Why develop a Technology Use Plan? It is a plan which is developed to: Ensure the effective use of technology in education Ensure 21st. Century  Learning  skill development Guide Professional Development for staff Encourage Collaboration Focus on unified technology goals
Members of the Technology Use Plan District Coordinators School-based Administration (ie. Principal &        Junior Admin.) Teaching Staff as a whole Project leaders on staff School Council Members (ie. Parents)   Student leaders
Steps in Developing a Technology Use Plan? 1. Assess school's level of technology readiness and usage. 2. Establish Technology Planning Committee 3. Establish a Vision for technology in the school 4. Dedicate a portion of school Budget to new technology purchases and project initiatives.
Steps in Developing a Technology Use Plan? 5. Communicate technology objectives to all stakeholders involved. 6.  Provide Professional Development and support for staff 7. Have lead teachers role model effective use of technology in education.
Vision Statement In the 21st Century classroom, technology will be used in an effective manner to engage students and enhance curricular objectives.
Technology Plan Goals/Objectives 1. Introduce effective use of technology in the classroom. 2. Develop SmartBoard Lessons. ie. For other French Immersion teachers in the District. 3. Digital Literacy Initiatives 4. Increase communication home with technology 5. Web 2.0 Utilized for Projects 6. 1:1 Mobile labs- Laptops on carts
