2.
There’s no specific costume as such for the
dance genre, not like there is in rock or folk.
However there are a certain number of reoccurring features in artists costume.
These features are as follows.
3.
More or less everyone in the dance genre just
wears comfortable clothes. Most of them are
expensive, but nothing too flashy.
Usually just a shirt, jeans and more often than
not a hat.
It is usually modern brands that are in fashion
at that time.
Colours can vary between sub genres as the
heavier music will opt for black and the
lighter usually blues and greys.
4.
Any jewellery worn is usually expensive.
Big watches
Diamond ear studs. Bangles
Heavier music has more chains, wacky
hairstyles and piercings, while…
Lighter music tends to stay with
the expensive watches if they
wear any at all.
Guetta’s
bangles
Skrillex’s
stretchers and
hair

7.
Possible Tattoo on shoulder
Slit eyebrow
Plain back cap
Big watch
Headphones (only in the FAP when he is
supposed to be performing)
8. As my main artist will be just one man, the cover will only feature
him. However, the double page spread will feature multiple varieties of
him in one image. This will be to show that he is a one man band. His
costume may vary slightly in each iteration of him i.e. wearing a jacket in
one and not in another. His whole outfit is designed to signify danger.
Playing on the stereotype that all youths (especially ones who dress like
this) are criminals. The clothing will be mainly black and white... white
shirt and trainers with black trousers and cap. However, this artists
trademark bandanna will be bright red, to signify danger and
violence, and to add visual interest. The bright red will be the only part of
the image with colour, this is to symbolise how much he stands out from
everyone else.
