Technology integration is not simply using computers to deliver instruction or for drill-and-practice activities. True integration occurs when teachers use technology to introduce, reinforce, extend, enrich, assess, and remediate students' mastery of curriculum targets. While specialists can model integration, only classroom teachers can fully integrate technology with their regular content area teaching. Accepting change, like technological advances, is difficult but necessary for effective integration. Leaders recognize students must learn technology skills to prepare for the future.
