Technology Use vs. Technology Integration
Technology Use Things that are being used in a classroom that do not interact with students It is a show that is being put on only by the teacher
Examples of Technology Use An overhead projector A cd player Showing students a website on the computer
Technology Integration Teachers effectively use technology with their students in the classroom to help instruct all subjects Allows students to become more active in learning Keeps growing… there are more things being added to the classroom each year.
Examples of Technology Integration Interactive Whiteboards Blogging Wikis Podcasting Chatting Software
A difference? There is a difference between use and integration, but I think it is up to the teacher to determine which one they use in their classroom. If you want the students to become involved and interested, INTEGRATION is what teachers need to do in their classroom
Technology Integration in the Classroom Interactive Whiteboard: can be used as a regular whiteboard, but it is much more interactive with the students… they are able to go up and draw and play on it with the computer Very easy for the teacher to use
Summary… At the end of the day, it depends on the teacher and how much they want to integrate technology It takes a lot of time and effort to get yourself acquainted with all the new technology, but I think it is all worth it because it will enhance my student’s learning so much
