question paper. However, you are not allowed, under any circumstances, to

time.

(b) Outline managerial roles, according to Henry Mintzberg. 13 Marks
(c) State any three functions of management. 6 Marks

2. (a) Explain five ways in which you can motivate employees in a workplace.
10 Marks
(b) Explain two differences between motivators and hygiene factors,
according to Fredrick Herzberg. 4 Marks
(c) Explain any three criticisms against Fredrick Herzberg’s TWO –
Factor Theory as a tool for motivating employees. 6 Marks

3. (a) There is no best leadership style for all situations facing a leader.
Required:
State any five factors which can guide a leader to identify appropriate
leadership style for particular situations. 10 Marks
(b) Power is one of a leader’s sources of influence to induce team
members to contribute towards goal achievement.

Explain any five sources of a leader’s power. 10 Marks

4. (a) Explain the term “Human Resource Management”. 2 Marks
(b) State the four roles of a Human Resource Practitioner. 8 Marks
