Summary Our goal: • Sell small electro-medical devices for competitive prices. • Raise the quality of the health system in poor areas. • Help other companies and NGOs with similar values to the ours. Our first product is a low-cost heart-rate measure and our geographical area of interest (for the moment) is west-Africa

3. Major causes of Death in west-Africa Neonatal causes 18% HIV/AIDS 4% Diarrhoeal diseases 19% Measles 3% Malaria 20% Pneumonia 23% Injuries 2% Others 11% (WHO Mortality fact sheet 2006). Still unsolved problems there, in fact they are still in the list GOAL 6 of the Millennium Development Goals – Framework for Action U.N.D.P. And related to the reduction of the child mortality (GOAL 4) and the improvement of the maternal health (GOAL 5).

5. There is a large volume of “potential” customers at the base of the pyramid !!! Poor as active market Poor as an intractable problem where We just volunteer
