This document summarizes the school turnaround efforts at BArT from 2008-2009. It overviews how the school adopted the state's Essential Conditions for School Effectiveness framework through curriculum alignment, data-driven instruction, and increased learning time. It also details how the school implemented response to intervention supports, interim assessments, and targeted teacher observations and feedback to improve student outcomes. As a result, the school met AYP targets and saw dramatic growth in MCAS scores from 2008 to 2009, with students exceeding growth in sending districts.
