2. Overview
• “Teenosaurus ” is a project made by
teenagers for the next generation.
• The game aims to expand the common
knowledge in a fun and engaging way.
• The focus of the game is on dinosaurs, a
group of animals which became extinct 66
million years ago.
3. How it all started
• Why?
Technology has known an immense development in
the last decades so we wanted to celebrate its utility
by creating an interactive game, which would enrich
the player’s culture.
• The topic?
Dinosaurs are an intriguing species, discovered thanks
to passionate archaeologists and science researchers.
There is a constant hype in the media about these
mysterious creatures, so we chose to unravel the
scientific truths in a tech-friendly way.
4. The Concept
• Technology comes with both advantages and
risks. Nowadays, most children are spending an
amount of time on their computers/ tablets/
playstations. We don’t address the limitation of
time, which is the concern of the parents, but the
quality and the usefulness of the time spent
online .
• We believe interactive games have a great
potential to educate and broaden an individual’s
imagination.
5. Learning by playing
• Individuals generally divide their time in two
categories: work/learning time and leisure time.
• There is a great sense of achievement when one
learns something useful in the free time.
• The amount of things learned thanks to the
“Teenosaurus” game is likely to be processed
faster because it’s a type of multimedia
learning, where a person uses both auditory and
visual stimuli in order to memorize an
information.
6. The Target Users
• The target audience is represented by
children, because we believe the methods and
instruments of learning should always evolve.
• We strongly believe in the next generation
and we wanted to find an alternative so that
they could perceive the teaching process
as a fascinating experience.
7. The Story
• The story is simple and has a nice flow so it can be easily
followed by the target users: the children.
• A little boy, Christopher pays a visit to the local museum
and discovers a time machine which takes him back in time,
when dinosaurs were alive. The time machine broke and its
pieces have to be found in the wilderness. Chistopher
experiences an exciting adventure and eventually returns
home, knowing more about dinosaurs.
• Nota Bene: Not all the dinosaurs have lived on Earth in the
same period of time (it varies from 231 -66 million years
ago), but it was crucial to us to include them all in the
game.
8. Scientific facts
• Accuracy of the scientific documentation is the
key in our game. We carefully selected facts only
from certified sources and integrated them into
the game in a simplified way.
• Every time the character encounters a dinosaur,
the gamer is provided with some interesting
facts about it.
• The player is tested from time to time with some
basic questions to ensure that he was fully
engaged in the act of learning.
9. Technical details
• ‘Teenosaurus’ is a game made in Game Maker, using a
programming language like C++.
• The game has three levels and the character is provided
with three chances to restart.
• The game is structured so that the player can distinguish
the dinosaurs which pose a threat to his life from the
ones which can facilitate his journey.
• The characters, animation and background were drawn
by ourselves, using Paint Tool Sai and Adobe Photoshop.
10. Impact & the future
• In our vision, this game isn’t only a learning
instrument, but also a concept which should
represent the future.
• Information can be easily disseminated in this
captivating and fun way, and players can
continue to learn interesting facts after
finishing the game, by visiting the social media
channels of “Teenosaurus” which are
constantly updated.
11. Making of
• We are a team of three members, who worked hard
to create the game by ourselves, under the guidance
of our teacher, Camelia Mereuta.
• We divided the tasks in three categories:
information& presentation, the actual coding of the
game and the graphic design.
• We constantly got inspired from our younger
relatives in order to make the game appealing to
them.
