Tag clouds visually represent the popularity and frequency of tagged words. The more a word is tagged, the larger and darker/brighter it appears in the cloud. When clicked, a word links to all articles tagged with that word. There are three main types of tag clouds that use size, grouping, or both to represent the number of tags or tagged items. Tag clouds benefit users by showing frequently used keywords and allowing grouping of similar tags.

Advances in authoring tools and improved access to distributed content sources using technologies like Web Services, provide a sea of valuable learning content to learners. However, without better navigation tools, learners will simply drown in this ever-changing sea of information. Tag clouds offer a powerful new approach for navigating eLearning content, especially rapidly evolving content. Rather than having to search for content, Tag clouds allow learners to see popular content and subscribe to content of interest using simple tags. Tag clouds also help content producers classify content using the collective intelligence of their organization. Moreover, the Tag-based classification system improves as more content is published and tagged.

Good ideas come from many different sources. However, the majority of internauts is still anchored to the traditional web search engines.Internet is a fast growing space that grows by compartments and different data sources.Open-data are the emblematic example of this discontinuity: many data sources but no centralizing tools.Vestige is intended to fill this gap: a bridge between compartments. Its aim is to let users find their answers from heterogeneous data and collaborate to refine the results.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Tag Cloud Presentation
1.
2. How does a Tag Cloud work? A Tag Cloud is a visual representative of how much a word has been tagged. The more a word is used and tagged, the larger and darker / brighter it will appear within the cloud. When clicking on the word, you will be shown a page showing all the articles the word was tagged with .
3. The Three Main Types of Tag Clouds The first type uses size to show the amount of times a tag has been attached to a single word. The second variation shows the tag’s popularity by displaying the items (using size as well) to which a tag has been used. The third type uses tags as a grouping means for content items. Tags are shown in a cloud and larger tags represent the amount of items in the group.
4. In what ways do Tag Clouds benefit us? Tag clouds provide us with a way to see our most used keywords It allows you to group tags that are similar so that they appear next to each other in the cloud Depending on the website, some words within your tag cloud will be highlighted a certain colour, which then shows the words and subjects you have in common with other viewers They show the main subjects and make it easy to access the websites directly .
8. Differences in websites using Tag clouds Some tag clouds show similar tags that you have with other users. Delicious Tag Clouds are used around the world.
