2 nd Grade Harriet Tubman Harriet Tubman was a conductor on the Underground Railroad. She helped hundreds of slaves find freedom. Drinking Gourd The Drinking Gourd is a constellation of stars. When you look at the Drinking Gourd it has the North Star. The Drinking Gourd is also known as the Big Dipper. It was a code name the slaves used to talk about the North Star. If they followed the North Star it would take them North to freedom.
