Unit 14
An online newspaper is the online version of a
newspaper, either as a stand-alone publication
or as the online version of a printed periodical.
Going online created more opportunities for
newspapers, such as competing with broadcast
journalism in presenting breaking news in a
more timely manner. The credibility and strong
brand recognition of well-established
newspapers, and the close relationships they
have with advertisers, are also seen by many in
the newspaper industry as strengthening their
chances of survival. The movement away from
the printing process can also help decrease
costs.
An online magazine is a magazine published on the
Internet, through bulletin board systems and other
forms of public computer networks.
Some online magazines distributed through the
World Wide Web call themselves webzines. An
ezine (also spelled e-zine) is a more specialized
term appropriately used for small magazines and
newsletters distributed by any electronic method,
for example, by electronic mail.
An electronic is a book publication made available in
digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable
on the flat-panel display of computers or other
electronic devices.
Advertising is an audio or visual form of marketing
communication that employs an openly sponsored, no
personal message to promote or sell a product, service
or idea. 465 Sponsors of advertising are often
businesses who wish to promote their products or
services.
Flyers are similar to leaflets, the only difference that flyers
don’t fold. There are a single piece of paper. They often
advertise shops or restaurants.
A pamphlet is an unbound booklet (that is,
without a hard cover or binding). It may consist of
a single sheet of paper that is printed on both
sides and folded in half, in thirds, or in fourths,
called a leaflet, or it may consist of a few pages
that are folded in half and saddle stapled at the
crease to make a simple book.
Leaflets are used to advertise products or to
promote events.
Promotion is used on many advertisements, it promotes
products that business or people are trying to sell. The
adverts are often put into websites and tv programmes
where people can see them.
DVD and CD covers are used to promote the product.
For example, this photo is a cover of wolf of wall street.
The front cover will draw the viewer in and will make
them want to watch it.
Interactive media refers to products and services on
digital computer-based systems which respond to
the user’s actions by presenting content such as text,
moving image, animation, video, audio, and video
games.
instruction manual is an instructional book or booklet
that is supplied with almost all technologically
advanced consumer products such as vehicles, home
appliances and computer peripherals. Information
contained in the owner's manual typically includes:
