Task Four // mind map 
& moodboards

High-End Sports Energy 
Drink 
• The idea behind this was to produce an energy drink that was of a high-end quality & that would appeal 
to an ABC1 audience, compared to the drinks that would be it’s main competitors (Lucazade & 
Powerade). 
• The ideas above in the mood board represent how the bottle could look like. The use of colour on 
black/slate really appeals for a clean & simple, high end look. Like the BEYONCE cover & the The Death 
Cure cover. This will be used on the original/male version of the drink. This will also be the them for the 
berry/female version of the drink, but the colours will be pink/purple over white/silver. 
• I used the example of the SmartWater bottle as I feel that is a very simple & classic design, which in turn 
makes it the perfect bottle for a high-end energy drink. Other simple, high-end products that come to 
mind are Apple products & Beats by Dre as they have a very simple & clear design. To own these 
products you have to have money & care about style to some extent, as they are high-branded products: 
you are buying into a brand. 
• I also included in the mind map Two existing products that I am gaining some inspiration from. The 
Powerade liquid is something I would like to feature in my work, as the colour of the liquid would work 
with the colour themes of my work, creating a theme between the actual product and the packaging. 
• I also included a graphic of a man running as I feel a simple graphic would work well with my work, 
whether that be in the advertisement or the actual product design.
Female-targeted, Organic 
Energy Drink 
• This other idea was to tap into a female-targeted energy drink, which would really play on the design 
aspect. The design of these cans will be important as they will reflect the flavours inside the energy drink. 
• I initially chose four colours that would work alongside the green: red, purple, orange & yellow. I believe 
these colours would work well against the green. Green would be used as it helps connote the organic 
essence of the drink. These colours, like expressed on the mood board, will be pastel colours as the idea 
is to target to a feminine audience, which hasn't been explored in the energy drinks genre. 
• At this point, I have not decided whether the energy drink would be in bottle or can form, as there are 
ways to explore both types of products for them to work with this audience. 
• I included two graphics, one Strawberry & one Orange, as I think, at this stage, would like to include a 
graphic of the fruit that is available inside the energy drink. 
• The stripes image & spots images represent how the drinks packaging could eventually look like, as 
these little design aspects would determine who the product was targeted at. A simple poka dot or striped 
pattern would add a simple, stylish design to the product that would be perfect for the target audience of 
young females who care about things such as appearance & if I product looks good or not. 
• On the mood board, you will also find a first drawing of an idea of what the product could look like.

The design of these cans will be important as they will reflect the flavours inside the energy drink. • I initially chose four colours that would work alongside the green: red, purple, orange & yellow. I believe these colours would work well against the green. Green would be used as it helps connote the organic essence of the drink. These colours, like expressed on the mood board, will be pastel colours as the idea is to target to a feminine audience, which hasn't been explored in the energy drinks genre. • At this point, I have not decided whether the energy drink would be in bottle or can form, as there are ways to explore both types of products for them to work with this audience. • I included two graphics, one Strawberry & one Orange, as I think, at this stage, would like to include a graphic of the fruit that is available inside the energy drink. • The stripes image & spots images represent how the drinks packaging could eventually look like, as these little design aspects would determine who the product was targeted at. A simple poka dot or striped pattern would add a simple, stylish design to the product that would be perfect for the target audience of young females who care about things such as appearance & if I product looks good or not. • On the mood board, you will also find a first drawing of an idea of what the product could look like.
