2. Front Cover
Denotations Connotations
The digipak for the The fact that the artist is
Eminem show denotes a sitting down with his hands
male sitting down on a in front of his mouth could
stage. The stage is red show he is thinking or
and has red curtains that reflecting on something.
are slightly open and the The artist has had a bad
male is exposed. He is past so he could be
not stood in the reflecting on this. He is not
spotlight. There is a stood in the spotlight
microphone but he is sat maybe because he does not
with his hands in front of want to be seen. The
his mouth. The artists curtains may be slightly
name is written in white open to expose him so that
3d text and the name of he can not hide because
the album is underneath celebrities do not get any
but smaller. There is a privacy when their in the
parental advisory for this spotlight. The white 3d text
album as the artist is is bold and as it is quite a
known for swearing. simple cover the 3d text
makes it stand out a bit
more.
3. Redundancy
This digipak is very redundant it is simply just a man sat
on a stage, there are meanings behind it but it is not very
creative and there is no entropy. I have seen this is most
of the digipaks I have looked at in this genre so I will
consider this when making my own digipak.
4. Back Cover
The back cover of the
album is quite simple,
its still set on the
stage, the microphone
is up and there is a
spotlight. The tracklist
consisting of 20 songs
is written in a small
white font on the left
side of the cover. The
cover also has a
barcode, the logo of
the record company
and other details. I
will remember these
little details when
designing my own
digipak.
5. CD
The CD again uses the image
of the curtain, it also uses the
same text that is on the front
of the album. From looking at
this album I have seen that
very little creativity has gone
into it. I hope to make my
digipak a little more
interesting whilst still sticking
to my genre.
