National Museum Research Paper
Essay #1
I have always loved the National Museum of Natural History, ever since I visited for the first
time in fourth grade. My favorite exhibitions are definitely those dealing with animals or space,
but I cannot pick a favorite. When I found out about the opportunity to volunteer at the museum, I
was extremely excited, since the program seemed to be perfect for me. I have experience in
teaching and talking in front of groups of people, but I want to take it a step further by talking and
being a guide in a busier, more demanding setting. Plus, volunteering at the museum would be a
dream come true since I could see the exhibitions every other week; you learn something new every
time you visit. Lastly, and least importantly, I want to volunteer... Show more content on

I want to be a surgeon, which will require me to take intensive science courses. My desire to work
in the health field was solidified after I went to the 2015 Congress of Future Medical Leaders.
At the congress, I met people like Sir Richard Roberts, the winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize in
Physiology, Robert Darling, Bill Clinton s personal physician, and Jack Andraka, a boy who
created a method for detecting early stages of pancreatic cancer when he was my age. I was
inspired by their speeches and the fact that they were once my age; it made my dream to be a
surgeon seem much more realistic and attainable. I even had a personal conversation with Mr.
Darling, who told me that all I needed in order to reach my dream is tenacity. The most inspiring
speech, however, was given by a woman named Carmen Tarleton. She suffered a brutal attack in
which her face was doused in industrial grade lye, and she was reduced to becoming a living
corpse. However, a group of surgeons gave her a full face transplant and she is now a force to be
reckoned with. I knew, at that moment, that I wanted to help people like her, and that scientific
progress is the reason she is still

Drug Use In Sports Essay
Playing professional football in the National Football League can be an extremely violent and
dangerous profession. Every play, physically gifted and skilled athletes collide during practices
and games resulting in many injures. Players are often prescribed painkillers such Percocets and
Vicodin to deal with the pain, however they can become very addicting. Due to painkillers high
risk of substance abuse by NFL players the league has since looked into other remedies for
concussions and injuries, such as marijuana. However, should the NFL allow this drug for
recreational uses though it has named illegal in 43 states. A scientific study conducted by
researchers at Washington University in St. Louis found that, retired NFL players misuse... Show

However, NFL players are at risk of losing their jobs if they use the drug. Marijuana use is a
commonly known practice in the NFL. Former Chicago Bears player, Eben Britton, estimates over
50% to 75% of NFL players use marijuana as an alternative to painkillers. It can be a possible
preventative treatment for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) which is a neurodegenerative
brain disease caused by repeated impacts to the skull , which the blockbuster movie Concussion is
based upon (Andavolu). CTE can negatively affect the brain. Symptoms such as, aggression,
depression, suicidality, and dementia are associated with CTE. A study in 2015 at Boston
University confirmed a shocking 87 out of 91 deceased brains studied had CTE ( NFL Players
with CTE ). If marijuana can effectively prevent CTE in NFL players, it will make the game
considerably more safe for the athletes. Players prefer marijuana over painkillers because
marijuana is not addictive and will not have the same effect opioid painkillers will have when
their careers are over. Former NFL player Nate Johnson stated to CBS news reporter Barry
Petersen, Pain is constant when you play professional football for a living, it s daily pain (News).
He said he medicated with marijuana rather than painkillers because he wanted to be in control of
how to heal his body. Dr.

How Did Theodore Roosevelt s Work
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858, and experienced childhood in New York

mom, Martha Mittie Roosevelt, was a Southerner, brought on a manor up in Georgia. Teedie grew
up encompassed by the adoration for his folks and kin. In any case, he was dependably a
debilitated kid distressed with asthma. As a young person, he concluded that he would make his

This had to be done because the town was being destroyed! The hospital went bankrupt because
of all the immigrants who had no money because they had to provide them with free care. Also,
Immigrants always come first now, even before paying citizens. If there were two people in an
emergency room, a Mexican and an American, the Mexican would be cared for first even if the
American had been there first or was in greater need of care. It s hard to believe what things
have come to. Americans are beginning to take action and speak up. The majority of people say
that they would not mind immigrants if they were treated like us and had to abide by our rules.
It s not a good feeling to put your kids in the car and go out knowing that there are millions of
immigrants who have no idea how to drive out there on the road with you. Think of the danger
we are being subjected to and what makes it worse is that it s unnecessary. What would it hurt to
take a drivers test before getting out on the road? When you enter America you should be

The Interpretation Of Tempo, Dynamics And Expression...
The interpretation of Tempo, Dynamics and Expression through Instrumentation in three recordings
of Vittorio Monti s Czardas
Vittorio Monti s famous virtuosic piece Czardas has been arranged for many instruments over the
years. Being a percussionist and having played this piece I was interested in how this piece would
vary in terms of tempo, dynamics and expression due to instrumentation. I chose to compare three
recordings: one by violinist Frank Kim accompanied by piano as this represents the piece as it was
originally written for piano and violin. Frank Kim performs it with a lot of expression and extremes
of dynamic and tempo more typical of the romantic period; The Horseholm Percussion and
Marimba Ensemble which used similar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Italian composer Vittorio Monti was born in 1868 in Naples. He attended the Conservatoire
of San Pietro a Majella where he studied composition and violin, as well as playing mandolin.
When he was in his thirty s he was asked to conduct in Paris for the Lamourex Orchestra, during
this period Monti composed a number of operas and ballets such as Noel de Pierrot. In 1904 he
wrote what is probably his most famous piece, Czardas, which he based on the Hungarian folk
dance called Csardas. Although originally composed for solo violin and piano there have been
many arrangements for numerous instruments over the years. Czardas or Hungarian Czardas is a
national dance of Hungary for couples; it is written in simple time and involves forceful
syncopated rhythms. The dance starts off with a slow section called the Lassu and is followed by
a fast section called the Friss.
Monti begins his piece at a slow, broad speed marked largo this represents the lassu from the
dance. In the violin (Monti, 2015) recording the notes are very legato and there is a lot of vibrato
to add extra expression, colour and phrasing to the music. In Cambridge Companion to the violin it
states that vibrato was used...as an expressive ornament (Stowell, 1992) and used mainly for long
notes at the end of a phrase. Spohr states that there are three types of vibrato: slow for sustained
passionate melodies; accelerating for

Performance Enhancing Drugs In Sports Essay
Why are sports such a large part of society? People enjoy watching sports because most people like
competition. People enjoy competing with each other whether it is just friendly competition or as
their job. Some dislike losing so much that they will go to extremes to make sure that they are
better than their rival. They do this by using performance enhancing drugs to be better than their
opponent. Professional athletes should have to be drug tested due to the many health risks it
causes, and in many cases the use of these substances is considered cheating by many sports
organizations. Athletes go to many extremes to be able to use these performance enhancing drugs.
Occasionally the athletes will go to lengths to make them hard for tests... Show more content on

Many athletic organizations have banned athletes from using these substances; they consider the
use of these substances to be a form of cheating. Bouchard and Sprague state that some professional
athletes use steroids and other drugs to gain a competitive advantage in their sport. Such an
advantage is generally considered by most athletic organizations to be cheating. These organizations
consider performance enhancing substance use to be cheating because this gives the individual
taking the substances an unfair advantage against their opponents that do not use these drugs. The
unfair advantage that would take place in the competition would alter the true results. In any
competition breaking the rules to gain an unfair advantage is considered cheating. Dr. M Schermer
author of On the Argument that Enhancement is Cheating explains that if cheating is understood as
breaking the rules in order to gain an unfair advantage over other, it can be argued that some
enhancements are a form of cheating. If the sport of activity an athlete is participating in has
specific rules that prohibit the use of certain substances and the athlete violates those rules and is
aware that they are violating the rule, then that person is considered to be cheating; if an athlete
consciously breaks a rule to gain an advantage over his or her rival, that is considered cheating. The
use of performance enhancing substances is breaking rules and cheating, according to most athletic

Dante s Hell In The Inferno
It is very interesting to me how so many individuals are able to have such extensive and varied
definitions of what they believe is right verse wrong. It is obvious that society throughout the
years has had a wide spectrum of what we believe is sin and what is not. These different lenses
can be altered by several factors such as how a person was raised, their culture, and also their
personal religious beliefs. It is essential that we learn to not understand others perspective but to
also respect their perspectives as well. The structure of Dante s Hellin the Infernois very complex

Rhetorical Analysis Of Aristotle s Theory Of Rhetoric
Rhetoric can best be explained as how a speaker uses persuasion to influence their intended
audience. Rhetoric is usually seen as a power that we as communicators are using to obtain the
belief of others. Almost everyone uses rhetoric throughout their everyday lives without even
knowing. We are constantly communicating with one another trying to prove some sort of point.
There are many different figures that played a huge role in establishing rhetoric, but Aristotleis seen
by many as the father of rhetoric. Not only does Aristotle have an influence on people of present
day, but he had an influence on other Greek philosophers such as Cicero and Quintilian. His
works established a baseline of rhetoric that many people after his time took and ran with. If he
were around today, Aristotle would be seen by many as a rhetorical leader who could possibly
end many communication differences and problems that are present in today s society. Aristotle
was born in Stagira, Greece in the year 384 B.C. His father, Nicomachus, who died when Aristotle
was a young boy, was a special court physician to the king of Macedonia (Biography, Aristotle ).
This lead Aristotle to be greatly influenced by the court of Macedonia. When he turned 17, Aristotle
set out for Athens to pursue an education at Platos Academy, which was a top of the line institute in
Greece at the time. Once Aristotle graduated from the institute, and Plato died in 347 B.C., he was
given the opportunity to be the head

The Unlikely Disciple Summary
Students at Brown University often consider taking a semester of to travel abroad or focus on a
writing project, but not Kevin Roose, a journalism student. Instead, Kevin decided to spend a
semester undercover at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia which is an institution
founded by Jerry Falwell, an ultra conservative preacher and founder of Thomas Road Baptist
Church. Roose wanted to see what conservative Christians were really like, how they truly lived.
He took notes during his time at Liberty and wrote the book The Unlikely Disciple from his own
perspective about his time there. Kevin had a very liberal, secular upbringing. He got the idea to
go undercover after he met a group of Liberty students when he was a freshman at Brown. Kevin
had never really been in contact with conservative Christian culture before and he felt that he did
not know how to communicate with them. Kevin decided to go all in. Kevin wanted to see the
real picture of how life was like at Liberty. He told everyone he was an Evangelical Christian so
that he could blend in at the school founded by the Moral Minority Leader. He lived in the dorms.

The Psychological Factors Of Coca-Cola s Advertising Campaign
When it comes to mass marketing, perhaps no one does it better than Coca Cola. Coca Cola is
successful in its recent advertising campaign Share a Coke . The main target audience of this
advertising campaign are teens and young adults. [Creamglobal.com, 2015] Coca Cola had
replaced its logo on the cans with the personal names of its customers. With that, those customers
were asked to share the customised Coca Cola bottles on social media platforms such as
Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. The offering of affordable personalised products that happened
in both the virtual and real world is what makes the campaign so successful. In today s society,
many youths wished to be special and unique. They would love to have customized or
personalized products. Taking these psychological factors into consideration, Coca Cola put
emphasis on personalization and bring a sense of ownership of the brand to its consumers. It also
engages consumers and encourages them to share the special moments with their families and
friends. As a result, Coca Cola has successfully strengthened the emotional ties with its consumers

The Business Internet. The Internet Is Constantly Developing.
The Business Internet
The Internet is constantly developing. From four computers back in the early 70 s to an
uncountable number today, the Internet has extreme power and has changed the world. In recent
years, Internet growth has been expanding more rapidly than the government can understand. The
laws and regulations of a month ago are no longer useful today. The government either has to move
quicker in deciding outcomes pertaining to the Internet or has to give up control entirely. Businesses
are making large technological advances that involve the Internet and are being held up by
government decisions. Commercialization of the Internet brings in new technologies that are
essential to growth.

military and the ARPAnet, however, did not agree with what type of protocol to use. Instead of
them sitting down and figuring out which protocol to use, the military forced ARPAnet to change
and to use the IP protocol (Abbate 133 134).
All of these developments in the field of computing continued to grow. As the Personal Computer
was born, regular old people started to find the Internet useful to them. Online services such as
America Online, Prodigy, and CompuServe started to control Internet services to the home user
(Abbate 203). As Internet needs continued to grow, more ISPs, Internet Service Providers, popped
up. Currently there are a countless number of ISPs, but people want more (Brown 2).
In order to meet these needs, different types of Internet services were born. Some services,
called Bulletin Board Services, are not directly connected to the Internet. These servers are just
local computers in the area that just require a phone call in order to be used. Ways to use
Bulletin Board Services are endless as long as the software on the server supports it. Typically
they are just used to transfer small files and to use Internet e mail while the user is not directly
connected. Generally, these are free services, but the better ones can

Anglo Saxons
Anglo Saxons He drew it From its scabbard, broke the chain on its hilt, and then, savage, now
angry And desperate, lifted it high over his head And struck with all the strength he had left ().
When thinking of Vikings one might think of a battle scene much like this. Though, this depiction
is not all that makes a Viking, or specifically an Anglo Saxon. This Germanic descent from the
Angles, Saxons, and Jutes, made an impact on what is now Britain. With literature, weapons, the
workforce, and most importantly, religion helped forge the mark by the Anglo Saxonsin Britain. The
Anglo Saxons, changed England with their way of life, religion, art and language. When Vikings
come to mind, one may think of Denmark, Norway, or Sweden. This may be true, but for these
particular Vikings, it was not the case. Anglo Saxons are in fact from Germany, Denmark, and
Northern Holland. They are called Anglo Saxons due to the people that came over were Angles,
Saxons, and Jutes. What made these Germanic descendants decide to go to Great Britain, Rome.
Rome had problems back at home which lead to them moving back to protect the Homefront.
While Britain was vacant, the Anglo Saxons took advantage of the opportunity to conquer the land
while no one was there that could put up a fight. Not only did they conquer England, but they also
gave England its name. The word England directly came from Angle Land. Which would be
appropriate considering Anglo Saxons made England their land.

The Feminization Of Poverty In The United States
The feminization of poverty is a phenomenon that stems from the gender biases and fixated gender
roles embedded in society. This occurrence is defined as the disproportionality in gender when
relating to the world s impoverished. Given that under capitalism class, race and sex issues are
augmented the global expansion of such an economic system should, in theory, result in an
exacerbation of related issues. Thus, it is critical to analyze the impact of an expanding capitalist
structure on the lived experiences of women, and in particular, women in the
Global South who occupy uniquely disadvantaged strata.

Franklin died before she was credited with her information, and still today she does not get her

her information and saw her findings they wanted to go straight and claim it as their own, but
couldn t right away because they didn t know how to explain it without Rosalind Franklin. You

Same Day Allocation
Background The same day cancellation of an elective surgery is a well researched quality problem
that can have negative consequences on many stakeholders, including the patient and their support
networks. High cancellation rates can demonstrate ineffective use of healthcare resources, deficient
surgical team morale, and decreased patient satisfaction (1). Currently, there is limited Canadian
research on the patients perspective of their surgery cancellation or postponement. Much of the
literature focuses on the incidence and causes of cancellations both in Canada and internationally
(2,3), however the time definition of when the surgery is cancelled varies between studies. Some
researchers define day of as the same calendar date; others define day of as 12:00pm or 1:00pm
the day prior to the scheduled surgery (4). Additionally, some studies have reported on only elective
cancellations, whereas others... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In previous literature, patients have demonstrated and expressed feelings of helplessness,
powerlessness and anxiety (6,9). Surgical interventions and procedures invoke strong reactions
around pain, complication risk and death for the patient and their families (5). Additionally, in the
preoperative phase of waiting to be transferred to the operating room, previous studies have shown
that this can be the most frightening time for many patients (5,6,9). When this preoperative waiting
time is compounded with the sudden cancellation or postponement of a patient s surgery, many
patients experience heightened negative effects (5,9). The aim of this study is to first identify
causes and incidence of cancellations or postponements of same day elective surgery at Lions Gate
Hospital. Secondly, the aim is also to gain a deeper perspective and understanding in the qualitative
impact and effect that day of cancellations, or postponements, has on the patient and their support
systems.

It is definitely poison free. CONS
Even though there are various benefits of organic farming there are certain issues still related to the
same such as:
The productivity of such farms is very low so it is not that feasible keeping in mind the frequent
requirement of the herbs and spices of a hotel.
The cost of setting up such farms by the hotel would be high and the hotel would be resistant to
employ such a strategy when it can fetch the things from the outer sources and if possible that too
at a low cost.
The idea to have organic farms inside the premises of the hotel might seem difficult keeping in
mind the limited area available to the hotels.

PROS
Increasing the tree cover would definitely add to greener environment
It would contribute to bringing down the temperature of the nearby areas where the hotels are

The Duty Of Care On Public Bodies
An explanation will be made on how the current law addresses the imposition of a duty of care on
public bodies. An evaluation will then be made to determine whether the duty of care the police
owe to protect individuals from a known threat should be legally recognised.
The common law duty of care was established in Donoghue v Stevenson [1932] AC 562 (HL) and
refined in Caparo Industries plc v Dickman [1990] 2 AC 605 (HL). Any party including public
authorities may owe a duty of care to another if particular conditions are fulfilled. The Caparo
conditions apply to public bodies in respect of whether it is fair, just and reasonable to impose a
duty of care on their actions.
The fundamental case to address the duty of care imposed on a ... Show more content on

Further to the general negligence position on public bodies, in instances of omissions the general
principle is that there is no duty to act unless a special relationship exists. However, there is an
exception, a duty is owed if proximity is established as demonstrated in Home Office v Dorset
Yacht Co Ltd [1970] UKHL 2.
Lord Bingham did not agree that the policy arguments established in Hill and subsequently
followed in Brooks to be appropriate in the context of Smith. In Smith he attempted to introduce a
liability principle . The principle proposed that where evidence is credible and the threat is specific
and imminent, reasonable steps must be taken to assess such a threat and act where necessary. He
did not agree that adopting the principle would induce defensive practices, neither did he agree that
accepting the principle would detract from the police s primary functions. The liability principle
reflected the content of Article 2 European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), Right to life.
Following the signing of the ECHR, the United Kingdom introduced the Human Rights Act 1998
(HRA 1998). Under s6(3)(a) HRA 1998, the courts are now considered a public body, therefore no
decisions they make can affect the guaranteed rights of any individual under ECHR. The
introduction of this legislation has resulted in individuals bringing claims for Human Rights
breaches where negligence claims have

Terrorism Impact On Terrorism
1. Introduction
Twelve years have passed since four coordinated terrorist bomb attacks occurred in central London
on the 7th of July in 2005, conducted by four suicide bombers. Three of the attacks took place in
London Underground trains, on the Circle line near Aldgate, on the Piccadilly line near Russel
Square and at Edgware Road. The fourth bomb attack happened on a double decker bus in Tavistock
Square. The attacks happened during busy rush hour and the was one hour between the three
London Underground train attacks and the attack on the bus. Fifty two people were killed and
more than 700 were injured in the attacks, the bomb attack being the worst terror attack in the UK
since the 1988 Lockerbie bombing. This terrorist attack affected people severely physically, but
most of all, emotionally. The results of a telephone survey done within the general population of
London after the July 7th bombings, show that 55% of 1,010 participants felt their life was in
danger from terrorism and 86% of the participants thought that another attack on London was likely
in the near future (Greenberg, Rubin, Wessely, 2005).
In the past decade, there have been an increased amount of terrorist attacks in Europe, such as
terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2016 and in Manchester Arena in May 2017. Whenever a
terrorist attack happens in Europe, it is widely reported on various media outlets and the extensive
media network of present day allows news to spread quickly. Consequently, even

How Long Bike Research Paper
How long should I ride on the exercise bike?
How fast do you ride a bike, 20 km / h, it is right? How long a day it is great to ride a bike?
Hoping for a quick answer so I know I am right.
It is best if you vary your workout, both in intensity and duration. The speed cycling with is not
decisive, the important thing is how difficult / you experience intense workout. Here is an
example based on the riding four days a week: Monday: 60 minutes long bike workouts. Warm up
for 5 10 minutes, gradually increasing pace and gradually increasing resistance. Then keep a steady
paced pass through. You will experience cycling as significantly challenging, but not worse than
you can manage to keep the same tempo (or almost the same pace) pass through. Strive to maintain
a pace where you move your feet with approximately 80 revolutions per minute (80 rpm). Finish ...

guideline. Maybe recommend your training cycle which revolutions per minute or so, you should
target: stay where it (for all passports). Friday: If your exercise bike has a random program / random
, set the example, and 45 60 minutes. It will be challenging but at the same time give you rest
breaks. Saturday or Sunday: Run a really long spell at 90 120 minutes in quiet but steady high
pace. Listen to music, watch TV or video, or listening to a Kassettbok the meantime, if you want a
little entertainment. NOTE! Can you not riding this much and so intensely here in the beginning so
it s okay. Run by the same principles, but only as much as you can handle.
This mix of workouts make the training more varied and fun, while it is optimal for you to do with

Job Satisfaction Is Essential For Productivity
Based on the fulfilment an individual contains towards their work is job satisfaction. The
productivity could either be positive or negative while the relationship between the productivity
and satisfaction may not be consistent. There are multiple internal and external factors of job
satisfaction that can impact the behavior of an employee and engagement over time. The way the
worker s attitude concerning their field effects the performance they perform on a daily basis. One
who is satisfied with the job they maintain, succeed at what they do. It is therefore imperative for a
company to understand the attitude of its workers and measure the job satisfaction of its
employees, as job satisfaction is essential for productivity (L. Bradshaw... Show more content on

This has to be the most massive part in determining the attitudes of employees and their job
satisfaction. When the employee is blissful, it s usually because they are satisfied with their
position in the company. Also this tends to improve the results in their work ethic. The attitude and
job satisfaction sometimes lean towards the management because of the employees. If [personnel]
enjoyed their work, they will not need external motivation from management, but instead the
satisfaction they attain from completing their work will motivate them (Robbins). Therefore, the
individual can still attain a high job productivity without having the satisfaction in their field of
work. This happens when money is just their only motivation or if they re trying to receive a
promotion. Others try to increase their productivity due to just the satisfaction they obtain from
their work socially. Another reason may also come from an employee getting a good, decent
salary. This not only improves the job satisfaction, but gives the member of staff understanding of
the fact that they get fair payment for their labors. [But] if an employee does not get satisfaction in
their work, they may seek for satisfaction in other work unrelated areas. He or she may also be
content with work as it relates with those work unrelated areas. Job dissatisfaction may also cause
an employee to quit (Robbins). In addition, empowerment is a factor that can motivate others into

Big Data has gained massive importance in IT and Business...
Big Data has gained massive importance in IT and Business today. A report recently published
state that use of big data by a retailer could increase its operating margin by more than 60 percent
and it also states that US health care sector could make more than $300 billion profit with the use
of big data. There are many other sectors that could profit largely by proper analysis and usage of

Although big data promises better margin s, more revenue and improvised operations it also brings

Texas Voter Turnout Analysis
Voter Turnout is a Turn Off Texas ranks as a relatively poor state, which directly relates to the
trouble with voter turnout. The history of voting started primarily in 1787 with the development
and implementation of the suffrage or right to vote (Newell et al. 139). This also led to states
developing qualifications for who could vote which initiated low voter turnout. Texas experiences an
unduly low voter turnout due to the history of prior restrictions in minorities.
America takes great pride in the fact that its citizens are able to vote for its leaders. Voter turnout is

If there were less elections open to the public, maybe voters would take their rights more
seriously. This is not to hinder our democracy, but rather develop it. By leaving the decisions to
more house and senate members, this will still keep intact representative government and
democracy in America, but also help the voter turnout to increase. There are so many elections
going on within the voter s own state that they simply take the right to vote as a common thing
instead of a luxury. In many countries voting is required to obtain a driver s license thus making
it more of a priority for citizens to vote. America should consider require voting by all eligible

Gymnastics Springboard
The topic of this experiment is to determine which type of gymnastics springboard will give the
highest elevation. There are two types of springboards used in vaulting the traditional springboard
and the air board. Based on research the hypothesis states that if a gymnast jumps on an air board
then the heightoff the board will be higher than if jumping on a traditional springboard.
To begin with, the vault has been in the Olympics for men since 1896 and for women since
1952. The vault requires a gymnast to run down a runway, jump on a springboard, and flip over
the vault table. The springboard is a very important piece in the vault. It is made up of a platform
and springs and is used to help get the gymnast up in the air. This experiment was chosen to

The South And North Water Diversion Project
The South to North Water Diversion Project in China, established by Moa Zedong in 1952, is a
water diversion project that would divert 44.8 billion cubic meters of water annually to the drier
north of China ( South to North Water ). The project would link China s four main rivers the
Yangtze, Yellow River, Huaihe and Haihe. China plans on doing this by constructing three
diversion routes moving through the south to north ( South to North Water ). It would stretch
across the central, eastern and western parts of the country ( South to North Water ). This project
is expected to cost around $62 billion dollars and take around 50 more years to complete ( South

20th Century Gangs Research Paper
Since the 1800 s gangs as we all know have a history in the United States. The United States
became a melting pot during this time as people of many ethnicities and religions entered the
United States. Many of the new immigrants joined gangs in order to gain a group identity, protect
themselves against other rival groups both immigrant based and natural born citizens, and build a
unified presence. The five corners in new York cityis a prime example of immigrant based gangs
just trying to protect themselves and gain identity in the new world. Even though the street gangs
of the 19th century were widely feared by other citizens and rival gangs, they don t hold a candle

The Debt And Interest Of Student Loans
The amount of student loans that one accumulates throughout post secondary education can
become a heavy burden. In addition, the study conducted by Scheresberg, Lusardi, and Yakoboski
(2014) show that a surprising amount of students are not aware of the financial burden that they
have acquired until they are deep in debtand interest. They summarize that:
Overall, there is a notable mismatch among college educated Millennials between their perceived
and demonstrated levels of financial literacy, with the form exceeding the latter. They also have less
financial knowledge than might be expected given their educational attainment. On the other hand,
given that only 29 percent have received financial education through school or work, perhaps low
financial literacy is to be expected. This indicates a need for increased financial education, as
improved financial literacy would mean more informed financial decision making. (p. 18)
Most often, students sign up for loans without fully understanding the interest rates that come with
them. At the end of their post secondary education, students come to fully understand what
financial burden they have to pay off and they find themselves stuck with high interest rates.
The summation made by Scheresberg, Lusardi, and Yakoboski (2014) of Generation Y is that
many college educated Millennials have low financial literacy levels; many are not aware of their

Descriptive Essay About Snowboarding
Ever since I can just about remember I have been Snowboarding. Well first I started off skiing,
but I wanted more of a challenge. What got me started was my older brother Daniel when he
tried it for the first time, he didn t stick with it because he hit his head to many times (I think he
is just a pansy). Him and his friends use to call me hobo Joe, which I kind of liked cause it
rhymes with my name Joe and It gave me attention. We would always go to this little ski resort
about 20 minutes away from our house and it was a blast, I loved it. I didn t have any friends to go
with at the time so I just tagged alot with my older brother which was fine enough.
I was 12 years old when we first started planning our trip to go to a resort in Colorado, I
remember sitting up at night talking with my older brother, counting down the days till we finally
got to leave for our skiing adventure. And to top it all off some of daniel s friends were coming
along with our cousin Jodi and oldest brother nick. Even though Daniel and his friends tease me at
times I still find it a lot of fun to hang out with them.
Dad how much longer till we finally get to leave? I would ask my dad with urgency, not
understanding at the time that asking ever couple of hours would not make the departure come
any faster. Rolling his eyes my dad would answer This is the fifth time today you asked that
question, we are leaving tomorrow morning . Dancing down the hall I hurry to my room that I
share with Daniel. When I approached the door I could heard these terrible retching noises
coming from behind the door. I peek inside the door to see Daniel with his face in the waste
basket. My heart starts to sink, knowing that if Daniel is too sick to travel then we weren t going
to be able to leave for this trip. I go tell my parents and then trudgingly flop down on the couch
knowing I wasn t going to get very good sleep tonight.
I wake up messaging my neck trying to get the knot that had developed there overnight due to my
sleeping arrangements. Sleepy, I walk to the bathroom and start to wash my face and start my
morning routine. As I took my clothes off and I walking into the shower and turned on the hottest
the water would go, I liked when it was

Misperception and Deception in William Shakespeare s...
Misperception and Deception in Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night is likely one of Shakespeare s most entertaining and complete comedy. This romance
explores a generous wealth of themes and issues. The most recurrent theme is the relationship
between misperception and deception. As a result of their environment and immediate
circumstances, men are forced into misperceptions. Paradoxically, they are completely trapped by
these illusions. Between the bad fortune they encounter and the bad fortune they themselves
generate, they become caught between a rock and a hard place; they are victims of deceit as well
as their own folly.
The relationship between misperception and deception has numerous effects: it gives way to ...

Of course, in reality, Viola and Sebastian were being confused. The main plot of Twelfth Night
revolves around the cause of such confusion resulting in disillusioned and self deceived characters.
The main plot of the play involves twins of the opposite sex who are separated during a tragic
shipwreck, each believing the other to be dead. The female, Viola, disguises herself as male and
serves in the love sick Duke Orsino s Court, where Tis said no woman may approach his court.
Orsino then uses Viola who, in male dress is known as Cesario to attempt to woo Countess Olivia
for himself, whereupon the Countess falls in love with Viola and Viola with Orsino. This love
triangle is brought to a conclusion when Sebastian, the male twin, stumbles upon the Countess
grounds and, mistaken for Viola in man s guise, is promptly married to Olivia. The twins are
therefore united when Viola reveals her true identity. Thus the main plot revolves around
misperception and deception, and the main plot is paralleled by the sub plot.
The sub plot concerns the activities of the Countess s servants. It largely involves the plotting of
Malvolio s downfall. There is an attempt to make him appear a fool before Olivia ( ...here comes
the trout which must be caught with tickling. ). Maria imitates Olivia s handwriting in forging a
letter professing Olivia s love for him. Malvolio, overjoyed with such news,

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Tone
Dylan Thomas s Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night implores people to live fully due to the
fact that time is short, and usually, it is too late before they realize it. He warns to not spend life
foolishly, and also states in the poem that even though death is inevitable, there should be no
restriction as to how one should control his or her destiny. Thomas s tone is urgent, but also
incorporates shift, metaphor, imagery, and repetition in order to remind people to live life with
passion.
This poem is inspired by Thomas s ailing father. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night s
purpose is to tell people to fight against the ticking clock of death. Rage, rage against the dying of
the light (Line 3) apprises readers to retaliate death. Typically people associate rage with anger,
however this rage is shown as an act of reprisal.. The main message of the poem is this: live life
passionately and boldly before time ends. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tone signifies the raw emotion that the poet wanted to portray. Thomas was close to his
father, and his death caused an immense pain. The poem is dedicated to his father because life
goes too fast, and once they realize it, it is too late. Wild men who caught and sang in the sun in
flight, and learn too late.. (Line 10 11) depicts how people spend time foolishly. Thomas entreats in
this poem to not live life mindlessly, but with a burning passion, Rage, Rage, against the dying light

Why Is Circumcision Wrong
Circumcision is a barbaric practice that has no medical purposes besides for appearance and what
is more attractive to the opposite gender. Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, it is a
practice that got started because of religion. Circumcision is usually performed on the second day
after the baby is born. During a circumcision, the foreskinis freed from the head of the penis, and
the extra foreskin is removed. The foreskin is a normal part of a male child, it is not a birth
defect or something that has to be removed for the safety of the child. Circumcision is painful to
the baby boy, they do not give them medicine to numb the pain or put them to sleep. The baby is in

In adult men, they sometimes can get something called phimosis which is when the foreskin is
tight and will not pull back. There is also paraphimosis which is when the foreskin will not go
back into its normal position after being pulled back. It causes the head of the penis to swell and
become painful. All of these would be reasons to remove the foreskin.
A male child cannot speak up and say he does not want this done, many people just do this to
their children without thinking of what they may want in the future. Many parents have decided
to wait till there baby is older and able to make a choice himself about if he wants to be
circumcised or not. The older the child is when choosing to circumcise the doctors will put them to
sleep and the process won t be near as

Sexual Education And Sex Education
The purpose of this paper is to explain the importance of sexual education and describe differences
and similarities in some of the research done on this topic. Having sexual education available to
youth is the key in reducing the number of unwanted situations in the sexual health of the
individuals. Teaching adolescents about sex is beneficial because they become aware of
consequence that might follow specific actions. This is a chance to ensure adolescents take safer
routes when deciding to become sexually active. Youth sexual education has been correlated with
preventing unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Many schools have
sexual education programs but many teenage pregnancies that are unplanned and STIs are
occurring. One reason could be because very few of these sexual education programs are attending
to the traditional social norms around sexuality and gender. It is important to consider and focus on
the traditional social norms because findings in previous studies have found those that hold
traditional social beliefs around gender and sexuality, are at greater risks of negative sexual health
consequences. Adolescents should be given the opportunity to receive the proper sexual education
in order to eliminate negative sexual health consequences. Researchers have found that individuals
in sexual education programs that address traditional social norms and the effects of these beliefs,
are less likely to agree with hegemonic masculinity

Carbon Dioxide Is Able To Influence Emissions
Carbon FRQ
a)Carbon is able to form covalent bonds with hydrogen and other atoms because it has four
valence electrons. Because carbon needs eight total electrons when its orbital is filled, it needs to
form four more bonds with other atoms. Also, since it is able to form bonds with four other atoms,
carbon has the potential to form single, double, or triple bonds.
b)The greenhouse effect refers to radiation from the sun as it warms the earth. This is caused by the
presence of several greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide being one of them. Carbon dioxide is formed
when carbon compounds undergo oxidation reactions. Carbon dioxide helps confine heat in the

Improper Pain Management Research Paper
Pain literally affects all levels of psychophysiological capabilities and influences almost every
aspect of a patients life, including relationships with others, activities of daily living, as well as
their job performance abilities. Pain accounts for an estimated cost of 90 billion dollars in
economic resources as a result of disability, lost time from work, and reduced productivity as whole
[5].
According to many experts in the field, one reason that patients continue to needlessly suffer from
improper pain management is the lack of expertise of nurses and physicians. Many health care
professionals lack the proper knowledge and attitude for effectively managing pain, leaving many
patients to endure a reduced quality of life. This lack of

Description:
During my second week of placement, I was working under the supervision of my preceptor,
caring for a fifty four year old Samoan gentlemen, Mr.Li (pseudonym). When we went to his
place in Mt. Albert at around 11am, he was sitting on the chair and his wife was sitting beside
him. Mr Li had left leg ulcer and he developed this in February 2016, when he went to Samoa.
According to Mr. Li, it started off with a blister and lead to left leg cellulitis. Mrs.Li (pseudonym)
told us that when Mr.Li went for swimming in the beach during his stay in Samoa and he knocked
his left big toe. Mr.Li s big left toe got infected and doctor s informed them, this is how his left leg
cellulitis started.
Mr. Li has multiple medical problems such as insulin dependent diabetes, hypertension, gout and
retinopathy. Mr.Li had a couple of hospital admission due to his left leg cellulitis. He mentioned
that during his hospitalisation his blood pressure was on higher side. Mr Li is on medication for
his hypertension. He is on amlodipine and cilazapril. To control his BSL (blood sugarlevel) he is on
insulin and metformin. On our first visit Mr.Li was not showing any insight about his medical

Seven Things You Should Know About Introverts
Knowing about yourself is great, but knowing about others also can have its benefits. In the Article
Seven things Extroverts should know About introverts(and vice versa) by Psychologist Sophia

introverts and extroverts. To clarify introverts are ones who normally keep to themselves, when
there s a party, they are the ones who are typically at home watching Netflix. While on the other
hand extroverts are the ones who are at the party, and most of the time always wanting to do
something and socialize. While each personalities are very different, each one has its own benefits.
Let s first start with what extroverts and should know about introverts. In the article, Dembling
mentions introverts don t need alone time because they don t like their friends, but because very
simply, they just need time to themselves, and time to regroup and relax. Additionally, she mentions

phone and could do it for hours. In fact I m one of the ones who will walk around the house
doing the most weird things while talking on the phone. Also when talking about extroverts, she
states they aren t doing it to loosen you up, they normally mean well , this one I think it would
depend on what they are trying to get you to do. Because he activities they are trying to get you to

  • 2. National Museum Research Paper Essay #1 I have always loved the National Museum of Natural History, ever since I visited for the first time in fourth grade. My favorite exhibitions are definitely those dealing with animals or space, but I cannot pick a favorite. When I found out about the opportunity to volunteer at the museum, I was extremely excited, since the program seemed to be perfect for me. I have experience in teaching and talking in front of groups of people, but I want to take it a step further by talking and being a guide in a busier, more demanding setting. Plus, volunteering at the museum would be a dream come true since I could see the exhibitions every other week; you learn something new every time you visit. Lastly, and least importantly, I want to volunteer... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I want to be a surgeon, which will require me to take intensive science courses. My desire to work in the health field was solidified after I went to the 2015 Congress of Future Medical Leaders. At the congress, I met people like Sir Richard Roberts, the winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology, Robert Darling, Bill Clinton s personal physician, and Jack Andraka, a boy who created a method for detecting early stages of pancreatic cancer when he was my age. I was inspired by their speeches and the fact that they were once my age; it made my dream to be a surgeon seem much more realistic and attainable. I even had a personal conversation with Mr. Darling, who told me that all I needed in order to reach my dream is tenacity. The most inspiring speech, however, was given by a woman named Carmen Tarleton. She suffered a brutal attack in which her face was doused in industrial grade lye, and she was reduced to becoming a living corpse. However, a group of surgeons gave her a full face transplant and she is now a force to be reckoned with. I knew, at that moment, that I wanted to help people like her, and that scientific progress is the reason she is still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, NFL players are at risk of losing their jobs if they use the drug. Marijuana use is a commonly known practice in the NFL. Former Chicago Bears player, Eben Britton, estimates over 50% to 75% of NFL players use marijuana as an alternative to painkillers. It can be a possible preventative treatment for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) which is a neurodegenerative brain disease caused by repeated impacts to the skull , which the blockbuster movie Concussion is based upon (Andavolu). CTE can negatively affect the brain. Symptoms such as, aggression, depression, suicidality, and dementia are associated with CTE. A study in 2015 at Boston University confirmed a shocking 87 out of 91 deceased brains studied had CTE ( NFL Players with CTE ). If marijuana can effectively prevent CTE in NFL players, it will make the game considerably more safe for the athletes. Players prefer marijuana over painkillers because marijuana is not addictive and will not have the same effect opioid painkillers will have when their careers are over. Former NFL player Nate Johnson stated to CBS news reporter Barry Petersen, Pain is constant when you play professional football for a living, it s daily pain (News). The interpretation of Tempo, Dynamics and Expression through Instrumentation in three recordings of Vittorio Monti s Czardas Vittorio Monti s famous virtuosic piece Czardas has been arranged for many instruments over the years. Being a percussionist and having played this piece I was interested in how this piece would vary in terms of tempo, dynamics and expression due to instrumentation. I chose to compare three recordings: one by violinist Frank Kim accompanied by piano as this represents the piece as it was originally written for piano and violin. Frank Kim performs it with a lot of expression and extremes of dynamic and tempo more typical of the romantic period; The Horseholm Percussion and Marimba Ensemble which used similar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Italian composer Vittorio Monti was born in 1868 in Naples. He attended the Conservatoire of San Pietro a Majella where he studied composition and violin, as well as playing mandolin. When he was in his thirty s he was asked to conduct in Paris for the Lamourex Orchestra, during this period Monti composed a number of operas and ballets such as Noel de Pierrot. In 1904 he wrote what is probably his most famous piece, Czardas, which he based on the Hungarian folk dance called Csardas. Although originally composed for solo violin and piano there have been many arrangements for numerous instruments over the years. Czardas or Hungarian Czardas is a national dance of Hungary for couples; it is written in simple time and involves forceful syncopated rhythms. The dance starts off with a slow section called the Lassu and is followed by a fast section called the Friss. Monti begins his piece at a slow, broad speed marked largo this represents the lassu from the dance. In the violin (Monti, 2015) recording the notes are very legato and there is a lot of vibrato to add extra expression, colour and phrasing to the music. In Cambridge Companion to the violin it states that vibrato was used...as an expressive ornament (Stowell, 1992) and used mainly for long notes at the end of a phrase. People enjoy competing with each other whether it is just friendly competition or as their job. Some dislike losing so much that they will go to extremes to make sure that they are better than their rival. They do this by using performance enhancing drugs to be better than their opponent. Professional athletes should have to be drug tested due to the many health risks it causes, and in many cases the use of these substances is considered cheating by many sports organizations. Many athletic organizations have banned athletes from using these substances; they consider the use of these substances to be a form of cheating. Bouchard and Sprague state that some professional athletes use steroids and other drugs to gain a competitive advantage in their sport. Such an advantage is generally considered by most athletic organizations to be cheating. These organizations consider performance enhancing substance use to be cheating because this gives the individual taking the substances an unfair advantage against their opponents that do not use these drugs. The unfair advantage that would take place in the competition would alter the true results. In any competition breaking the rules to gain an unfair advantage is considered cheating. Dr. M Schermer author of On the Argument that Enhancement is Cheating explains that if cheating is understood as breaking the rules in order to gain an unfair advantage over other, it can be argued that some enhancements are a form of cheating. If the sport of activity an athlete is participating in has specific rules that prohibit the use of certain substances and the athlete violates those rules and is aware that they are violating the rule, then that person is considered to be cheating; if an athlete consciously breaks a rule to gain an advantage over his or her rival, that is considered cheating. • 10. Rhetorical Analysis Of Aristotle s Theory Of Rhetoric Rhetoric can best be explained as how a speaker uses persuasion to influence their intended audience. Rhetoric is usually seen as a power that we as communicators are using to obtain the belief of others. Almost everyone uses rhetoric throughout their everyday lives without even knowing. We are constantly communicating with one another trying to prove some sort of point. There are many different figures that played a huge role in establishing rhetoric, but Aristotleis seen by many as the father of rhetoric. Not only does Aristotle have an influence on people of present day, but he had an influence on other Greek philosophers such as Cicero and Quintilian. His works established a baseline of rhetoric that many people after his time took and ran with. If he were around today, Aristotle would be seen by many as a rhetorical leader who could possibly end many communication differences and problems that are present in today s society. Aristotle was born in Stagira, Greece in the year 384 B.C. His father, Nicomachus, who died when Aristotle was a young boy, was a special court physician to the king of Macedonia (Biography, Aristotle ). This lead Aristotle to be greatly influenced by the court of Macedonia. When he turned 17, Aristotle set out for Athens to pursue an education at Platos Academy, which was a top of the line institute in Greece at the time. Once Aristotle graduated from the institute, and Plato died in 347 B.C., he was given the opportunity to be the head ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead, Kevin decided to spend a semester undercover at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia which is an institution founded by Jerry Falwell, an ultra conservative preacher and founder of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Roose wanted to see what conservative Christians were really like, how they truly lived. He took notes during his time at Liberty and wrote the book The Unlikely Disciple from his own perspective about his time there. Kevin had a very liberal, secular upbringing. He got the idea to go undercover after he met a group of Liberty students when he was a freshman at Brown. Kevin had never really been in contact with conservative Christian culture before and he felt that he did not know how to communicate with them. Kevin decided to go all in. From four computers back in the early 70 s to an uncountable number today, the Internet has extreme power and has changed the world. In recent years, Internet growth has been expanding more rapidly than the government can understand. The laws and regulations of a month ago are no longer useful today. The government either has to move quicker in deciding outcomes pertaining to the Internet or has to give up control entirely. Businesses are making large technological advances that involve the Internet and are being held up by government decisions. All of these developments in the field of computing continued to grow. As the Personal Computer was born, regular old people started to find the Internet useful to them. Online services such as America Online, Prodigy, and CompuServe started to control Internet services to the home user (Abbate 203). As Internet needs continued to grow, more ISPs, Internet Service Providers, popped up. Currently there are a countless number of ISPs, but people want more (Brown 2). In order to meet these needs, different types of Internet services were born. Some services, called Bulletin Board Services, are not directly connected to the Internet. These servers are just local computers in the area that just require a phone call in order to be used. Ways to use Bulletin Board Services are endless as long as the software on the server supports it. This project is expected to cost around $62 billion dollars and take around 50 more years to complete ( South to North Water ). By trying to divert the rivers and create an equal distribution of water, the project raises many environmental concerns but has many positives. In addition, the study conducted by Scheresberg, Lusardi, and Yakoboski (2014) show that a surprising amount of students are not aware of the financial burden that they have acquired until they are deep in debtand interest. They summarize that: Overall, there is a notable mismatch among college educated Millennials between their perceived and demonstrated levels of financial literacy, with the form exceeding the latter. They also have less financial knowledge than might be expected given their educational attainment. On the other hand, given that only 29 percent have received financial education through school or work, perhaps low financial literacy is to be expected. This indicates a need for increased financial education, as improved financial literacy would mean more informed financial decision making. (p. 18) Most often, students sign up for loans without fully understanding the interest rates that come with them. At the end of their post secondary education, students come to fully understand what financial burden they have to pay off and they find themselves stuck with high interest rates. What got me started was my older brother Daniel when he tried it for the first time, he didn t stick with it because he hit his head to many times (I think he is just a pansy). Him and his friends use to call me hobo Joe, which I kind of liked cause it rhymes with my name Joe and It gave me attention. We would always go to this little ski resort about 20 minutes away from our house and it was a blast, I loved it. I didn t have any friends to go with at the time so I just tagged alot with my older brother which was fine enough. I was 12 years old when we first started planning our trip to go to a resort in Colorado, I remember sitting up at night talking with my older brother, counting down the days till we finally got to leave for our skiing adventure. And to top it all off some of daniel s friends were coming along with our cousin Jodi and oldest brother nick. Even though Daniel and his friends tease me at times I still find it a lot of fun to hang out with them. Dad how much longer till we finally get to leave? I would ask my dad with urgency, not understanding at the time that asking ever couple of hours would not make the departure come any faster. Rolling his eyes my dad would answer This is the fifth time today you asked that question, we are leaving tomorrow morning . Dancing down the hall I hurry to my room that I share with Daniel. When I approached the door I could heard these terrible retching noises coming from behind the door. I peek inside the door to see Daniel with his face in the waste basket. My heart starts to sink, knowing that if Daniel is too sick to travel then we weren t going to be able to leave for this trip. I go tell my parents and then trudgingly flop down on the couch knowing I wasn t going to get very good sleep tonight. I wake up messaging my neck trying to get the knot that had developed there overnight due to my sleeping arrangements. Teaching adolescents about sex is beneficial because they become aware of consequence that might follow specific actions. This is a chance to ensure adolescents take safer routes when deciding to become sexually active. Many schools have sexual education programs but many teenage pregnancies that are unplanned and STIs are occurring. One reason could be because very few of these sexual education programs are attending to the traditional social norms around sexuality and gender. It is important to consider and focus on the traditional social norms because findings in previous studies have found those that hold traditional social beliefs around gender and sexuality, are at greater risks of negative sexual health consequences.
