Facts About Thai Food!
    Thai food is well known for it being spicy and hot. It is
cooked with basic ingredients like fresh
basil, coriander, lime, lemon grass, garlic and ginger!
      Thai food is most popular because of its wonderful blend
of five basic flavours-Hot, Sweet, Sour, Salty and Bitter.
     Thai food is popular almost everywhere in the world. The
kind of meat can be chosen among seafood, chicken, pork or
beef. Some famous Thai dishes are-

Coconut Custard Pudding!
                                       Ingredients!
   Serves: 8
   2 large eggs
   55g palm sugar
   1 1/2 cups (375ml) coconut cream
   3 pandan leaves, cut into 3 cm lengths
   1 tablespoon agar powder
   1 1/2 cups (375ml) water
   1/3 cup (90g) white sugar


                                Preparation method!
   Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Extra time:2 hours, setting
    1.
   To make the custard whisk the eggs with the palm sugar, coconut cream and pandan leaves so the
    pandan aroma is imparted to the eggs. Strain the mixture and set aside.
    2.
   Place the agar powder and water in a small saucepan and heat until the agar is completely dissolved.
    Add the sugar and cook until dissolved. Do not boil.
    3.
   Add the custard to the agar and lightly cook for 2 minutes then remove from the heat. Do not boil.
    4.
   Pour the mixture into 250ml moulds and let set completely; about 2 hours. Remove from the moulds
    and serve.
Fruits!
 In Thailand people often serve fruit after
their meal. Native fruits include rambutan
and
lychees, papaya, jackfruit, mango, mangoste
en, langsat, longan, pomelo, pineapple, rose
apples, durian.


The durian fruit smells

with meat or seafood. In the north, sticky rice is (Khoa niao)
served in bamboo baskets and eaten with spoons called Chon.
People from Thailand also use forks (som), for serving food (but
never for eating with). One of Thailand’s most popular dishes is
Khao niao mamunan which is sliced mangoes with rice cooked
in coconut milk. Rice is also made into flour and used in many
recipes!
  In Central Thailand Jasmine rice is eaten. The famous
Jasmine rice is indigenous to Thailand and was named Kao
Horm!
