because scholars with this view believe it was written by Daniel himself
after being exiled from Jerusalem. Scholars upholding

Analysis Of Daniel 7 : 1-14
The passage of Scripture being discussed in the following paper is Daniel 7:1–14. This chapter
consists of three literary sections, first, chaos by the sea (7:1–8) followed by the heavenly courtroom
(7:9–14), concluding with the visions divine victory and interpretation (7:15–28) which will not be
addressed in this paper. The Christian canon locates the book of Daniel within its prophetic writings,
however, the Jewish canon includes it within, "the Writings." The book of Daniel doesn't necessarily
fit in either category, as it is widely considered within the literary category of apocalyptic literature
which the subsequent sections of this paper will explore further. Daniel can be divided into three
sections, based on language: a Hebrew introduction (Ch. 1); an Aramaic section (Ch. 2–7); and a
Hebrew section (Ch. 8–12). Within these three language divisions exist two literary sections, first,
the Tales (Ch. 1–6) followed by the Visions (Ch. 7–12). These two sections, though existing within
the language divisions appear to have no corresponding connection.
Dating of the book of Daniel is difficult as there is no consensus amongst scholars as to when it was
composed. It is widely believed to have been written as early as the late sixth–century BC,
alternatively, as recent as the second–century BC. John J. Collins suggests,
Daniel 7 is written in Aramaic and is reflected in Ch. 8, it is generally assumed to be the oldest of
the visions, and so was probably written in the

Specific Predictive Prophecies Are One Of Daniel’S...
Specific predictive prophecies are one of Daniel's distinctive elements (Rogers, The Date of Daniel:
Does it Matter?). But what is predictive prophecy? Unlike the assumptions of some, not all
prophecy foretells the future (Jackson, Principles of Bible Prophecy). It was frequently the case that
prophets would forthtell past or present events (Jackson). For a prophecy to qualify as predictive, it
must meet certain qualifications. First, the prophecy must be uttered significantly earlier than its
fulfillment (Jackson). Second, the prophecy must contain specific details, not guesswork (Jackson).
And third, the prophecy must be exactly fulfilled (Jackson). Geisler adds that legitimate predictive
prophecies must contain unusual events that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Daniel addresses these four kingdoms elsewhere in his work, and the traditional
identification of the four kingdoms is clear from a proper interpretation of those texts (Dan. 7:2–8,
17; 8:3–8, 20–22; Archer, A Survey of Old Testament Introduction, 376–78). Furthermore, Daniel
does not distinguish between the Median and Persian kingdoms (McDowell 22). His inspired
interpretation of the handwriting on the wall depicts the Persians, not the Medians, as the conquerors
of Babylon (Dan. 5:28; McDowell 23). Even if Daniel was written in the second–century B.C., some
of his prophecies are still predictive since Rome was not a significant world power and Christ's
kingdom was not yet established (Geisler 179; McDowell 24–25). Therefore, no logical reason
exists to reject the predictive element of Daniel's four–kingdom prophecy. Another example of
Daniel's predictive element comes from the prophecies of the Grecian empire (Dan. 8:3–8, 20–22;
11:3–4). A sixth–century B.C. date for Daniel places him approximately 200 years or more before
Alexander the Great began his conquests (Elwell 1: 50). The former prophecy accurately depicts
Alexander's victory over the Persian Empire between B.C. 334 to 331 (Walton 554). The latter
prophecy vividly describes the partitioning of Alexander's mighty empire after his death (554, 560).
Additionally, Josephus preserves a tradition that records Jewish priests presented Alexander the
Great with the book of Daniel

The Book Of Daniel
Although it has not always been recognized as management, management has been around since the
beginning of human kind. Management functions can even be seen in the Bible. In the book of
Daniel, Daniel is seen using the four management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling.
Planning
Through careful planning, Daniel was given permission to not defile himself with the portion of the
king's meat, nor with his wine. Daniel, a man of the Lord, had purposed in his heart to obey the
Lord. He knew that if he ate of the king's meat, and drank of the king's wine that the Lord would not
be pleased. Daniel made a request to the prince of the eunuchs to be excused from eating the king's
meat. Daniel 1:8 says, "But Daniel purposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat." They had achieved a fairer
and fatter countenance than those that ate of the king's meat. Then Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah went before the king and proved to the king that they were far superior than all the other
men that stood before the king as stated in Daniel 1:19–20, "And the king communed with them;
and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood
they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of
them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his

The Differences Between Apocalyptic And Prophecy
The Differences Between Apocalyptic and Prophecy Literature
Some people may believe that prophecy and apocalyptic literature is a well–known subject because
there are lots of books and papers concerning it, but there is still so much that will always be
misunderstood. Prophesy and apocalyptic literature may have some similarities but they are
structurally different in a way that makes them distinct. This paper will address prophecy and
apocalyptic writings and determine the differences between them by using Daniel and Amos as
templates.
First, what must be looked at is who is a prophet and what is a prophet's message. A prophet is an
Israelite called on by God to express in poetic form the vision of God, His kingdom, the messianic
age of peace, the work of the Holy Spirit, a new community of people, and the transformation of
creation and humanity (VanGemeren 16). One example of a prophet is Amos, where the feeling of
prophetic sense of an inner compulsion, "Surly the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His
secret counsel to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has
spoken! Who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:7–8). Prophets declared Gods word as His spokesmen, he
did not serve himself, he served the Lord "I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen
like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him"
(Deut. 18:18). God chose certain people to be able to speak His Word not by their

Book Of Daniel
In his commentary on the book of Daniel, author Leon J. Wood states that "The book of Daniel
presents two main benefits for its reader. In its historical section (chapters 1–6) it presents
challenging truths and lessons for the Christian life." Wood's statement is the perfect precursor to the
thesis of this essay. When he asserts that one of the main benefits of reading the Book of Daniel is
that it provides merit in its truths and lessons, the most substantial truth any reader "should" obtain
is the personhood of God and He is the guiding hand through Judah's exile, which is depicted in
chapters 1–6. When taken at face value, the stories and visions in the Book of Daniel seem to simply
record and account for historical events during the sixth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will also discuss a few other sub–themes here and there including: This essay is dependant on
information from a number of commentaries recommended by Dr. Pierce. However, the quotes that
appear are what I believe to be, excerpts that best support the essay's thesis and soon–to–be
discussed themes. I have tried to be self–aware of the origin of many ideas that appear in this paper
through footnotes below. Aside from what is cited, there will be times where I make statements
without any supports. These instances are either stream of thought synthesized through some logical
pathway that somehow cleared itself for me while writing. Below, you will see that preface each
chapter with a very brief summary/context of the chapter. Then I will cite verses that imply the
presence of God and how it ties into the sovereignty of God. This method will be apparent through
chapters one through six. It's worth mentioning that there will be at times, brief mention of the
aforementioned subthemes that tend to appear here and there.
Through the first six (narrative) chapters of the Book of Daniel God's sovereignty is presented as a
two–fold phenomenon that occurs through each chapter with the first part being: The incomparable
Lord is sovereign over all earthly kingdoms, holding rulers and subjects alike accountable for sin

Daniel
The book of Daniel is one of the most highly criticized books of the bible, yet the messages in
Daniel are well–defined and distinct. Authored by the Prophet Daniel, the key theme of Daniel is
faithfulness and the book of Daniel clearly calls all of God's people to understand God's sovereignty
over the nations of the world and to openly acknowledge him and faithfully represent and follow
him in the world. Other distinct meanings in Daniel include symbolic prophesies and the return of
Christ, persecution of God's people, and the emphasis that God's people can still thrive in times of
difficulty or captivity as long as they remain faithful and believe in God. Daniel can be broken into
two sections with chapters one through six a narrative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The writings in Daniel record his experiences as well as the records and events during the
Babylonian captivity from 560 to 535 B.C. The purpose of Daniel can be seen as two–fold with a
focus on the sovereignty of God and faithfulness of the people and also the prophetic information
that is relayed through Daniel's visons in the later chapters. The major events of Daniel begin with
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah being taken into Babylonian captivity. Hananiah, Mishael,
and Azariah were given the Babylonian names of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and survived
the fiery furnace to demonstrate their faithfulness to God by refusing to bow to the statute of the
Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel becomes well known for his wisdom and interprets
Nebuchadnezzar's dream regarding the giant statue (Daniel 2) that represents gold in the Babylonian
empire, silver in the Medo–Persian empire, bronze in the Greek empire, Iron in the Roman empire,
and the significance of iron and clay at the feet and the rock that represents the Kingdom of God. In
Chapter five Nebuchadnezzar is killed for not humbling before God. In Daniel Chapter six, Daniel is
thrown into the Lion's Den for praying to God and is protected by the

Essay about The Book Of Daniel
The Book of Daniel The Book of Daniel took place in between 605 BC and 530 BC however the
message is still relevant in today's society, 2544 years later. Different themes are found in the book.
These themes teach a lesson which can be used into today's society. Even though the times, tradition
and circumstances are different now than it was back then the messages are greatly relevant. The
main themes of the book were about faithfulness toward what you believe in no matter what society

drinking water instead of wine every day and eating vegetables instead of the royal food treats the

Daniel's Interpretation Of King Nebuchadnezzar
Daniel 2:43–49, an excerpt from Daniel's interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar, shows the power
of God's connection with his children. Daniel, during the explanation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream,
depicts a statue with a head made of gold, the chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,
its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay (6). Daniel then tells Nebuchadnezzar that he
is the head of gold, the silver part of the statue is an inferior kingdom that will replace him, and the
bronze part is a third nation that will "rule over the whole earth." As you advance down the statue,
the iron kingdom will be one that "crushes and smashes everything." Then the kingdom will be
divided, which is symbolized by the clay and iron feet. Finally, a stone will be thrown at the statue;
this stone was a symbol of God's Kingdom and this kingdom will stand forever (4). As Daniel told
this to King Nebuchadnezzar, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believed that the only reason why Daniel would know how to interpret his dream the way he did
was by being the direct words from God. Nebuchadnezzar saw Daniel's God as the Revealer of
secrets and the secrets held within his dream was opened by the messenger of God, Daniel. Since
Daniel was the messenger of God, Nebuchadnezzar believed that he must reward him with the
highest honor and show him respect. I find it interesting in the fact that the King does not dismiss
the other gods, but instead says that God is the God of all Gods. I find that quite hypocritical as the
second commandments say "You shall have no other gods before Me" (Exodus 20:3 NKJV).
Nebuchadnezzar goes against the second commandment and refers to other gods when referring to

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about in
a theological point of view. These so–called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the
characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all
started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name
underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can
be seen in different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the bible presents them. Take
for example Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel's experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian capital,
where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society. His loyal
service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people of Scripture.
Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive record of his
actions.

the book of Daniel, Daniel would pray three time a day to thank God for his love. Daniel's

commandment on his lifestyle. Daniel unsurmountable faith in God can be seen throughout his
journey. For instance, Daniel showed his faith in God by praying to God even though he knew that
doing so would endanger his life at what time in his journey. Moreover, Daniel 's faithfulness to God
even guided him in a lion' den, where his enemies were sure he would be devoured. But God sent

The Babylonians had attacked Jerusalem and took many Jewish captives; one of them was Daniel.
He is known loyal to God and wise beyond his years. He interprets dreams and visions. His gifts are
from God of Israel, and he became a living testimony to God in a strange land. His symbolic visions
about the future of Israel, world kingdoms, and the kingdom of God exposes everyone to the long–
term plan for the world. Daniel is not only known as Daniel the prophet; he is also known as one of

He made up in his mind to serve God. He accepted the bondage of eating the king's food at the
king's table and being torn apart from his family, ripped out of everything he has known, and being

had to make three important decisions every day. Daniel had to take part in a pagan education, put

development of their novitiates not because of their genius or diet, but because "God gave Daniel

It was Ali Muhammad As–Sallaabee who posed on his book "The Noble life of a prophet" that a
prophet is someone called by God and filled with God's Spirit, a prophet spoke God's word to
people who had in one way or another distanced themselves from God. The prophet has for its task
not only to deliver the message from God to the people but also to predict the future. For the bible

Instead, prophecy is to be regarded as purely a symbolic form of instruction regarding eternal truths
about good and evil. Most idealists are preterists. This suggests that the fulfillment of all prophecies
is of the past.
3) HISTORICISM: This system of interpretation is also known as the Protestant system because it
was cherished during the time surrounding the Reformation. It emphasizes the fact that prophecy
has continuity as its chief characteristic and that therefore the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation
are to interpreted as signifying events commencing at the time of the prophecy but surveying all
centuries until the end of time.
It is important for one to know, despite of the many schools of thought that may differ in their
interpretation. God has already made his message clear to us by the ministry of his prophets. Ellen
G. White, in her writings brings back to our memory that prophecy has its fulfilment in the past,
present and future. Some prophecies are already fulfilled, some are fulfilling in these actual days
while some are for the future. Therefore she says in her book "Child Guidance" that "we cannot

There Is Fire Before His Throne
There is Fire Before His Throne (Dan. 7:9d–10a; Rev. 4:5)
Fire is commonly featured in Biblical theophany accounts (Exod. 3:2; 19:18) and has very strong
connotations of destructive judgment (Ps. 97:3), which are terrifyingly present in Daniel 7:9–10.
The fire is indicative of God's dominant and absolute power in judgment, which issues from his
fiery throne and goes out before him. Revelation 4:5 describes the fire before the throne in this way,
"From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the
throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God" the structural order of

is vast, then, and they were seen here by Daniel surrounding the throne of God, ready to do his

Beale notes that Revelation 5:8–9 draws Isaiah 6 into this heavenly vision because its scene of God's

Book(s) are Opened (Dan. 7:10; Rev. 5:1–5)
The opening of the books in Daniel 7:10 leads to the destruction of the fourth beast, who is "given
over to be burned with fire" (7:11) and the submission of the other three beasts for a predetermined
time. These elements are often used in the New Testament to explain the Parousia of Jesus and final
judgment on humanity, as they are the strongest Old Testament link to heavenly books and the life to
come, though the heavenly books in Daniel speak to the four beasts, not all of humanity. Daniel's
books indicate judgment, as does the book featured in Revelation 5:1, which is made apparent in the
following chapters of the Revelation. Beale

Pseudonymity In The Book Of Daniel
Pseudonymity is the method of producing new compositions in the name of a famous deceased
author (Harris, 2014, p.2). This particular method was well–known in the Hellenistic Jewish
community and among early Christian writers. Specifically, during 200 BCE to 200 CE, the Jewish
writers produced numerous books that were accredited to respected biblical figures that included
Daniel, Enoch, Noah, Solomon, and a host of others (Harris, 2014, p.387). Interestingly, some of the
books such as Book of Daniel were received into the Hebrew Bible canon, while others such as
Enoch were not. Also, other writings that included the Wisdom of Solomon, Baruch, and the
apocalyptic 2 Esdras, were considered as deuterocanonical, a representation of the Old Testament's

Daniel Vs Ezekiel Essay
Ezekiel and Daniel are alike and different in many ways. Yes, both were Major Prophets called by
God. The history we learn about these prophets should teach us many things that we as Christians
are called to know.
Name:
The names Daniel and Ezekiel are similar in the fact that they were both taken from Hebrew and
both are named after their authors. The difference is apparent when we look at the meaning of the
names. Daniel means "God is Judge" or God is my Judge", whereas Ezekiel means "God
strengthens" or "strengthened by God".
Theme:
There's not much similarity in the themes of these books except that in both books, God's grace is
plainly shown. That is about where the similarities end. From there, Ezekiel's theme is focused on
the condemnation of Israel for their sin. Ezekiel is also a prophecy that the fall of Jerusalem and the
Babylonian captivity are necessary measures for the God of grace to employ if He is to correct his
disobedient people and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference, however, is when we look at how. In Ezekiel, Christ is pictured in parables such as
the tender sprig which is very similar, and thus reminds us, of the Branch from Isaiah 11, Jeremiah
23 and 33, and also many other places throughout scripture. Ezekiel also talks in prophecies when it
speaks of Messiah as the King with the right to rule.
In Daniel, you see Christ in many different aspects. You see Him in the fiery furnace that protected
Daniel's three friends. You see Him also in the lion's den, preserving his servant Daniel. In this book
he is portrayed through a vision as the great stone who will crush the nations of the world, which
points us to the final day when He comes again.
Canonical Significance: The canonical significance of Ezekiel is that the Holy God will be
worshipped again by a remnant. The canonical significance of Daniel is to show God's sovereignty
in history and prophesy.

The Intrigue of the Book of Danie
Book of Daniel The Book of Daniel is one of the most intriguing books found in the Bible. To know
God's plan for the future it is necessary that you understand the book of Daniel. Daniel can be
divided into two segments of six chapters each. Chapters 1–6 are made up primarily of a historical
narrative that explains how Daniel came to be in King Nebuchadnezzar's royal court and his rise to
power. Chapters 7–12 are of an apocalyptic genre in which Daniel receives visions concerning the
future and the kingdom of God. The book of Daniel implies that Daniel was its author in a few key
passages, such as 10:2 and 12:4. Jesus Christ also attributed to this indication via the quote "Daniel
the Prophet" in Matthew 24:14. In questioning of the original date for the composition of the book,
two views prevail: 1) The book was written in the 2nd century BC in Judea or 2) It was written in
the 6th century BC in Babylon by a Jewish exile name Daniel. The book sets its own historical
timetable of composition around 535 BC through such references as Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar,
and Cyrus (Hindson & Towns, 2013). The key theme throughout the book of Daniel is the
reassurance of God sovereignty over the "kingdoms of men" (Daniel 4:17, KJV). The purpose of
this book was to of encourage faithful living among God's people by demonstrating His faithfulness
and giving hope to those exiled from Jerusalem. God blesses those who put their faith in him in spite
of danger or difficulty. According to

The Book Of Daniel ( Summary )
Chase Jones Theology P.6 December 1, 2016 The Book of Daniel (Summary) Chapters 1–2, 4–6 1
In the third year of the reign of King Jehoiakim of Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to
Jerusalem and besieged it. God let King Jehoiakim of Judah fall into his power. Then the king
commanded his palace master Ashpenaz to bring in some Israelites of the royal family and of
nobility, young men without physical defect and handsome, versed in every branch of wisdom,
endowed with knowledge and insight, and competent to serve in the king's palace. They were to be
educated for three years, so that at the end of that time they could be put in the king's court. Among
them were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, from the tribe of Judah. The palace master gave
them different names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he
called Meshach , and Azariah he called Abednego. To these four young men God gave knowledge
and skill in every aspect of literature and wisdom; Daniel also had insight into all visions and
dreams. Among all the young men, no one was found to compare with Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael,
and Azariah; therefore they were stationed in the king's court. In every matter of wisdom and
understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all
the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. And Daniel continued there until the first year
of King Cyrus. 2 In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign,

The Book Of Daniel Essay
"The Book of Daniel" written by E.L Doctorow uses Daniels respective experience to capture a
radical time in history. Daniel writes from personal experiences as a child living in the 1950s to an
adult. Living through this time period, and having a strong connection to the issues surrounding this
time, one would have the expectations that Daniel has strong emotional opinions as to his
communist party parents. Throughout Daniels narrative, there are many voices, but in passages
throughout the beginning of the novel Daniel does not present himself as connected to his leftist
parent's view, in order to convey the challenges of growing up in this time period. A passage that
struck me as something odd as a child of parents who was wrongly accused and sent to be executed,
was where Daniel went to visit his sister after being admitted to a mental hospital. When Daniel first

Throughout the novel there are may different tenses of writing. Daniel talks in first and third person,
which is abnormal for a book or a dissertation. He attempts to write a narrative that is cohesive
throughout in the third person, but as he writes he starts to add parts in the first person. The third
person view is objectified. Its very factual without adding in any personal feelings to the novel. This
also adds to how Daniel is in denial of his past and wants to treat it like general history instead of his
personal story about his past. As the book delves deeper into his story Daniel starts to let his
subconscious take over and he starts to write in the first person. "He did not like my marrying
Phyllis, neither did my mother, but of course they wouldn't say anything" (4). The narrator, Daniel is

The Book Of Daniel Sparknotes
Brief Overview The book of Daniel by William Shea is a fascinating and interesting book that
explains in a clear and distinguished manner an interpretation of the book of Daniel and apocalyptic
prophecy in general. Thorough, historical research forms the basic solid formation of this book,
combined with thorough and expansive exegesis of the concepts; although the details of the exegesis
are not clearly written out so as to promote the central ideas of the book more thoroughly.
Central Ideas Given the central concept of this book is so expansive it is hard to nail down a few
points so I start with the central concept of what I believe that Shea is getting across: the themes of
Daniel are rooted deeply in both Jewish history as well as general history, presenting a picture of the
Sanctuary and the transcendence of God that invites people into the love of God the Father, Jesus
Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Establishing this central concept of the book differentiates it clearly from
other books that take the historical–critical approach to interpreting prophecy. All this concept is
throughout the book, I want to share one, short quote that particularly, in my opinion, deals with this
concept: "There will come a time when He will set up His kingdom, and His kingdom is going to be
different from any that humanity has seen previously. Not only will it be different in character, being
based upon love and justice and grace, but it will also be different in terms of time."

The Nature Of God In The Book Of Daniel
Throughout the book of Daniel, the writer uses such language as, "The Lord let", "God allowed",
"God gave", and "God will" to depict who God is to humanity. God grants insight to Daniel
(Babylonian name Belteshazzar), and protection to Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (Babylonian
names Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego). God gives to whom God wants to according to Her plan
and purpose. As the Hebrew Bible records, Israel though disobedient was promised that God would
restore them. The Israelites, the exiles in the book of Daniel appear to be faithful and diligent in
their allegiance to God. It is the Babylonians that act to learn who this God is and brought low
because of their pride and taught. God shows mercy not only to the Israelites, but to the Babylonians
as well! God uses the fiery pit, the lion's den, King Nebuchadnezzar, his son, King Belshazzar,
residents of Babylon and King Darius to reveal and affirm that He is the Most High God.
God Is Sovereign
God uses his authority and power over everything He has created to work for His purpose as well as
exaltation. Throughout the book of Daniel, it appears that everything works towards the plan of
God. God uses what give the impression to be the righteous and the unrighteous. God performs to
work through good, evil, friend and foe.

Book Summary: The Bronze Bow
Bronze Bow Good Copy
His life was changed. His parents were snatched from his world by the Romans. Now Daniel is set
on avenging their death. Daniel is stuck in a world of dark hatred. He needs to find the light in the
world, and become a better person. The Bronze Bow is a book about an 18 year old Jewish boy
named Daniel. It's about how Daniel has changed from a not very loving person, into a completely
different one. At first Daniel wasn't one to be kind towards the Romans, he didn't follow Jesus or
understand him and he left his family. Leah, his sister, was left alone with only her grandma, and she
was consumed by demons. She missed Daniel at first, then she forgot him. When Daniel left he
didn't come back for a really long time. He was never around because of what happened to his
parents. Daniel changed over the course of this book. I believe this because I think he chose to leave
his hate behind and he turned into a new person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Near the very end of the book things change. Daniel finds out that his sister Leah has been hanging
out with a young Roman guy named Marcus. He figured this out when Marcus arrived at Daniel's
and Leah's doorstep with a basket of fruit. Daniel hits the basket of fruit to the ground, and tells the
Roman to get out. Daniel started the book with so much hatred towards the Romans but near the end
of the book he realizes what he did to the Romans and Marcus, was wrong and he goes out to talk to
him. Once he is finished he asks Marcus if he would like to come into his house and say "hi" to
Leah. I still don't think that all his anger towards the Romans has subsided, but I do believe that it
has softened because he chose to treat his sister differently by putting Leah above himself. I believe
this is a way that Daniel has changed throughout the book because he he shows kindness towards
the Romans, he also does what's important to

Rhetorical Analysis Of Daniel
CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS
The book of Daniel is one about hope and unshakeable faith in God. Daniel is one of the greatest
examples of a God–fearing man who did everything in his power to prove his love and loyalty for
his Savior. The main theme of the book of Daniel is God's sovereignty over history and empires, in
which He appoints and dethrones rulers as He pleases.1 This is an allusion to the fact that worldly
kingdoms will come and go, but the Lord's Kingdom will never pass away. Several chapters
throughout the book of Daniel deal with this concept. The book is named after the writer and main
character, written in the sixth century B.C., to record the events of his life and the visions that he
saw from the time of his exile to the third year of King Cyrus.2
The passage which is being studied is found in Daniel 3:8–30 which is the story of the fiery furnace.
Before one can examine this passage of Scripture, it is imperative that one understands the events
that took place before the action to fully understand the story. Refer the outline for the first three
chapters of Daniel for further explanation.

Bible: The Book of Daniel
The Book of Daniel is the only full–blown apocalyptic book in the Protestant recognized version of
the Canon. A literary device divides the book into two halves. Chapters 1–6 are a collection of
stories that introduces the reader to Daniel and three other Israelites as unwilling guests of the
Babylonia Empire ruled by Nebuchadnezzar. The second half, Chapters 7–12 consists of apocalyptic
imagery of deformed beasts and the heavenly court. The focus of this paper will be on chapter 7,
which serves as a bridge of the two halves. Chapter 7 is the earliest of the visions as it identifies
with the genre of 8–12 while through language and content it reverts to Daniel chapter 2. The

Of course, we read of the Daniel and his three companions endearing themselves to Nebuchadnezzar
by demonstrating a wisdom beyond that of the wise men surrounding the King. It perhaps says
something about split personality of the King in that although he ransacked the temple in Jerusalem,
he was open to extending a great deal of freedom and responsibility to the Israelites.
The second beast is a bear with three tusks in it's mouth is told to devour many bodies. It is not clear
the source of this command though it unlikely to have came from YHWH, but not impossible
because we must remember the Israelites are not completely innocent of disregarding the commands
of the YHWH. Stephen Cook, in his book, "The Apocalyptic Literature" warns readers about
domesticating the Book of Daniel especially the symbols and images. "In Daniel, the heavenly court
is intimately engaged in the daily unfolding events of earthly geopolitics. People and powers on
earth do not act in autonomous isolation" (Cook, p. 127). Who stood up the lion–like beast on two
feet and gave it a human mind? Nevertheless, chaos is not without leadership

to boycott all things that the farms produce. Another major reason people decide to become vegan is
that animal agriculture destroys the environment. Animal agriculture is the growing and raising of
animals in preparation for slaughter and consumption by humans, or other animals. When raising
meat animals it takes 12 times as much land, 13 times more fossil fuel, and 15 times more water
than it takes to grow vegetables, fruit, or grains. It also produces more greenhouse gas than all
modes of transportation combined (citation). The increase of greenhouse gases increase the effects
of the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the idea that is that when more gas is released the
sun's warmth is trapped closer to the earth. The greenhouse effect is one of the contributors to global
warming. Another way raising cattle affects the environment is in many cases land becomes
deforested to create more land for cattle to graze. Even though meat is important for a healthy diet

God In The Book Of Daniel
The book of Daniel is an account of Babylonian times, but it also has apocalyptic visions from God.
The theme of this book is to show how God provides for those who are faithful to Him. The name
Daniel means "God is judge." It is interesting to think that the name corresponds with the lesions in
the book. Daniel was a young man of the nobility who might have been 16–18 years old around the
beginning of the book. He was taken to Babylon after the war of Jerusalem ended. Daniel, a young
boy, was moved from his homeland and left all that he knew. He was thrown into a new culture with
new pagan rules. Daniel trained in the Babylonian ways, culture, and language. He was soon an
adviser and overseer to the personal service of Nebuchadnezzar (1).

The Chief Led The Way As They Left The Hut

  • 1. The Chief Led The Way As They Left The Hut The chief led the way as they left the hut. They passed through the doorway, and the outside light blinded Daniel. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but when they did, Daniel could see many huts like the one he was just in. the tribe had placed the huts in a wide circle, surrounding a large fire pit made of stone. They dragged Daniel a few feet away, past the fire pit to a large wooden pillar which stuck straight out of the ground. As Daniel got closer, he noticed a lifeless figure tied up on the pillar. It was Captain Jack Hughes of flight Dreamhail. His body lied there motionless, stained dry with blood. Daniel couldn't believe that his former captain had been killed and for what reason? The men dragged Daniel to the former captain, throwing him unto the ground before the lifeless body. The chief approached the captain with a large knife, and Daniel watched as the captain was then decapitated. The chief then threw his head to the ground, causing it to roll right in front of Daniel. Daniel was horrified, and was now breaking out in tears. "So this is what happened to you, huh captain? These people... they have killed you and will now probably do the same to me," He said. The chief proceeded to cut the restraints off from the captain's lifeless body, which then dropped to the ground in one loud thud. Daniel couldn't believe what was happening. A bubbling anger rose in Daniel, and he began to scream with all his energy, "You savages! Why... Why did you have to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Daniel's Death Thesis E.L. Doctorow's The Book of Daniel is centered around Daniel Isaacson, a doctoral student whose thesis aims to discover the truth behind his parents' death. Paul and Rochelle Isaacson were tried, convicted, and executed for conspiracy to commit espionage when Daniel and his sister, Susan, were still children. Their death, as well as their reputation, left behind deep scars in both their children, scars that manifest themselves in different ways, but that nevertheless disturb and upset their lives. Daniel, wanting to make sense of these scars, sets out to document a past that leads to his mother and father's execution. But, as the German philosopher and critic, Walter Benjamin declares, "there is no document of civilization which is not at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Doctorow links––by way of structure and word choice––the "ritual" involving the grandmother's pennies to the ritual of drawing and quartering. The section on this form of execution, appearing almost directly after the grandmother's story, describes in explicit detail how a criminal was slowly tortured until "the final act of the ritual was then performed, a hacking of the body into four parts, the quarters then being thrown to the dogs" (73–4). This savage tradition marks a rather dark period in English history, and though it has been discontinued, its brutality can still be found in countless other societies. Further along in the novel, Daniel describes the barbarism of other civilizations' past torture techniques, all committed in the name of justice. He includes the practice of Japanese smoking, Russian knouting, burning at the stake that infected both Europe and America, and finally electrocution, the mode of execution to which Paul and Rochelle were condemned. Though the method of the punishment changes over time and place, the brutality remains. It remains, even in twentieth century, even in the United States, because it cannot be wiped from history's memory, just as his own brutal past cannot be wiped from Daniel's ... • 5. The Empire Of The Persian Empire Achaemenid Persia was one of the first and greatest empires of the Fertile Crescent and beyond, as such, they would come into contact with diverse groups of people, one of which is the Jews of Judea. The Persian Empire is one of the few empires depicted in the Tanach, or Hebrew Bible, as favorable. This being so, it can still be difficult to assert who the Persians, their kings, and their land were in the eyes of the Jews. The stories and depictions of the kings and land do not always agree on the matter and differ on how much detail is given. Persians during the time they ruled Judea have few records of who the Jews were and what they did in the borders of the empire. From what is found, it is still possible to gleam whom the Jews and their land were in the eyes of the kings of Persia. The depiction of Persia, namely that of the Achaemenid dynasty, has largely been favorable in the Tanach. They are presented in the Books of Esther, Daniel, Ezra/Nehemiah, Chronicles, and Isaiah as agents of G–d to preserve the nation of Israel. Yet despite on this commonality they differ on the details. The Book of Esther tells the story of a Jewish girl named Esther and the possibility of the genocide of the Jews. The Book of Daniel tells the story of the rise to power of the Medes and Persians against the Babylonians. The Book of Ezra/Nehemiah tells of how Cyrus the Great was benevolent and permitted the Jews to return to the Land of Israel to rebuild their destroyed temple. The Book of ... After king Nebuchadnezzar kills all of the wise men in anger, Daniel explains the dream. Nebuchadnezzar is pleased with Daniel and promotes him to the chief administrator over all the wise men (2:48). His three friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, now named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–Nego, are also given positions of authority. Soon after this, king Nebuchadnezzar builds a gold statue of himself and signs a decree for everyone to bow down and worship this image. It would be easy for Daniel and his friends to simply comply with the decree and bow down, but they remain faithful to the Lord and refuse to partake in these practices. When Nebuchadnezzar heard that Shadrach, Meshach and Abed–Nego did not bow down to his golden image, he becomes furious. He commands to have them thrown into the fiery furnace (3:15), and orders it to be heated seven times the usual temperature (3:19). But God preserves them in the furnace and delivers them unharmed out of the fire. God remains faithful in protecting His children and Nebuchadnezzar sees the power of God and praises him (3:28). But Nebuchadnezzar soon returns to his ways of paganism and God disciplines him by taking away his kingdom and giving it to his son Belshazzar. In addition, Nebuchadnezzar is made to live as a beast in the fields (4:31–33). After living in the fields, Nebuchadnezzar is given back his kingdom and his power and both he and ... • 11. Old Testament Apocalyptic By Daniel. Daniel O SU_ MIN7010 W7–A2 Old Testament Apocalyptic Assignment 2: Old Testament Apocalyptic One of the writers of the Old Testament that is often spoken as an apocalyptic writer and that is Daniel. Daniel is depicted as an apocalyptic writer because in the Hebrew Bible, Daniel had dreams and visions which also involved angelic intermediaries Daniel 's writings also involve a comprehensive view of prophetic history. This prophetic history begins with a young Jewish exile around the 600BC –586 who had experienced persecution, and intimidation, but once in Babylon impressed the leaders with his intellect and good perception. Daniel interpreted King Nebuchadnezzar 's (the king of Babylon) dream (Daniel 2:31–33)." A single great: statue; that statue which was large and of extraordinary splendor, was standing in front of you, and its appearance was awesome. The head of that statue was made of fine gold, its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You continued looking until a stone was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet iron any clay and crushed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed all at the same time and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them found. But the stone that struck the statue" became a great mountain and filled the whole earth"(2:34–35)". ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Apocalypto By Claudio Carvalho "In the Maya civilization, a peaceful tribe is brutally attacked by warriors seeking slaves and human beings for sacrifice for their gods. Jaguar Paw hides his pregnant wife and his son in a deep hole nearby their tribe and is captured while fighting with his people. An eclipse spares his life from the sacrifice and later he has to fight to survive and save his beloved family." Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This 2006 thriller from the mind of Mel Gibson depicts the end or terrible violence of a Maya tribe. It is fitting that the title is "Apocalypto" which is a Yucatec Maya dialect. However, the name coincides with the text which is the Apocalypse. Dr. Buck shares that the word 'Apocalypse or Apocalyptic' is "Apocalyptic is tied in with the words 'eschatological' and 'eschatology,' which have to do with the end of world/end of time with God working things together according to His plan." However, when thrown into the furnace, tied up and bound, the king was astonished. As he looked in the furnace, he noticed not only were they untied, but a fourth figure was walking around with them. Many scholars and bible students see this fourth figure as Christ manifested with the three. Calvin and Myers cites: Nebuchadnezzar calls him a son of God; not because he thought him to be Christ, but according to the common opinion among all people, that angels are sons of God since a certain divinity is resplendent in them; and hence they call angels generally sons of God. According to this usual custom, Nebuchadnezzar says, the fourth man is like a son of a god. • 15. Explain The Four Kingdoms In The Book Of Daniel Discussion Board 1 In the Book of Daniel the 7th chapter it is record that Daniel mentioned four great kingdoms. The four great kingdoms that Daniel mentioned are Babylon, Medo–Persia, Greece, and Rome. Daniel stated in detail that these four kingdoms would come out the earth. "The Babylonian, Persian, Greek, and Roman empires were all different in size, power, and in many other ways." It is noted that Daniel use animal symbols to describe these four kingdoms. First, the Babylonia kingdom is represented by a lion that had wings like an eagle in which stood like a man on its two feet. It is imperative to state, "The lion's wings being torn off speaks of the king's insanity and loss of power; standing on two feet like a man and receiving a human heart (mind) denotes Nebuchadnezzar's humanitarian rule after his insanity; and the lion being "lifted up from the ground" indicates that it was God who raised the king to his place of honor." Secondly, the Medo– Persia kingdom is represented by a bear that had three ribs in its mouth, and it was commanded to devour all flesh. This command that was given means that this empire will conqueror other empires. Thirdly, the Greek Empire was represented by a leopard with four wings and four heads. The Greek ... The book of Daniel and the Revelation are counterparts of each other. They should be studied together as to get the whole picture of God's redemptive plan, world's history, the future of the world, God's victory over evil at the end of the world, and a glimpse into the new heaven and the new earth. Even if these two books are different, many parts of the books talk about the same event of world's history in which we are about to find out. In this essay, I will show how the book of Daniel is related to Revelation and then how John uses the imagery of Daniel. First of all, let us look at the introduction to the books of Daniel and Revelation. I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So what does the 'sea' or 'water' prophetically represent? Revelation 17:15 shows that 'waters' represent 'peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues'. With this clue, we know that these beasts in both Daniel and Revelation came up from the densely populated area. What about the beasts? What do they represent? Daniel 7:17,23 clearly shows that 'beasts' represents 'kings or kingdoms' so we can apply this to both Daniel and Revelation. Without relating Daniel to Revelation and vice versa, the interpretation of these books could be problematic and they could be misinterpreted. Second, the books of Daniel and Revelation contain prophecies that point to the same event. Many Biblical scholars approach the interpretation of the books of Daniel and Revelation differently (Nelson 1982). For the book of Daniel, the majority of scholars share similar interpretation. This is because interpretations of dream or vision are included in the book. As for the book of Revelation, it contains various symbolic things and beings but there is not much interpretation for dreams or visions included in it. That is why there are several approaches to interpret Revelation in Christian community. Because of several approaches, I would like to focus only to the approach that is held by the majority of Seventh–day Adventists such as Uriah Smith and Ellen G. White who showed strong and clear connection between the books of Daniel and Revelation. Seventh–day Adventist pioneers such as Uriah Smith ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Exilic Thesis: An Analysis For many years the book of Daniel has provided Christians, and particularly Adventists with a fascinating narrative of the Jewish exile and visions foretelling events to be fulfilled in the future. At times, the prophecies depicting strange creatures have caused confusion to theologians. However, the content of Daniel is not the only point of discussion, the author and the time in which it was written has also prompted the formation of differing theories. Included in this discussion are two of the predominant views, the Exilic Thesis and the Maccabean Thesis. The Exilic Thesis is a minority view which is termed Exilic because scholars with this view believe it was written by Daniel himself after being exiled from Jerusalem. Scholars upholding ... • 23. Analysis Of Daniel 7 : 1-14 The passage of Scripture being discussed in the following paper is Daniel 7:1–14. This chapter consists of three literary sections, first, chaos by the sea (7:1–8) followed by the heavenly courtroom (7:9–14), concluding with the visions divine victory and interpretation (7:15–28) which will not be addressed in this paper. The Christian canon locates the book of Daniel within its prophetic writings, however, the Jewish canon includes it within, "the Writings." The book of Daniel doesn't necessarily fit in either category, as it is widely considered within the literary category of apocalyptic literature which the subsequent sections of this paper will explore further. Daniel can be divided into three sections, based on language: a Hebrew introduction (Ch. 1); an Aramaic section (Ch. 2–7); and a Hebrew section (Ch. 8–12). Within these three language divisions exist two literary sections, first, the Tales (Ch. 1–6) followed by the Visions (Ch. 7–12). These two sections, though existing within the language divisions appear to have no corresponding connection. Dating of the book of Daniel is difficult as there is no consensus amongst scholars as to when it was composed. It is widely believed to have been written as early as the late sixth–century BC, alternatively, as recent as the second–century BC. John J. Collins suggests, Daniel 7 is written in Aramaic and is reflected in Ch. 8, it is generally assumed to be the oldest of the visions, and so was probably written in the ... But what is predictive prophecy? Unlike the assumptions of some, not all prophecy foretells the future (Jackson, Principles of Bible Prophecy). It was frequently the case that prophets would forthtell past or present events (Jackson). For a prophecy to qualify as predictive, it must meet certain qualifications. First, the prophecy must be uttered significantly earlier than its fulfillment (Jackson). Second, the prophecy must contain specific details, not guesswork (Jackson). And third, the prophecy must be exactly fulfilled (Jackson). Geisler adds that legitimate predictive prophecies must contain unusual events that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Daniel addresses these four kingdoms elsewhere in his work, and the traditional identification of the four kingdoms is clear from a proper interpretation of those texts (Dan. 7:2–8, 17; 8:3–8, 20–22; Archer, A Survey of Old Testament Introduction, 376–78). Furthermore, Daniel does not distinguish between the Median and Persian kingdoms (McDowell 22). His inspired interpretation of the handwriting on the wall depicts the Persians, not the Medians, as the conquerors of Babylon (Dan. 5:28; McDowell 23). Even if Daniel was written in the second–century B.C., some of his prophecies are still predictive since Rome was not a significant world power and Christ's kingdom was not yet established (Geisler 179; McDowell 24–25). Therefore, no logical reason exists to reject the predictive element of Daniel's four–kingdom prophecy. Another example of Daniel's predictive element comes from the prophecies of the Grecian empire (Dan. 8:3–8, 20–22; 11:3–4). A sixth–century B.C. date for Daniel places him approximately 200 years or more before Alexander the Great began his conquests (Elwell 1: 50). The former prophecy accurately depicts Alexander's victory over the Persian Empire between B.C. 334 to 331 (Walton 554). The latter prophecy vividly describes the partitioning of Alexander's mighty empire after his death (554, 560). In the book of Daniel, Daniel is seen using the four management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Planning Through careful planning, Daniel was given permission to not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with his wine. Daniel, a man of the Lord, had purposed in his heart to obey the Lord. He knew that if he ate of the king's meat, and drank of the king's wine that the Lord would not be pleased. Then Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah went before the king and proved to the king that they were far superior than all the other men that stood before the king as stated in Daniel 1:19–20, "And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. • 31. The Differences Between Apocalyptic And Prophecy The Differences Between Apocalyptic and Prophecy Literature Some people may believe that prophecy and apocalyptic literature is a well–known subject because there are lots of books and papers concerning it, but there is still so much that will always be misunderstood. Prophesy and apocalyptic literature may have some similarities but they are structurally different in a way that makes them distinct. This paper will address prophecy and apocalyptic writings and determine the differences between them by using Daniel and Amos as templates. First, what must be looked at is who is a prophet and what is a prophet's message. A prophet is an Israelite called on by God to express in poetic form the vision of God, His kingdom, the messianic age of peace, the work of the Holy Spirit, a new community of people, and the transformation of creation and humanity (VanGemeren 16). One example of a prophet is Amos, where the feeling of prophetic sense of an inner compulsion, "Surly the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:7–8). Prophets declared Gods word as His spokesmen, he did not serve himself, he served the Lord "I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him" (Deut. 18:18). In its historical section (chapters 1–6) it presents challenging truths and lessons for the Christian life." Wood's statement is the perfect precursor to the thesis of this essay. When he asserts that one of the main benefits of reading the Book of Daniel is that it provides merit in its truths and lessons, the most substantial truth any reader "should" obtain is the personhood of God and He is the guiding hand through Judah's exile, which is depicted in chapters 1–6. I have tried to be self–aware of the origin of many ideas that appear in this paper through footnotes below. Aside from what is cited, there will be times where I make statements without any supports. This method will be apparent through chapters one through six. It's worth mentioning that there will be at times, brief mention of the aforementioned subthemes that tend to appear here and there. Authored by the Prophet Daniel, the key theme of Daniel is faithfulness and the book of Daniel clearly calls all of God's people to understand God's sovereignty over the nations of the world and to openly acknowledge him and faithfully represent and follow him in the world. Other distinct meanings in Daniel include symbolic prophesies and the return of Christ, persecution of God's people, and the emphasis that God's people can still thrive in times of difficulty or captivity as long as they remain faithful and believe in God. Daniel, during the explanation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream, depicts a statue with a head made of gold, the chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay (6). Daniel then tells Nebuchadnezzar that he is the head of gold, the silver part of the statue is an inferior kingdom that will replace him, and the bronze part is a third nation that will "rule over the whole earth." As you advance down the statue, the iron kingdom will be one that "crushes and smashes everything." Then the kingdom will be divided, which is symbolized by the clay and iron feet. These so–called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can be seen in different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the bible presents them. Take for example Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success. There Is Fire Before His Throne There is Fire Before His Throne (Dan. 7:9d–10a; Rev. 4:5) Fire is commonly featured in Biblical theophany accounts (Exod. 3:2; 19:18) and has very strong connotations of destructive judgment (Ps. 97:3), which are terrifyingly present in Daniel 7:9–10. The fire is indicative of God's dominant and absolute power in judgment, which issues from his fiery throne and goes out before him. The history we learn about these prophets should teach us many things that we as Christians are called to know. Name: The names Daniel and Ezekiel are similar in the fact that they were both taken from Hebrew and both are named after their authors. The difference is apparent when we look at the meaning of the names. Daniel means "God is Judge" or God is my Judge", whereas Ezekiel means "God strengthens" or "strengthened by God". Theme: There's not much similarity in the themes of these books except that in both books, God's grace is plainly shown. That is about where the similarities end. From there, Ezekiel's theme is focused on the condemnation of Israel for their sin. Ezekiel is also a prophecy that the fall of Jerusalem and the Babylonian captivity are necessary measures for the God of grace to employ if He is to correct his disobedient people and ... In Ezekiel, Christ is pictured in parables such as the tender sprig which is very similar, and thus reminds us, of the Branch from Isaiah 11, Jeremiah 23 and 33, and also many other places throughout scripture. Ezekiel also talks in prophecies when it speaks of Messiah as the King with the right to rule. In Daniel, you see Christ in many different aspects. You see Him in the fiery furnace that protected Daniel's three friends. You see Him also in the lion's den, preserving his servant Daniel. In this book he is portrayed through a vision as the great stone who will crush the nations of the world, which points us to the final day when He comes again. Canonical Significance: The canonical significance of Ezekiel is that the Holy God will be worshipped again by a remnant. The canonical significance of Daniel is to show God's sovereignty in history and prophesy. Structure and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 55. The Intrigue of the Book of Danie Book of Daniel The Book of Daniel is one of the most intriguing books found in the Bible. To know God's plan for the future it is necessary that you understand the book of Daniel. Daniel can be divided into two segments of six chapters each. Chapters 1–6 are made up primarily of a historical narrative that explains how Daniel came to be in King Nebuchadnezzar's royal court and his rise to power. Chapters 7–12 are of an apocalyptic genre in which Daniel receives visions concerning the future and the kingdom of God. The book of Daniel implies that Daniel was its author in a few key passages, such as 10:2 and 12:4. Jesus Christ also attributed to this indication via the quote "Daniel the Prophet" in Matthew 24:14. In questioning of the original date for the composition of the book, two views prevail: 1) The book was written in the 2nd century BC in Judea or 2) It was written in the 6th century BC in Babylon by a Jewish exile name Daniel. The book sets its own historical timetable of composition around 535 BC through such references as Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, and Cyrus (Hindson & Towns, 2013). The key theme throughout the book of Daniel is the reassurance of God sovereignty over the "kingdoms of men" (Daniel 4:17, KJV). The purpose of this book was to of encourage faithful living among God's people by demonstrating His faithfulness and giving hope to those exiled from Jerusalem. God blesses those who put their faith in him in spite of danger or difficulty. According to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. The Book Of Daniel ( Summary ) Chase Jones Theology P.6 December 1, 2016 The Book of Daniel (Summary) Chapters 1–2, 4–6 1 In the third year of the reign of King Jehoiakim of Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. God let King Jehoiakim of Judah fall into his power. Then the king commanded his palace master Ashpenaz to bring in some Israelites of the royal family and of nobility, young men without physical defect and handsome, versed in every branch of wisdom, endowed with knowledge and insight, and competent to serve in the king's palace. They were to be educated for three years, so that at the end of that time they could be put in the king's court. Among them were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, from the tribe of Judah. The palace master gave them different names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach , and Azariah he called Abednego. To these four young men God gave knowledge and skill in every aspect of literature and wisdom; Daniel also had insight into all visions and dreams. Among all the young men, no one was found to compare with Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they were stationed in the king's court. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. And Daniel continued there until the first year of King Cyrus. 2 In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 61. The Book Of Daniel Essay "The Book of Daniel" written by E.L Doctorow uses Daniels respective experience to capture a radical time in history. Daniel writes from personal experiences as a child living in the 1950s to an adult. Living through this time period, and having a strong connection to the issues surrounding this time, one would have the expectations that Daniel has strong emotional opinions as to his communist party parents. Throughout Daniels narrative, there are many voices, but in passages throughout the beginning of the novel Daniel does not present himself as connected to his leftist parent's view, in order to convey the challenges of growing up in this time period. A passage that struck me as something odd as a child of parents who was wrongly accused and sent to be executed, was where Daniel went to visit his sister after being admitted to a mental hospital. When Daniel first see's his sister he exclaims, " Ah Susy, my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the novel there are may different tenses of writing. Daniel talks in first and third person, which is abnormal for a book or a dissertation. He attempts to write a narrative that is cohesive throughout in the third person, but as he writes he starts to add parts in the first person. The third person view is objectified. Its very factual without adding in any personal feelings to the novel. This also adds to how Daniel is in denial of his past and wants to treat it like general history instead of his personal story about his past. As the book delves deeper into his story Daniel starts to let his subconscious take over and he starts to write in the first person. "He did not like my marrying Phyllis, neither did my mother, but of course they wouldn't say anything" (4). The narrator, Daniel is no longer writing to an audience, but for his own self. His narration starts to veer into the first person because he is trying to make sense of his own personal story ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. The Book Of Daniel Sparknotes Brief Overview The book of Daniel by William Shea is a fascinating and interesting book that explains in a clear and distinguished manner an interpretation of the book of Daniel and apocalyptic prophecy in general. Thorough, historical research forms the basic solid formation of this book, combined with thorough and expansive exegesis of the concepts; although the details of the exegesis are not clearly written out so as to promote the central ideas of the book more thoroughly. Central Ideas Given the central concept of this book is so expansive it is hard to nail down a few points so I start with the central concept of what I believe that Shea is getting across: the themes of Daniel are rooted deeply in both Jewish history as well as general history, presenting a picture of the Sanctuary and the transcendence of God that invites people into the love of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Establishing this central concept of the book differentiates it clearly from other books that take the historical–critical approach to interpreting prophecy. All this concept is throughout the book, I want to share one, short quote that particularly, in my opinion, deals with this concept: "There will come a time when He will set up His kingdom, and His kingdom is going to be different from any that humanity has seen previously. Not only will it be different in character, being based upon love and justice and grace, but it will also be different in terms of time." ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. The Nature Of God In The Book Of Daniel Throughout the book of Daniel, the writer uses such language as, "The Lord let", "God allowed", "God gave", and "God will" to depict who God is to humanity. God grants insight to Daniel (Babylonian name Belteshazzar), and protection to Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (Babylonian names Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego). God gives to whom God wants to according to Her plan and purpose. As the Hebrew Bible records, Israel though disobedient was promised that God would restore them. The Israelites, the exiles in the book of Daniel appear to be faithful and diligent in their allegiance to God. It is the Babylonians that act to learn who this God is and brought low because of their pride and taught. God shows mercy not only to the Israelites, but to the Babylonians as well! God uses the fiery pit, the lion's den, King Nebuchadnezzar, his son, King Belshazzar, residents of Babylon and King Darius to reveal and affirm that He is the Most High God. God Is Sovereign God uses his authority and power over everything He has created to work for His purpose as well as exaltation. Throughout the book of Daniel, it appears that everything works towards the plan of God. God uses what give the impression to be the righteous and the unrighteous. God performs to work through good, evil, friend and foe. The Lord let King Jehoiakim of Judah fall into his power, as well as some of the vessels of the house of God. • 67. Book Summary: The Bronze Bow Bronze Bow Good Copy His life was changed. His parents were snatched from his world by the Romans. Now Daniel is set on avenging their death. Daniel is stuck in a world of dark hatred. He needs to find the light in the world, and become a better person. The Bronze Bow is a book about an 18 year old Jewish boy named Daniel. It's about how Daniel has changed from a not very loving person, into a completely different one. At first Daniel wasn't one to be kind towards the Romans, he didn't follow Jesus or understand him and he left his family. Leah, his sister, was left alone with only her grandma, and she was consumed by demons. She missed Daniel at first, then she forgot him. When Daniel left he didn't come back for a really long time. He was never around because of what happened to his parents. Daniel changed over the course of this book. I believe this because I think he chose to leave his hate behind and he turned into a new person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Near the very end of the book things change. Daniel finds out that his sister Leah has been hanging out with a young Roman guy named Marcus. He figured this out when Marcus arrived at Daniel's and Leah's doorstep with a basket of fruit. Daniel hits the basket of fruit to the ground, and tells the Roman to get out. Daniel started the book with so much hatred towards the Romans but near the end of the book he realizes what he did to the Romans and Marcus, was wrong and he goes out to talk to him. Once he is finished he asks Marcus if he would like to come into his house and say "hi" to Leah. I still don't think that all his anger towards the Romans has subsided, but I do believe that it has softened because he chose to treat his sister differently by putting Leah above himself. I believe this is a way that Daniel has changed throughout the book because he he shows kindness towards the Romans, he also does what's important to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Rhetorical Analysis Of Daniel CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS The book of Daniel is one about hope and unshakeable faith in God. Daniel is one of the greatest examples of a God–fearing man who did everything in his power to prove his love and loyalty for his Savior. The main theme of the book of Daniel is God's sovereignty over history and empires, in which He appoints and dethrones rulers as He pleases.1 This is an allusion to the fact that worldly kingdoms will come and go, but the Lord's Kingdom will never pass away. Several chapters throughout the book of Daniel deal with this concept. The book is named after the writer and main character, written in the sixth century B.C., to record the events of his life and the visions that he saw from the time of his exile to the third year of King Cyrus.2 The passage which is being studied is found in Daniel 3:8–30 which is the story of the fiery furnace. Before one can examine this passage of Scripture, it is imperative that one understands the events that took place before the action to fully understand the story. Refer the outline for the first three chapters of Daniel for further explanation. I. Daniel and the Three Friends at the Babylonian Court (1:1–6:28) a. Prologue (1:1–21) i. • 71. Bible: The Book of Daniel The Book of Daniel is the only full–blown apocalyptic book in the Protestant recognized version of the Canon. A literary device divides the book into two halves. Chapters 1–6 are a collection of stories that introduces the reader to Daniel and three other Israelites as unwilling guests of the Babylonia Empire ruled by Nebuchadnezzar. The second half, Chapters 7–12 consists of apocalyptic imagery of deformed beasts and the heavenly court. The focus of this paper will be on chapter 7, which serves as a bridge of the two halves. Chapter 7 is the earliest of the visions as it identifies with the genre of 8–12 while through language and content it reverts to Daniel chapter 2. The linguistic break down is not as neat as the literary divide in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, we read of the Daniel and his three companions endearing themselves to Nebuchadnezzar by demonstrating a wisdom beyond that of the wise men surrounding the King. It perhaps says something about split personality of the King in that although he ransacked the temple in Jerusalem, he was open to extending a great deal of freedom and responsibility to the Israelites. The second beast is a bear with three tusks in it's mouth is told to devour many bodies. It is not clear the source of this command though it unlikely to have came from YHWH, but not impossible because we must remember the Israelites are not completely innocent of disregarding the commands of the YHWH. Stephen Cook, in his book, "The Apocalyptic Literature" warns readers about domesticating the Book of Daniel especially the symbols and images. "In Daniel, the heavenly court is intimately engaged in the daily unfolding events of earthly geopolitics. People and powers on earth do not act in autonomous isolation" (Cook, p. 127). • 73. Veganism In The Bible : Veganism In The Bible Veganism in the Bible In today's society different diets, eating habits, and lifestyles are a popular topic of discussion in social media and current events. One of the most popular eating styles is going vegan. When a person decides to go vegan they choose to no longer eat or use any form of animal products. This means no meat, or any other product made by animals, like milk or fur. Many people chose this lifestyle because they believe that the way the animals are treated is cruel and they want to boycott all things that the farms produce. Another major reason people decide to become vegan is that animal agriculture destroys the environment. Animal agriculture is the growing and raising of animals in preparation for slaughter and consumption by humans, or other animals. When raising meat animals it takes 12 times as much land, 13 times more fossil fuel, and 15 times more water than it takes to grow vegetables, fruit, or grains. It also produces more greenhouse gas than all modes of transportation combined (citation). The increase of greenhouse gases increase the effects of the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the idea that is that when more gas is released the sun's warmth is trapped closer to the earth. The greenhouse effect is one of the contributors to global warming. Another way raising cattle affects the environment is in many cases land becomes deforested to create more land for cattle to graze. Even though meat is important for a healthy diet since it ... The theme of this book is to show how God provides for those who are faithful to Him. The name Daniel means "God is judge." It is interesting to think that the name corresponds with the lesions in the book. Daniel was a young man of the nobility who might have been 16–18 years old around the beginning of the book. He was taken to Babylon after the war of Jerusalem ended. Daniel, a young boy, was moved from his homeland and left all that he knew. He was thrown into a new culture with new pagan rules. Daniel trained in the Babylonian ways, culture, and language. He was soon an adviser and overseer to the personal service of Nebuchadnezzar (1). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
