This qualification is designed for individuals who require further
foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or
vocational training pathways.
It is suitable for individuals who require:
 a pathway to employment or vocational training
 reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian
Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3
 entry level digital literacy and employability skills
 a vocational training and employment plan.
What is the qualification structure?
PackagingRules: Total numberof units = 14 with 8 core units and 6 elective units

workplace tasks
FSKLRG09 Use strategies to respond to routine
workplace problems
FSKLRG11 Use routine strategies for work-related
learning
FSKNUM14 Calculate with whole numbers and
familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work
FSKNUM15 Estimate, measure and calculate routine
metric measurements for work
FSKOCM07 Interact effectively with others at work
FSKRDG10 Read and respond to routine workplace

FSKWTG09 Write routine workplace texts
ELECTIVE UNITS
Two elective units must be vocational units from
other training packages.
The remaining electives units may be selected as
follows:
 up to 4 vocational units from other training
packages, and their prerequisite units where
applicable
 up to 4 units from the Foundation Skills
Training Package
 up to 3 units from accredited courses.
ACSF LEVEL 3
Plans, implements and adjusts processes when seeking new
challenges, experimenting with new strategies in both familiar
and unfamiliar situations
 Applies a range of reading approaches then evaluates and
integrates information and ideas to construct meaning from a
range of familiar, and some unfamiliar, texts and text types
 Communicates relationships between ideas and information
using the appropriate vocabulary, grammatical structures and
conventions for specific audiences and purposes
 Selects and uses appropriate strategies to derive meaning, to
establish and maintain oral communication, in both familiar
and some unfamiliar contexts
 Employs the appropriate problem-solving skills, mathematical
language and representations to interpret mathematical
information that may be partly embedded in a range of
familiar, and some less familiar, tasks and texts

types using simple vocabulary, grammatical structures and

Uses everyday language to provide information or maintain a
conversation in familiar spoken contexts as well as listening for
relevant information in oral texts across familiar contexts
Identifies and comprehends relevant mathematical
information in familiar activities or texts; selects and uses

SITXCOM201 - Show social and cultural sensitivity
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to be socially aware
when serving customers and working with colleagues. It requires the ability to communicate with
people from a range of social and cultural groups with respect and sensitivity and address cross-cultural
misunderstandings
AGFCMN102A - Apply effective work practices
This unit covers the skills and knowledge needed to apply effective work practices in an agri-food
industry. It includes planning, organising and completing work, communicating effectively, working
with others, solving problems and adapting to change.
SIRXCCS202 - Interact with customers
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deliver service to
customers. It involves being able to communicate effectively with customers, respond to their
complaints, receive and process sales orders, and identify special customer requirements.
The unit covers the consistent application of store policies and industry codes of practice to provide a
quality service environment by treating customers and team members in a courteous and professional
manner through all stages of the service and sales procedure, and to identify and resolve customer
complaints.
TLID1001A - Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to shift loads using manual handling methods,
including assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and
carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification
requirements are applicable to this unit.

It is suitable for individuals who require:  a pathway to employment or vocational training  reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3  entry level digital literacy and employability skills  a vocational training and employment plan.

PackagingRules: Total numberof units = 14 with 8 core units and 6 elective units CORE UNITS FSKDIG03 Use digital technology for routine workplace tasks FSKLRG09 Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems FSKLRG11 Use routine strategies for work-related learning FSKNUM14 Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work FSKNUM15 Estimate, measure and calculate routine metric measurements for work FSKOCM07 Interact effectively with others at work FSKRDG10 Read and respond to routine workplace information FSKWTG09 Write routine workplace texts ELECTIVE UNITS Two elective units must be vocational units from other training packages. The remaining electives units may be selected as follows:  up to 4 vocational units from other training packages, and their prerequisite units where applicable  up to 4 units from the Foundation Skills Training Package  up to 3 units from accredited courses.

It requires the ability to communicate with people from a range of social and cultural groups with respect and sensitivity and address cross-cultural misunderstandings AGFCMN102A - Apply effective work practices This unit covers the skills and knowledge needed to apply effective work practices in an agri-food industry. It includes planning, organising and completing work, communicating effectively, working with others, solving problems and adapting to change. SIRXCCS202 - Interact with customers This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deliver service to customers. It involves being able to communicate effectively with customers, respond to their complaints, receive and process sales orders, and identify special customer requirements. The unit covers the consistent application of store policies and industry codes of practice to provide a quality service environment by treating customers and team members in a courteous and professional manner through all stages of the service and sales procedure, and to identify and resolve customer complaints. TLID1001A - Shift materials safely using manual handling methods This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to shift loads using manual handling methods, including assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit.
