2. E-Newspapers
E-Newspapers are online newspapers. They are interactive
and require a device with an internet connection to use.
For example an iPhone, tablet etc.

3. E-Magazines
E-magazines are online magazines which display a range of different
magazines which have been produced in the past. The screenshot below
shows “VOGUE” magazine’s e-magazine. The magazines shown are
hyperlink to show what is included in the magazine, it’s just like opening a
real magazine.
4. CD Covers/Thumbnails
CD Covers display an image of what and who the cd
was produced by. It gives the audience a visual
reference to what it is which obligates them to
recognise what its about. For example Notorious BIG’s
album cover for “Ready to Die” shows a baby with a
black background, if someone can’t remember what
the album is called they would refer to the image of a
young baby with a white background.
Thumbnails are images shown to present a video or a
logo for a website such as wordpres. Youtube displays
a thumbnail image of a part of the video to make the
audience understand the media product better.

5. DVD Covers
DVD covers are used to identify the movie, it expresses the emotion, genre
and displays the actors within the movie. They work in similar ways to CD’s or
Thumbnails as they share the same purpose. The back displays a blur (like a
book) which is a preview of the film and it shows the companies involved in
the production.

6. Books
Books are printed or written stories or non-fictional information stored in a
collection which makes a book. The cover of a book is similar to a dvd or cd
cover as they show what the book is about and on the back includes a blur to
give the reader an insight of what the book is about.

7. Instruction/Training Manuals
Manuals are information leaflets to instruct someone on what to do. They
consist of steps and images showing what to do therefore self explanatory.

8. Adverts
Adverts can be digital or print based, these are displayed all around areas. Its
purpose is to persuade an audience into purchasing a product or to portray a
message to a certain audience. They are displayed in billboards, bus stop
posters (which can be digital) and in magazines and newspapers.
9. Interactive Media - Websites
Websites allow the user to view videos, information and images related to a certain
subjects. They also allow the creator to have creative control over it as they can make
changes whenever they want. The immediacy is high as it can be accessed and
changed over a range of different platforms i.e on the your mobile device or on a
tablet, at work on a computer, personal laptop etc.
Websites are also a good way of advertising to a specific audience, the name of it gives
us some background information about what it could be. For example Wikipedia is
known for giving facts to its audience, we know thins because of “pedia”. It also shows
its logo in the top of the tab for the website.
