3. Hypothesis (Choose one of each)
• Gases inside the bottle expands when the
temperature increases.
• Gases inside the bottle contracts when the
temperature increases.

4. MATERIALS
•A rigid plastic bottle with a lid
•A straw
•Play dough.
•Coloured water.

5. PROCEDURE
• 1.- Make a hole on top of the lid
• 2.- Put a Straw and seal it with Playdough.
• 2.- Fill half bottle with coloured water.
• 3.- Heat the air inside the bottle.

6. OBSERVATION
• Water rises up the straw when the temperature
increases.

7. CONCLUSION
•The heat from your hand warms
the air and it expands pushing the
water up.
