How Take pictures from microscope field
1- Start holding the lens of the camera of your m-phone at about 10 cm from one of the
eyepieces of the microscope.
2-Identify the pinhead light at the center of the eyepiece of the microscope.
3-Turn the flash of your camera off. Now frame that pinhead light on the screen of your m-
phone, holding the phone with one hand.
4-Now join the thumb and the index finger of the other hand to form a ring around the
eyepiece. This ring will work as a cushion between the phone and the eyepiece supporting the
m-phone and protecting from external light as a soft washer.
5- Carefully keeping the light at the center of the screen of your m- phone, slowly approach the
lens to the eyepiece never loosing the frame, and see how the pinhead light widens to the point
that you can recognise the microscopic field.
6-Approach further until you reach the soft washer made of your joint thumb and index fingers,
and let the m-phone perfectly adhere to that cushion, then gently but firmly press the m-phone
against your fingers until you see a perfect round image of the microscopic field and no external
light is allowed between the lens and the eyepiece of the microscope.
7-Keep your m-phone steady, check that the microscopic field is perfectly in focus and take the
picture.
8-If at any moment you loose the frame of the microscopic field, start again from step one.

MobileDiagnosis® is an appropriate technology for tele-microscopy that was tested in rural health units in Uganda, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Health workers and laboratory technicians were able to take quality microscope images using mobile phones with only basic written instructions. The ability to immediately enlarge images on phone screens facilitated difficult diagnoses and enhanced learning when images were jointly observed and discussed. Images shared on a web-based platform also allowed distant diagnosis and clinical/educational support from overseas experts. Initial experience shows this approach can be easily used for distance learning and tutoring, with local health workers enthusiastically responding to feeling part of a wider network.

The diopter is the unit of measurement for the refractive power of a lens. Myopia is a form of refractive error which is a leading cause of visual disability throughout the world. The prevailing treatment of refractive errors which are commonly used in daily life are glasses and contact lenses. Although those methods can overcome myopia, many myopia patients still don’t really know how to measure their current refractive error in diopter. This condition may retard the progression of refractive treatment in the myopic individual. The common methods to measure refractive error are phoropter with Snellen chart and retinoscopy, but those expensive tools need expertise to operate. This paper presents the concept of measure the face to smartphone screen distance to provide the possibility to implement a mobile application as a low-cost alternative refractive measurement tool. The main objective is to investigate the feasibility of mobile application to help patients with myopia measuring their blur line distances and evaluate their diopter levels independently. The experimental results reveal that, with 80.5 usability score the overall functionality of proposed application can be categorized as usable to users and feasible for future implementation.

Livia will be traveling to India and Nepal from September 8-17 to present on and demonstrate MobileDiagnosis. In India, she will present at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai on September 8 and at an IEEE symposium on September 11. On September 12, she will travel to Delhi. From September 15-27, she will be in Assam demonstrating MobileDiagnosis at various medical colleges and facilities and providing training. From October 6-17, Livia will travel to Nepal to present the Wireless Village Project in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the village of Nangi.

This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. 2. How Take pictures from microscope field 1- Start holding the lens of the camera of your m-phone at about 10 cm from one of the eyepieces of the microscope. 2-Identify the pinhead light at the center of the eyepiece of the microscope. 3-Turn the flash of your camera off. Now frame that pinhead light on the screen of your m- phone, holding the phone with one hand. 4-Now join the thumb and the index finger of the other hand to form a ring around the eyepiece. This ring will work as a cushion between the phone and the eyepiece supporting the m-phone and protecting from external light as a soft washer. 5- Carefully keeping the light at the center of the screen of your m- phone, slowly approach the lens to the eyepiece never loosing the frame, and see how the pinhead light widens to the point that you can recognise the microscopic field. 6-Approach further until you reach the soft washer made of your joint thumb and index fingers, and let the m-phone perfectly adhere to that cushion, then gently but firmly press the m-phone against your fingers until you see a perfect round image of the microscopic field and no external light is allowed between the lens and the eyepiece of the microscope. 7-Keep your m-phone steady, check that the microscopic field is perfectly in focus and take the picture. 8-If at any moment you loose the frame of the microscopic field, start again from step one.
