APPROACH--- Theoretical positions and beliefs about the nature of
language, its learning and the applicability of both of them to the pedagogical
settings.
Methods and materials are selectedonthe basis of different ELT Approaches.
By the end of this presentation, participants of the TEFL WORKSHOP
should be able to
Outline student-centered teaching and learning methods & materials.
Explain how different methods and subsequent materials can be used in
the best possible way in a lesson.
Implement appropriate methods and materials for ELT teaching and
learning process in order to expedite learning of the students.
To make an informed choice of teaching methods and materials the ELT
Teacher must know:
The teaching methods and materials available,
Strengths and weaknesses of each of them,
The purpose of each of them and how they can be used.
The recommended teaching method recently is the participatory teaching
method and the teacher who follows it is known as a Reflective Teacher
believing in Constructivist Learning Theory.
Definition, classification, a framework and principles for ELT Materials.
Adoption, Development and adaptation of the materials.
