Most teachers can turn on/off and use the basic functions – now they need more training on how to EFFECTIVELY use technology</li></li></ul><li>Statement of the Problem<br />Teachers<br />need to learn how to integrate technology effectively<br />have an attitude toward technology that helps or hinders their successful integration (Mueller, et al., 2008)<br />need to feel like they have a say in how technology is integrated <br />have perceptions about the technology coordinator’s job that affect their integration<br />Monte Gardens Elementary needs an integration plan to help the teachers use recently purchased technology effectively. <br />

Background and Need<br />Many Factors Contribute to the Successful Integration of Technology <br />Attitude<br />Prior experience with technology<br />Prior education with technology<br />Reason for integration<br />Beliefs surrounding technology as a teaching tool<br />Using effective technology while teaching, can significantly increase students’ knowledge, however, the key is that it must be effective… and you must receive training in how to do this!<br />

Purpose of Project<br />Effectively introduce document cameras and LCD projectors to the Monte Gardens staff.<br />Educate the staff on techniques that can be used with document cameras to enhance their standards-based lessons.<br />Teach the staff how to make meaningful cross-curricular connections using technology.<br />Create a reference guide so that teachers have a resource at their finger-tips describing some technical how-to’s<br />

Project Objectives<br />Specific Outcomes of this Project:<br />Staff will know how to use the technologies at Monte Gardens Elementary.<br />Staff will integrate technology into lessons as it is appropriate.<br />Students will be exposed to more technology-enriched lessons.<br />Staff will use the technology coordinator as a resource for both integration questions and technological support.<br />
