The Confederate Flag
The Confederate Flag
Within the United States of America, arguments, involving the Confederate Flag, are solved every
sngle day. However, some controversies have managed to carry on from the 1800 s until present
day without any solution. The text and symbolic meaning behind the Confederate Flag is a perfect
example. The Confederate Flag is one of America s most embattled symbolic controversies. Created
in 1861in a battle between the South, Confederates, and the North, Union, two men by the name
P.G.T. Beauregard and Congressman William P. Miles designed and created a flag that would
represent the true southern pride and demands that would not only bring about conflict with one
half of the nation but also with our American society today.... Show more content on

So why get rid of this flag? Being a nation that prohibits slavery in written law, some Americans
who continue to believe the false rumor that the flag represents slavery and racism or are less
educated with the history behind the flag and want to get rid of it. Our society has represented the
Confederate flag in a disrespectful manner and needs to change that.
Hear the Northern thunders mutter! Northern flags in South s winds flutter! To Arms, To Arms,
To Arms in Dixie! Send them back your fierce defiance! Stamp upon the cursed alliance! To
Arms, To Arms, To Arms in Dixie! Advance the flag of Dixie! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Dixie s land
we take our stand, And we live or die for Dixie! To Arms! To Arms! And conquer peace for Dixie!
To Arms! To Arms! And conquer peace for Dixie! Confederacy chant. Many people praise it,
display it, and chant it, yet others view it with pure disgust. Once again, the Confederate or
Rebel Flag has been shoved onto the table of debate due to the raising of the flag in front of the
South Carolina State House. So much debate has arose that President Obama was questioned
where this flag should be placed? President Obama replied with a very considerate answer. His
answer was, In a museum. But why would he want to take down the flag and retire it? Many have
applauded him upon the issue, yet others are left confused as to why? Many people fly the
Confederate Flag with pride and none of which are racist. In fact, the flag does not even represent

Billie Holiday Accomplishments
Not everyone is blessed with musical talent but when someone has an extraordinary ability, he or
she should get the chance to please others with it. Sometimes a career can be made out of musical
endowment, and that is what Billie Holiday did. Billie had a life that she may not have dreamed
of since it started out rough with her mistreatment from adults and discouraging misfortunes, but
she was ambitious and that showed through her singing career. Billie could usually adapt to her
life s problems except for her drug addiction and alcohol abuse, which unfortunately led to her
demise. She was a talented woman who sang and helped create hit songs that aided her to rise to
fame. Billie Holidaybravely stood up to racism, showed the world her talent, and inspired many of
her beloved fans, all while continuing to be herself and not allowing the issues in her life hold her

Life is easy for few and difficult for many, especially when born to a teenage mother and father.
Billy Holiday, formally known as Eleanora Fagan, was born on April 7, 1915, to thirteen year old
Sadie Fagan and Clarence Holiday, who was fifteen at the time. Life began dismally for Holiday
since her father picked his own career in music over his family. He was a jazz musician who
played the banjo and guitar (Bush). School was not a priority for Holiday since she had limited
schooling and her mother would often leave her with relatives to care for her (Bush). Billie s
family was poor, and she had a life of pain, struggling, and disturbance ahead of her. As a child
Holiday would help out at a brothel by running errands for prostitutes, because in the sitting room
of the brothel she could listen to Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong music ( Billie Holiday ). She
later described her style of music as a cross between Armstrong and Smith, even though she couldn

Viva La Juicy GlacГ©
Viva La Juicy s GlacГ© perfume ad uses a beautiful, young, blonde woman in a fitted, pink sparkly
dress, lying on a background of white roses and pink ribbons to sale the vision of glamour,
freshness, and a carefree mood through their perfume. The way the woman in the picture is
beautifully portrayed, with all her beauty, glamour, , and also the displaying of the bottle of
perfume, shows how this perfume will give the woman wearing it the same life as portrayed in the
ad.
In the perfume ad by Viva La Juicy, the young woman is adoringly glamorous, from her facial
expression to how she is dressed, to the jewelry she wears. Her makeup is soft but accompanied
by a bright pink lipstick to match her rosy pink cheeks. Her skin appears soft and flawless, which
is enough for any girl to want to run out and buy this scent. The expression on her face is a
slight, flirty grin. Her lips are almost puckered. Her soft skin is hugged tightly by the pink,
sparkly dress she wears. Wrapping her wrists lie sparkly gold and silver bracelets to accent the
sparkles on her dress. She looks straight off the red carpet with how perfect her hair, makeup, body,

The Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines
Introduction
The vision of a company discusses what the company hopes to achieve within a given period. The
vision of a company promotes the development and is a measure of growth within the organization.
The value of the company incorporates the people who are valuable to the company. The company
can value its workers, shareholders or its customers in a given market. The vision of the company
should be long term and should be unique compared to the visions of other companies. The
management should formulate a mission statement for every statement to remind the workers why
the company operates and its objective. The mission statement serves as a reminder that the
company has some objectives that the workers have to work on to be achieved. Failure in most
companies is attributed to the loss of sight of the objectives set by the company. The management
should emphasis on the mission statement to ensure the success of the company (Gittell, 2005).
Goals and objectives
The goals of a company or the objectives are the targets that the organization aims to achieve to
have a competitiveГ‚ niche over otherГ‚ businesses in the market. In the formulation of a company
s goals, the management must take into account the vision of the company. The Mission statement
for Southwest Airlines is to ensure high quality customer services with logic of warmth, company

Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia
When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand
not only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia.
This sets the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the
book, which is a major theme that Willa Catherutilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this
Romantic description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land
while he travels to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards
philosophical meaning. Through this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s
narration of the nature around him works to highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is
untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank slate, which intertwines the land and Jim
together. This is furthered through the progression of the land and Jim, as they progress into
godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance between Modernism and
Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of Cather, thus leading to
a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his word choice in
describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state is important,
as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike his
hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. He says,

Pleural Intervention Essay
Pleural involvement in CT can be seen as pleural effusion, plaques, discrete pleural nodules, or a
combination. Pleural biopsy and pleural fluid cytologic examination are usually early steps in the
diagnostic workup of patients with pleural based masses. Primary pleural lymphoma is extremely
rare. By contrast, pleural involvement by systemic lymphoma is relatively common. Approximately
16% of patients with non Hodgkin lymphoma present with, or subsequently develop, pleural
involvement during the course of disease. Pleural involvement can be unilateral or bilateral and is
more common on the left side (Vega et al., 2006). Pleural effusion in patients with lymphoma may
be either due to actual pleural disease or reactive in nature (Fig.37). 18F FDG... Show more content

PET may provide complementary information to conventional staging as it is highly sensitive in
detecting nodal and extra nodal involvement by most histological subtypes of lymphoma prior to
and following treatment. In lymphoma staging, PET/CT tends to upstage rather than downstage
tumors (Okada et al., 2010). 18F FDG PET can be used for detecting most types of lymphoma.
However, even if the 18F FDG PET scan is positive in a pattern that is highly suggestive of
lymphoma, diagnosis of lymphoma requires histological confirmation. The major utility of 18F
FDG PET in diagnosis is often in directing a biopsy. PET can also be used to guide biopsies to
the site of highest 18F FDG uptake, representing the most aggressive site of lymphoma. 18F
FDG PET may identify other involved regions, which can be biopsied at much lower morbidity
(Delbeke et al, 2009). The advantages of 18F FDG PET/CT for the staging and restaging of both
NHL and Hodgkin disease are mostly attributed to the detection of 18F FDG avid, normal sized
lymph nodes (usually 1 cm), and of extra nodal sites that were previously missed at CT (most
commonly the liver, spleen, cortical bone, bone marrow, and skin). In a few cases, paraspinal and
pulmonary lesions that were interpreted as benign at CT are seen to be malignant at PET/CT (Paes

Essay about The Globalization of Child Labor
Globalization of an idea or practice can be very beneficial worldwide, but globalization can also
effect countries and people negatively. Child labor was once an immense issue in the United States;
however, we now have laws protecting children from dangerous working conditions. Unfortunately,
children in countries like India and Africa are still falling victim to harsh working conditions. These
developing nations have the same problem that the United Stateshad years ago; children are
working long hours with little pay and are working in very dangerous environments. India and
Africa have industries that are growing rapidly, but because these nations are so poor, they have to
rely on children to do most of the work because it is the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was the start of child labor issues in the United States. To help support the family, every
available family member had to become employed, and the children had the worst working
conditions out of anyone. They often worked ten to fourteen hours a day with usually no breaks
during work shifts. Rural families also thought it was in their best interest to move to the city.
Unfortunately, the children in rural areas also went through most of the same conditions. They
worked long hours just like the factory children, and they also were not supervised as much, so
there was more of a possibility for things to go wrong (Rich). The main problem with this is the
obvious problem; this is mistreatment towards the youth and extremely dangerous and unfair.
Fortunately, the rest of the country thought the same way and laws were put in place. According to
Child Labor Public Education Project, between the years of 1918 and 1926, Child Labor laws were
passed that protected children. Children with non agricultural jobs that have hazardous situations
and tasks have to be at least eighteen years old. For agricultural employment with hazardous
situations the minimum age was set at sixteen years of age (Harkin).
Another issue surrounding child labor in the United States was children were not getting an
education because he or she was always working. Children

Law To Vaccinate Parents
We want to believe we are invincible and that nothing can touch our children. We have access to
the best medical care. Many of the deadly diseases that swept through communities have now been
eradicated due to vaccination. This quotation was written by a woman named Linda Anderson.
When her son was only a few months old, he did of a vaccinepreventable disease. If you were to
ask her, she would implore you to vaccinate her children. She suffered a loss that no parent should
ever have to endure. Parents should be required by law to vaccinate their children because the
argument against it (regarding autism) is invalid, they keep children from getting and spreading
preventable, and sometimes dangerous diseases, and they prevent loss of life.... Show more content

Smallpox is one example of a diseases that could be deadly to a small child that contracts it. If a
baby catches an illness that bad, he or she does not have a strong enough immune system yet and
there is a great chance the child won t make it. Like I mentioned before, Linda Anderson lost her
baby due to a vaccine preventable disease. No parent should have to suffer a loss like that. The
saddest part is, there are many other stories out there just like Linda s. A very young child catches a
disease, their immune system isn t strong enough to fight it, the child doesn t make it. It s
absolutely horrible. Another mother, Karen Alpert, says in an entry on her blog, BabySideburns,
she understands that parents would do whatever they can do protect their child, but children need to
be vaccinated. In the blog, she talks about how she doesn t want her children to catch a preventable
disease just because some parents think they know better than doctors.
The argument can be made that vaccines have ingredients that can be harmful to small children.
However, these ingredients are given in such small doses that they just help the child build up an
immunity to them and to the disease the vaccine is made to prevent so they won t catch
chickenpox or smallpox. Parents would know this is they looked at how much of each ingredient
the vaccines

Brand Community
EXTENDING THE CONCEPT OF BRAND COMMUNITY:
BUILDING COMMITMENT IN THE CHARITY SECTOR
ABSTRACT
The paper introduces a model of brand community development that is extended to the nonprofit
sector; a sector that has just recently begun to embrace relationship marketing. It is believed that
brand communities represent a unique form of relationship marketing, with benefits that are
particularly compelling for nonprofits. Indeed, the paper reveals that many of the characteristics of
brand communities already exist to some extent within the culture and/or fundraising efforts of
charitable organizations. The article offers a number of research propositions for research into the
influence of brand community markers and mechanisms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, contributions to charity comprise a substantial portion of the average household budget,
over 5% of gross income according to Smith (1980). Individuals also donate a substantial portion of
their time to charities, time estimated to be worth roughly the equivalent of the financial
contributions (Smith 1980). Given these statistics, it is easy to see why the charity donor
relationship is so important to charitable organizations. However, a study conducted for the Direct
Marketing Association revealed that donors also feel it is important to have meaningful
relationships with nonprofit organizations (Association Management 1996). And yet, the desire for
close relationships does not guarantee full coffers or a full roster of volunteers. For although baby
boomers indicate that they intend to give more, they are cynical of charities and demand greater
accountability for how their donations are used, as well as tangible evidence of the good that this
money is doing (Fund Raising Management 1999a). The goal of the current paper is to extend the
concept of brand community to the nonprofit sector. Although this sector is nascent with respect to
its appreciation for, and adoption of, relationship marketing, it is believed that the brand community
concept is

Pontius Pilate As A Neutral Figure
Many critics argue that Pontius Pilate was either a positive or negative figure; I am going to
argue that he was a neutral figure based on his actions in regards to Jesus s trial, his attempt at
getting Jesus released, and his absolution and refusal in regards to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Mark Powell from bibleodyssey.org has a very different stance than I do. He argues that Pilate
condemned Jesusto death and had him tortured and crucified . The story of Jesus s trial and
crucifixion was told in all four of the Gospels and all of the stories vary in some manner. John 18
and 19 as well as Luke 23 show different sides of Pilate and the dilemma he faced with this
situation. There is also a historical context that must be taken into consideration to truly understand
Pilate s position with regards to the trial and crucifixion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The duties that came with this position included everything from collecting taxes to maintaining
law and order among the people (Biography.com). In Matthew 27, Pilate questioned Jesus but did
not formally accuse or charge him. Jesus silence towards the accusations levied against him
instead brought Pilate amazement. In the Gospel of Luke 23:4, 13 15 Pilate finds no guilt in
Jesus so he sends him to King Herod. King Herod also finds no guilt in Jesus so he sends him
back to Pilate who once again declares that he has not found this man guilty of any of your charges
against him. Looking at the multitude of texts surrounding the trial of Jesus Christ, it would seem
that Pilate was judging on neutral ground and doing his duty to the best of his

Tom Cruise Pre Crime
In the movie that stars Tom Cruise as the head detective for the pre crime unit there are several
intriguing ideas going on. John Anderson who is played by Tome Cruise gets his information
from what is known as the pre cogs who are a group of two males and one female. These pre cogs
are able to see into the futurewhen a murder is going to take place. These three people are floating
in a liquid unable to move to leave. They stay lying there all day and night just to serve the purpose
of warning the pre crimepoliceof danger that is suppose to come. Which sets up our first dilemma
that takes place during this movie.
These three people or pre cogs because in the movie they are not really thought as being human
beings are really imprisoned. They don t have the ability to leave or go home; instead they are
forced into drugs that keep them somewhat conscious but not too much as to know of their
surroundings. They were being used really for someone else s gain, which turned out in the end not

138). In this movie however, the pre crime police task force violates that right. They instead
choose to believe in the belief that we are predestined in the case of committing murder. They
fail to believe that people can choose the path that they take in life and whether or not they want
to commit a certain act whatever it shall be. A person has free will and with that power they have
the ability to decide to murder someone or not. The movie shows that at the end we do in fact
have a choice to whether or not we murder someone. Hence, the rationale behind arresting people
who have yet to commit a crime should be illegal and unethical. You are stripping that person of his
or her rights and reaching the belief that humans have no sense of free

Plato is known as one of ancient Greece s greatest philosophers. Plato was born in Athens, Greece
during 428 BCE. Some people believe that Plato s real name is Aristocles, if in fact this is true he
would have received this name from his grandfather. Historians believed that Plato had two full
brother, one sister, and one half brother. They are unsure if Plato was the eldest. They believe that
he was since he inherited his grandfather s name, and tradition was that the eldest son would be

One of Plato s greatest works was The Republic . The Republic was Plato s defence of justice and
what he thinks is the best form of government. The piece of writing brings up two questions that
are still relevant today. The questions brought up by this piece of writing were what is justice? ,
and what is the relation between justice and being happy? . Some of Plato s other pieces of
writing include Meno. The Meno was written in an attempt to define what virtue was. Another
one of Plato s well known dialogue was Symposium. Plato wrote Symposium to show the purpose
and nature of love. Plato wrote many more dialogues, that people still read to this day. Plato spent
his final years of his life at the academy. Around 348 BCE Plato died in Athens. He was around
eighty years old when he passed away. No one knows how exactly he passed away. Some people
say he passed away peacefully in his sleep due to old age. Others say he died while attending a
wedding.
Plato s accomplishments still live on to this day through the idea of platonism. His ideas impact
religion, science, government, and philosophy in today s world. His philosophy along with the
philosophy of Socrates and Aristotle helped form a basic idea of western philosophical traditions.
Plato s dialogues also affected life in today s society. The Republic is a good example of the effect

Anatomy Of The Pulmonary, Coronaries And Veins
Anatomy Of The pulmonary, Coronaries and aorta arteries
Gross anatomy
The heart and great vessels are roughly in the middle of the thorax, being surrounded laterally and
posteriorly by the lungs and anteriorly by the sternum and the central part of the thoracic cage. The
heart acts a twofold, self modifying suction and pressure pump, the parts of which work in union
to push blood to all parts of the body. The right half of the heart (right heart) gets ineffectively
oxygenated (venous) blood from the body via the SVC and IVC and pumps it through the
pulmonary trunk to the lungs for oxygenation. The left half of the heart (left heart) gets well
oxygenated (arterial) blood from the lungs via the pulmonary veins and pushes it into the aorta for
circulation to the body (Fig.1) (Moore and Dalley, 2006).
Fig.1. The heart and great vessels (Quoted from Shah, 2005)
I Anatomy of pulmonary arteries:
The lungs get blood by means of two sets of arteries: pulmonary arteries and bronchial arteries.
Deoxygenated blood goes through the pulmonary trunk which separates into a left pulmonary artery
that enters the left lung and a right pulmonary artery that enters the right lung. Return of the
oxygenated blood to the heart happens by method of the four pulmonary veins which deplete into
the left atrium (Tortora and Nielsen, 2012). The fundamental divisions of the trunk are the right and
left pulmonary arteries. The right pulmonary artery goes in front of the

The Da Vinci Code By Dan Brown
Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else. (Balt, 2013). This is a
quote by Leonardo da Vinci and states one of his main ideas; knowledge will open your mind to
new ideas and helps you learn about the past. A book that represents this quote, is the Da Vinci
Code by Dan Brown. This book is the thrilling story of Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu in
their hunt to solve the dying wish of Sophie s grandfather. Not only does it contain a fantastic
storyline, it also is full of rich history. John Paul Richter said history is like religion, it unites all
learning and power and that is exactly what happens in the Da Vinci Code. His life was filled with
many things that were hidden to the others, his paintings were filled with many things that are still
a mystery to this day. The book the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a historically accurate
portrayal of the mysterious life of Leonardo Da Vinciand one of his most famous paintings, the

One of the many things that influenced Da Vinci in his art was coding. Leonardo Da Vinci s first
painting he coded in was The Annunciation under the apprentice of Andrea del Verrocchio.
Towards the end of the creation of the painting, he jumped in to finish the painting for Andrea and

How Does The Prince Prospero Symbolize In The Masque Of...
Death is the only thing that time doesn t run out of. It s inescapable everybody dies, every human
goes through. Edgar Allan Poe often explored death in his stories. In Poe s The Masque of the Red
Death, he uses symbols to convey hidden messages to show that there is no running from the
inevitable like death.
Poe uses Prince Prospero to symbolize the boastful confidence of the rich. In the beginning of the
story, his people are dying from the Red Death. He decides to lock himself up with his rich
friends and leave his kingdom to die. Poe writes, When his dominions were half depopulated, he
summoned to his presence a thousand hale and light hearted friends...and with these retired to the
deep seclusion of one of his castellated abbeys...the external world could take care of itself . The
Prince is foolish enough to think that death is something he can hide from behind his walls. He is ...

Terry Tempest Williams Refuge
In Refuge, Terry Tempest Williams weaves together her experiences and relationships with family
and nature, two major themes of Refuge, as well as two apparently important aspect of Williams
life. The book is the story of the destruction of her family and the nature surrounding her, but it is
these places that are being destroyed are the same places where Terry TempestWilliams finds
comfort before, during and after cancer started to consume her life. I believe on the surface it is
nature and family that provides her with comfort, but in actuality, it is something beneath the

essential in helping her mother cope with cancer.
Williams family support network eased her own pains caused by witnessing her mother s and
grandmother s suffering with cancer, being a potential cancer patient herself. This support network,
which the Williams family demonstrates, gives patients release of emotions that accompany
cancer. The week after Williams mother was diagnosed with cancer, she stated, I ve experienced
every possible emotion this week (Williams 34). This build of emotion can be overwhelming for
any one, making the release of emotions critical. A study done by the American Cancer Society
found that releasing emotion is beneficial during treatment and can help patients and family
members cope (ACS website www.cancer.org). The Mormon faith emphasizes family and
community, which is a healthy place to release this emotion, which is described in Refuge. On one
such occasion, Williams mother states, I feel abused when describing chemotherapy (Williams 77).

Thomas Paine Contributions
Thomas Paine was alive during the 18th century and was a very influential writer of essays and
pamphlets. Some of his best known ones were The Age of Reason, which regards the place of
religion in society. Also Rights of Man, which defends the French Revolution. Finally the one he is
best known for Common Sense, which he published during the American Revolution. This book was
definitely Paine s most influential piece which turned public opinion to the view that independence
from England was needed. Thomas Painewas born on January 29, 1737. He had a Quaker father
and an Anglican mother. Paine had little formal education however was taught how to read,
write, and perform arithmetic. When Paine was thirteen he began to work with his father as a
stay maker which was the thick rope stays used on sailing ships. Later, he worked as an excise
officer. However he was not good at this, or any other early job. To add on to his hardships, around
1760, his wife and child both died in childbirth. Also his stay making business went under. His first
political work was The Case of the Officers of Excise, which was a 21 page article in defense of
higher pay for excise officers. In the winter of 1772 he handed out 4,000 copies of the work to
members of Parliament and other citizens. Paine was fired from the excise office in spring of
1774, and he began to see his outlook as barren. However he soon met Benjamin Franklin, who told

Compulsory Voting Vs. Mandatory Voting
According to Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary, the definition of a vote is, A formal
indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically
through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice. When forced to make a choice, are you still
making that choice? Compulsory voting, or mandatory voting, is a system in which electors are
required to vote in electionsor at least attend a polling place on ElectionDay. If a voter does not
appear at a polling place, and is eligible to vote, he or she may have to contribute community
service or fines. This voting system exists in about a quarter of all democracies in the world. The
core goals of compulsory voting are to increase voter turnout and to have an election reflect the
will of all citizens. However, it is improbable that this form of voting would truly change the
government to be more inclusive of those non voters than it is currently. Mandatory voting goes
against American principals and American citizens that avoid casting their ballots intentionally.
Compulsory voting would fail to solve any actual issues, and could cause even more to
surface.Compulsory voting is principally undemocratic freedom of choice must include the
freedom not to choose. Forcing citizens to vote violates individual freedom, a key staple of
American democracy. Voting must be left to the individual to choose to participate or not to
participate because the right to vote or not is protected by the

wrong with a static of 2 male to every 13 women. That is a very unbalanced and incorrect. Since

The Representation Of The Quetzalcoatl ( Feathered Serpent...
The artist was either male or female, we don t know exactly, but we do know they were from the
Mixtec culture that included the regions of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Ouebla, Mexico. Furthermore
knowing the artists culture we have a better understanding of the significance of the representation
of the QuetzalcГіatl (feathered serpent) on this three dimensional plate. The plate itself seems to
be 10 inches wide and symmetrical. The feathered god covers the whole diameter of the plate.
Though it s called a plate, we can speculate that this wasn t a traditional plate for food, but rather
than a plate to show sacredness of the mighty god. The artist s palate of colors that they chose is red
, brown and white.
In the artist s palate, the color red is very relevant to the subject of QuetzalcГіatl. This color covers
the whole plate showing how significant red is to this piece of artwork. Correspondingly this red
isn t a normal bright red, but more of a mahogany red to represent the symbolism of blood within
the story of QuetzalcГіatl. The Indianapolis Musuem of Art explains, QuetzalcГіatl was an
important Mesoamerican hero god who created humanity from his own blood. 1 The red
symbolizes blood because of the connection of the color red, blood is red and also this piece is
mostly red, so we can speculate that the artist chose the color red to connect the story of
QuetzalcГіatl making humanity from his own blood. Similarly the brown on the serpent, even has a
reddish tint to it. It is evident

The problem Disney Consumer
Products Middle East thinks occur as a result of the current distribution system is that most
distributors require exclusive rights in Lebanon for the items they carry as the market is too small
to support competing distributors. However, the market is too small for such exclusive rights. On
top of the above, there is this problem of the Lebanese retailers ability to purchase Disney
merchandise from US or European Disney licenses wholesalers and resell it in Lebanon.
Moreover, DCPEME was looking into several different distribution options. One was to rely on the
company?s licenses? current distributors, while also encouraging its worldwide licenses not
represented in Lebanon to sign agreements with one of these distributors. A problem with the above
mentioned approach is that current official distributors might not have the motivation or financial
strength to distribute more Disney products and in turn favor other products yielding higher
margins. Another option was to identify existing Lebanese distributors that might sell Disney
products not yet present in the market, but this approach would mean a challenge of coordinating
and supporting organizations unfamiliar with
Disney products. Finally, DCPEME could license one or more Disney
Corner within existing retail stores.

Understand leadership styles
1.AC 1.1 Describe the factors that will influence the choice of leadership styles or behaviours in
workplace situations. ( 24 Marks)
Before describing factors that influence a manager s chosen style it is first necessary to identify
what these styles actually are. Leadership studies stem back as far as the mid 19th century with the
Great man theory , just as the title suggests the theory implies that only men hold the characteristics
to become leaders and assumes that the traits are intrinsic or rather that leaders are born. Much later

Time dependency
Time can play a big part in the style of leadership a manger utilises, some situations require
immediate actions and necessitate an autocratic response others require team participation
generating a democratic response.
One of the more obvious situations by were an autocratic response is required would be in an
emergency situation such as a fire evacuation or drill. In this instance the manager takes complete
control of the situation giving clear instruction to their staff to ensure their safety.
An autocratic style may also be adopted when urgent response is required. An example of this
could be audit non conformance by where a procedural or behavioural change is required. A
recent example of this required a training brief to be delivered informing the team of the correct
usage of sampling containers Vs drinking cups. In this situation the content of the brief is not open
to discussion the employees are expected to digest understand what essentially a mandate is before
providing a signature as proof of briefing, the signed brief is then submitted to the audit body as
proof.
Where more time is available a manager may elect to employ a democratic approach and consult
his or her team to resolve any issues through one to one or group discussions. A recent example was
presented when raw material discrepancies where highlighted within our aseptic facility. A
departmental meeting was called in order to discuss how to implement improved control

Creativity In Clarinet
Creativity. What does that word make you think of? A person, place, object, a feeling? Do you
think of a sunset or fashion designers or artists? Creativity is such a broad concept that it s
different for everyone. If you put one hundred people in a room and told them to write down the
first thing they thought of when they heard the word creativity I bet no two people would have
the exact same answer. For me creativity is brought to me in my clarinet, and the way it was
created as well as the musicit produces. When you first see a clarinet you probably think nothing
about it, but when you really think about it you can see the beauty in it. When you examine it
closer you can really see how impressive it is how all the parts and pieces fit together. You can
see how the dark, beautiful wood of the clarinet pairs with the shiny silver of the keys.
Craftsmanship is shown in the way the reeds are made. It takes precision and skill to get the reed

PEST stands for political, economical, social and technological factors. Two more factors, the legal

factors, it is necessary to say that most of the factors depend on each other and that they change
over the years. Consequently, when one factor changes it also affects the others. The equality for
every company is the main characteristic of the factors in an environmental analysis. The different
environmental factors are covered below.

Political and legal factors are here regarded as a unit. They refer to framework given by politics.

Research Paper On Groundhog
All Eyes on the Groundhog After a long hard winter most, people are looking forward to spring.
Spring brings about new life, budding trees and flowers, birds singing and butterflies flying.
Predicting the end of winter and the beginning of spring has been a long time favorite ritual for
many people. Groundhog Dayhas been around for centuries. The tradition stems from earlier
traditions and crosses many different cultures. Groundhog Day remains very popular today.
Initially, thousands of years ago people in Europe looked to the badger for the prediction of the
arrival of spring. They watched the badger to determine when to plant their crops. However, since
badgers were scarce in Pennsylvania, the groundhog took over this duty. Tradition holds that if the
groundhog sees his shadow on February 2nd it will be scared and return to its burrow, signaling
that there will be six more weeks of winter. If his shadow is not seen then spring is on its way
(Groundhog). The famous Punxsutawney Phil, gets his name from the Indian name for the location
ponksad uteney which means the town of sandflies (Groundhog 1017).
Prior to Groundhog Day German settlers, performed the tradition of Candlemas Day (Groundhog
2017). Candlemas Day involved clergy blessing candles and distributing them to everyone in the
dark cold days of winter, the people placed a lighted candle in each window of their home
(Groundhog 2017). If on February 2nd the sun came out there would be six more Yohe 2

Digestive System Vs Urinary System
In exploring module 5, much information was able to be learned about the structure, function, and
age associated changes or dysfunctions of both the digestive system and the urinary system of the
human body. Although through the exploration of this module, I have learned that the digestive
system and the urinary system are comprised of their own distinct features and functions, I would
say the most significant knowledge I have gained from module 5 would be that of the digestive
system. More specically, the most significant knowledge that was gained of the digestive system
itself, was that of the actual digestive processes. The process of digestionis a complex series of
activities including ingestion, propulsion, mechanical or physical digestion,... Show more content on

Ingestion is the act of food actually entering the alimentary canal through the mouth, where said
food is chewed and mixed with saliva from the glands in our mouth. The act of chewing and
mixing the food with saliva initiates the digestion process, breaking down some carbohydrate
with some lipids and enables the food to be formed into a bolus so this food can be swallowed.
After this first process, the second process of propulsion takes place, which is accomplished be the
act of swallowing the food itself and the act of peristalsis. Peristalsis moves food through the
esophagus to the stomach via alternating waves of muscle contractions in the esophagus, where
once the food has made its way to the stomach by the process of propulsion the next process of
mechanical occurs in the stomach. Although yes, the act of chewing the food in the mouth is a
form of mechanical digestion, mechanical digestion also occurs in the stomach where the food is
churned in order to be broken down even further and also occurs in the small intestines where
muscles continue to further break down the food into smaller pieces. As for chemical digestion, it
has previously been mentioned that this process initiates in the mouth via the breakdown of
carbohydrates by enzymes in the

Describe What Montessori Meant by “New Education”
Dr Maria Montessori dedicated and committed her life into education of the children. She has
witnessed through some years with wars and conflicts and she thought; through education this can
be turned into peace to this world. Since the year 1907 Montessori name has been recognized in
the education system. Even though it has been over a century to this date Montessori principles are
as powerful as it was. Dr Maria Montessori has relied on her actual observations on children to
develop her method of education. During these observations she has discovered that each child has
their own urge to learn through their own way. She brought to light that children has an enormous
ability which can be turned into positive energy and a new beginning.... Show more content on

They can spend a very long time for example changing their shoes into slippers when they arrive
at the nursery in the morning. While child is taking his shoes off parents/carers cannot help but
taking over the action in order to get it finished and done with. They often lose their patience
and complain that their child is taking such a long time! Or they cannot help but saying Let me
do that for you . What adults expect is an adult speed from the children. Montessori says, He is
following a timetable like the most diligent scholar in the world following it with the unshakable
constancy of the stars in their courses. (Maria Montessori: Her Life and Work, Chapter 8,
p.125). It is important that in order to help little children, adults firstly needs to learn to respect
the rhythm of children. She stressed that children will repeat the same thing over and over. For
example a child in the nursery picking the same book each time he is asked to choose a book for
teacher to read to children. Another example of a child in the nursery who is choosing the very
same practical life transferring water with a turkey baster activity each morning at the arrival of
the nursery and going back to it though out the day. Montessori says Now by the very boredom
you have experienced in thus repeating and repeating this same exercise, you will be able to
measure that imperious inner urge that drives the children to do the same thing. (Maria Montessori:

Sustainable Design Versus Aesthetic Design
Design is that area of human experience, where skill and knowledge is concerned with man s
ability to mould the environment according to his material and spiritual needs. It is used to analyse
and identify problems to find an appropriate solution. Designers have created all kind of functional
designs to help improve people s lives. They were interested in the nature of beauty, art, and taste
and with the creation and appreciation of beauty. Although there are examples of pre historic art,
they are rare and the guidelines that they followed are not so clear, Thus the aesthetic doctrines that
guided their production and interpretation one mostly unknown. However, recently designer notice
what happing to the world such as global worming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, these cultural aesthetic merits have been undermined by very restricted pro
environmental guidelines (Donald et al, 2008) such as, The Design Accord. As a result, modern
architecture has lost the engagement with the local cultural identity and the sense of creativity has
been reduced (Donald et al, 2008). Where experimenting and exploiting the plant resources will
result in a better world than trying to protect the environment (Donald et al, 2008). A good
architecture does not need any ethical diminution and responsibility regarding the environment and
just design for the design sake (Donald et al, 2008).
What they both fails to consider is that the aesthetic value and the environment value, if they are
used together it will benefit the design. Good design should have the flexibility, creativity and
responsible design approaches and methods, and also good communication (Wolf 2010). According
to Meyer (2008) the aesthetic value could increase the functionality of a particular the design. He
also states that In designing urban eras parks consider as aesthetic value, but it also has an
important effect on the environment in two ways: they are environment cleaning machines and
shady groves of trees reducing temperatures, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen.

Goat Monologue
People have always said that I remind them of a stock broker. The more stock (animals) the
broker I become. After 16 years I think I found out why, walking into the barn at 7 a.m. to feed
and take care of all my animals. Hearing the big ewe lambs screaming for food, the noisy pigs
going crazy fighting with each other to get into the self feeder, and of course the crazy goats
climbing along the fences screaming for food. Feeling the dew getting on my shoes making
them wet as I walk through the grass. My mornings are always made when the first thing I wake
up to is my babies (my animals). The lambs covered in wool trying to barge through to get food
but are too big to squeeze in. Of course the crazy goats being mean as always fighting the little...

Man oh man do I love waking up every three hours to check on the ewes to make sure they re still
okay. But once you walk out the back door and hear the first little heart warming baa i m in love.
It s almost like having a newborn baby by your side, well I wouldn t know what that feels like
but i ve heard many stories. Having a newborn baby and having a newborn baby goat or lamb is
as heartwarming as ever. From being able to sit out in the freezing cold barn letting them wear
cute little doggy sweaters to keep them warm to watching them grow up to be perfect show
animals. Bringing them little treats every so often, well let s be honest I do it everyday. Sticky,
gooey treats every day after school to spoil them more and more. Getting them hooked as babies
is even better because as you see them grow and become bigger and better animals they develop
amazing personalities that only I can control. But besides that they all are able to live in a huge
barn with their buddies in a pen with them. Two animals per pen making 14 Pens in the barn.
Now feeding takes forever in the mornings and afternoons because there are so many pens to
take care of and they all get you at once. Either by being loud and obnoxious to them jumping
along the fences getting in the way of the feeders so I can t even feed them. I m trying to move
them out of the way but they keep playing

However, some controversies have managed to carry on from the 1800 s until present day without any solution. The text and symbolic meaning behind the Confederate Flag is a perfect example. The Confederate Flag is one of America s most embattled symbolic controversies. Created in 1861in a battle between the South, Confederates, and the North, Union, two men by the name P.G.T. Beauregard and Congressman William P. Miles designed and created a flag that would represent the true southern pride and demands that would not only bring about conflict with one half of the nation but also with our American society today.... Being a nation that prohibits slavery in written law, some Americans who continue to believe the false rumor that the flag represents slavery and racism or are less educated with the history behind the flag and want to get rid of it. Our society has represented the Confederate flag in a disrespectful manner and needs to change that. Hear the Northern thunders mutter! Northern flags in South s winds flutter! To Arms, To Arms, To Arms in Dixie! Send them back your fierce defiance! Stamp upon the cursed alliance! To Arms, To Arms, To Arms in Dixie! Advance the flag of Dixie! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Dixie s land we take our stand, And we live or die for Dixie! To Arms! To Arms! And conquer peace for Dixie! To Arms! To Arms! And conquer peace for Dixie! Confederacy chant. Many people praise it, display it, and chant it, yet others view it with pure disgust. Once again, the Confederate or Rebel Flag has been shoved onto the table of debate due to the raising of the flag in front of the South Carolina State House. So much debate has arose that President Obama was questioned where this flag should be placed? President Obama replied with a very considerate answer. His answer was, In a museum. But why would he want to take down the flag and retire it? Many have applauded him upon the issue, yet others are left confused as to why? Many people fly the Confederate Flag with pride and none of which are racist. In fact, the flag does not even represent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes a career can be made out of musical endowment, and that is what Billie Holiday did. Billie had a life that she may not have dreamed of since it started out rough with her mistreatment from adults and discouraging misfortunes, but she was ambitious and that showed through her singing career. Billie could usually adapt to her life s problems except for her drug addiction and alcohol abuse, which unfortunately led to her demise. She was a talented woman who sang and helped create hit songs that aided her to rise to fame. Billy Holiday, formally known as Eleanora Fagan, was born on April 7, 1915, to thirteen year old Sadie Fagan and Clarence Holiday, who was fifteen at the time. Life began dismally for Holiday since her father picked his own career in music over his family. He was a jazz musician who played the banjo and guitar (Bush). School was not a priority for Holiday since she had limited schooling and her mother would often leave her with relatives to care for her (Bush). Billie s family was poor, and she had a life of pain, struggling, and disturbance ahead of her. As a child Holiday would help out at a brothel by running errands for prostitutes, because in the sitting room of the brothel she could listen to Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong music ( Billie Holiday ). • 7. Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand not only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia. This sets the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the book, which is a major theme that Willa Catherutilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this Romantic description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land while he travels to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards philosophical meaning. Through this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s narration of the nature around him works to highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank slate, which intertwines the land and Jim together. This is furthered through the progression of the land and Jim, as they progress into godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance between Modernism and Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of Cather, thus leading to a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his word choice in describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state is important, as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike his hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. • 8. Pleural Intervention Essay Pleural involvement in CT can be seen as pleural effusion, plaques, discrete pleural nodules, or a combination. Pleural biopsy and pleural fluid cytologic examination are usually early steps in the diagnostic workup of patients with pleural based masses. Primary pleural lymphoma is extremely rare. By contrast, pleural involvement by systemic lymphoma is relatively common. Approximately 16% of patients with non Hodgkin lymphoma present with, or subsequently develop, pleural involvement during the course of disease. Pleural involvement can be unilateral or bilateral and is more common on the left side (Vega et al., 2006). Pleural effusion in patients with lymphoma may be either due to actual pleural disease or reactive in nature (Fig.37). 18F FDG... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... PET may provide complementary information to conventional staging as it is highly sensitive in detecting nodal and extra nodal involvement by most histological subtypes of lymphoma prior to and following treatment. In lymphoma staging, PET/CT tends to upstage rather than downstage tumors (Okada et al., 2010). 18F FDG PET can be used for detecting most types of lymphoma. However, even if the 18F FDG PET scan is positive in a pattern that is highly suggestive of lymphoma, diagnosis of lymphoma requires histological confirmation. The major utility of 18F FDG PET in diagnosis is often in directing a biopsy. PET can also be used to guide biopsies to the site of highest 18F FDG uptake, representing the most aggressive site of lymphoma. 18F FDG PET may identify other involved regions, which can be biopsied at much lower morbidity (Delbeke et al, 2009). The advantages of 18F FDG PET/CT for the staging and restaging of both NHL and Hodgkin disease are mostly attributed to the detection of 18F FDG avid, normal sized lymph nodes (usually 1 cm), and of extra nodal sites that were previously missed at CT (most commonly the liver, spleen, cortical bone, bone marrow, and skin). Child labor was once an immense issue in the United States; however, we now have laws protecting children from dangerous working conditions. Unfortunately, children in countries like India and Africa are still falling victim to harsh working conditions. These developing nations have the same problem that the United Stateshad years ago; children are working long hours with little pay and are working in very dangerous environments. India and Africa have industries that are growing rapidly, but because these nations are so poor, they have to rely on children to do most of the work because it is the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was the start of child labor issues in the United States. To help support the family, every available family member had to become employed, and the children had the worst working conditions out of anyone. They often worked ten to fourteen hours a day with usually no breaks during work shifts. Rural families also thought it was in their best interest to move to the city. Unfortunately, the children in rural areas also went through most of the same conditions. They worked long hours just like the factory children, and they also were not supervised as much, so there was more of a possibility for things to go wrong (Rich). The main problem with this is the obvious problem; this is mistreatment towards the youth and extremely dangerous and unfair. Fortunately, the rest of the country thought the same way and laws were put in place. According to Child Labor Public Education Project, between the years of 1918 and 1926, Child Labor laws were passed that protected children. Children with non agricultural jobs that have hazardous situations and tasks have to be at least eighteen years old. For agricultural employment with hazardous situations the minimum age was set at sixteen years of age (Harkin). Another issue surrounding child labor in the United States was children were not getting an education because he or she was always working. Children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the blog, she talks about how she doesn t want her children to catch a preventable disease just because some parents think they know better than doctors. The argument can be made that vaccines have ingredients that can be harmful to small children. Individuals also donate a substantial portion of their time to charities, time estimated to be worth roughly the equivalent of the financial contributions (Smith 1980). Given these statistics, it is easy to see why the charity donor relationship is so important to charitable organizations. However, a study conducted for the Direct Marketing Association revealed that donors also feel it is important to have meaningful relationships with nonprofit organizations (Association Management 1996). And yet, the desire for close relationships does not guarantee full coffers or a full roster of volunteers. Mark Powell from bibleodyssey.org has a very different stance than I do. He argues that Pilate condemned Jesusto death and had him tortured and crucified . Mandatory Voting According to Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary, the definition of a vote is, A formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice. When forced to make a choice, are you still making that choice? Compulsory voting, or mandatory voting, is a system in which electors are required to vote in electionsor at least attend a polling place on ElectionDay. If a voter does not appear at a polling place, and is eligible to vote, he or she may have to contribute community service or fines. This voting system exists in about a quarter of all democracies in the world. The core goals of compulsory voting are to increase voter turnout and to have an election reflect the will of all citizens. However, it is improbable that this form of voting would truly change the government to be more inclusive of those non voters than it is currently. The artist was either male or female, we don t know exactly, but we do know they were from the Mixtec culture that included the regions of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Ouebla, Mexico. Furthermore knowing the artists culture we have a better understanding of the significance of the representation of the QuetzalcГіatl (feathered serpent) on this three dimensional plate. The plate itself seems to be 10 inches wide and symmetrical. The feathered god covers the whole diameter of the plate. Though it s called a plate, we can speculate that this wasn t a traditional plate for food, but rather than a plate to show sacredness of the mighty god. The artist s palate of colors that they chose is red , brown and white. In the artist s palate, the color red is very relevant to the subject of QuetzalcГіatl. This color covers the whole plate showing how significant red is to this piece of artwork. Correspondingly this red isn t a normal bright red, but more of a mahogany red to represent the symbolism of blood within the story of QuetzalcГіatl. The Indianapolis Musuem of Art explains, QuetzalcГіatl was an important Mesoamerican hero god who created humanity from his own blood. 1 The red symbolizes blood because of the connection of the color red, blood is red and also this piece is mostly red, so we can speculate that the artist chose the color red to connect the story of QuetzalcГіatl making humanity from his own blood. Similarly the brown on the serpent, even has a reddish tint to it. It is evident ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the market is too small for such exclusive rights. On top of the above, there is this problem of the Lebanese retailers ability to purchase Disney merchandise from US or European Disney licenses wholesalers and resell it in Lebanon. Moreover, DCPEME was looking into several different distribution options. One was to rely on the company?s licenses? current distributors, while also encouraging its worldwide licenses not represented in Lebanon to sign agreements with one of these distributors. A problem with the above mentioned approach is that current official distributors might not have the motivation or financial strength to distribute more Disney products and in turn favor other products yielding higher margins. Another option was to identify existing Lebanese distributors that might sell Disney products not yet present in the market, but this approach would mean a challenge of coordinating and supporting organizations unfamiliar with Disney products. Finally, DCPEME could license one or more Disney Corner within existing retail stores. 3. The Disney brand was regarded as a high value label, and it was believed that using ...
