2. QUESTION ONE - WHAT IS
YOUR GENDER?
I had 10 questions on each of my survey and 10
sheets of the survey that needed to be completed,
so I gave 5 of the sheets to a female audience and
the other 5 to a male audience. This was so that I
can know how much each of each gender likes the
thriller movies and how much each thriller movie
idea is targeted to each gender.

3. QUESTION TWO - HOW
OLD ARE YOU?
On this question, the majority of the audience that
filled out this survey was aged 16 to 24, this is
because I needed to hear more from them, as they
are my target audience for my thriller movie trailer.
I got an equal amount of 12 to 15 year olds and 25
to 40 year olds on this questions because even
though they are not my main audience I still
wanted their opinions on this movie and if it will
attract them too. I only had one 41+ year old to
fill out this survey because I knew that they will not
want to watch thriller movies as they may find it
too exciting and suspenseful.

LIKE THRILLER MOVIES?
On this question, 70% of the audience liked
thriller movies, this may have been because the
majority of the audience that completed this
questionnaire was within my target audience age
group or young which makes them a lot more
likely to enjoy this genre. 20% of the audience did
not like thriller movies, this may have been
because the other age groups like the 25 to 40
year olds and the 41+ year old does not enjoy
thriller movies as much as other people do or
because it is not guaranteed that all young people
will enjoy this genre as not everyone has the same
interest. 10% of the audience choose the “other”
option, this may have been because they did not
know whether they like the genre or not, so next
time I will add the option of “I don’t know” in my
surveys.

5. QUESTION FOUR - DO YOU
LIKE THIS THRILLER MOVIE
IDEA?
On this question, 80% of the audience liked the
thriller movie idea which is good as most of the
option on this idea was positive. However, 10% of
the audience answered “No”, this may have been
because the storyline did not appeal to them as
much as it appeal to others, for example they did
not have a character which they could relate to or
the reason for this response may have been
because they have seen this type of thriller movie
before. Then another 10% of the audience choose
the “I don’t know” option, this may have been
linked to the person who did not know if they liked
thriller movies or because they were not that
interested in the thriller movie idea but did not
think it was bad.

SPECIFY YOUR ANSWER
On this question, the majority of the feedback
from the audience was positive for example “It’s a
great idea for a thriller movie” and “Because it has
a good range of characters and a strong plot”, this
helped me to get an idea of why most of the
audience choose “Yes” in Question Four. However,
this question also helped me to think of some
improvements for the thriller movie idea, for
example I need to need to have more of an
interested plot twist and not make it too similar
too other movies. From doing this, I may have
more of the audience interested in the thriller
movie idea

towards the characters so they would want them
to survive throughout the movie. 20% of the

8. QUESTION SEVEN - WHAT IS
YOUR FAVOURITE THRILLER
MOVIE AND WHY?
This question made me have a good
understanding of what type of thriller movies the
audience liked. 80% of them had one and 20% did
not have one, this may have been because of may
reasons for example because of their age group,
because they do not like or watch thriller movies
or because the could not choose just one movie.
But with the 80% that did answer the question, it
helped me to explain why most of the feedback
form this thriller movie idea received positive
opinions and that was because most liked Action-
thriller movies like Shutter Island, Taken and The
Purge which is the genre of my thriller movie idea.
1. The Purge because it has a good storyline
2. Taken (2008) because it has a lot of suspense and keep the
audience on the edge of their seat
3. Inception because it is different and confusing so you will
not know what will happen next

On this question, the majority of the audience
picked 7 stars and above which is a great result
and most picked 9 stars. This shows me that my
thriller movie idea is good but not good enough to
received a higher rating meaning that
improvements should be made and to make the
movie appeal to everyone. However there is a
range of different age groups that answered this
question so this may have been the reason why I
did not receive higher ratings

have been because when it comes to movies they

result., this may be because the location is what
the audience can relate to and the music is what
builds the suspense for the thriller movie.
