Tata Motors is an Indian automotive manufacturer that has expanded globally through acquisitions and joint ventures. In 2004, Tata acquired Daewoo's South Korean truck business to expand into international markets. In 2005, Tata acquired a controlling stake in Spanish bus maker Hispano, and in 2008 acquired British luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. Tata has also established joint ventures including Tata Daewoo in Korea, Tata Hispano in Spain, Tata Marcopolo in Brazil, and Fiat India Automobiles to gain access to new technologies and markets. Tata sells vehicles globally and manufactures in several countries, pursuing an international strategy of growth through partnerships.
