in blue jeains and a leather jacket. James Dean was similarly dressed in his film Rebel Without A
Cause. Together, Dean and Brando inspired a generation of younug men to emulate their attiude
and style. Jeans, leather, oots and a white t-shirt fast became a symbal of teenage rebellion for boys.
Of course, not all teenage boys adapted that look. Elvis Persley’s style also struck a chord with
the teen market. Long sideburns, bright colours and sharp, flashy suits were very trendy.
