Thousands of Indian students receive medical degrees from countries like China, Russia, Ukraine, and Nepal. These students must take and pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in order to practice medicine in India. Over 11,000 Indian students with Chinese medical degrees and over 5,000 with Russian degrees took the FMGE from 2012-2014. While some students pursue medical degrees abroad due to limited spots in Indian medical colleges, the qualifications of graduates from countries like China and Russia are not always equivalent to those from Indian institutions.

The story follows two gas station attendants, I and Harnie, and their encounter with a mysterious stranger who arrives in a beautiful car. They recount the story of a beautiful woman who came to their town years ago and sat down with her cello, never moving again. When Harnie plucked one of the cello strings, his hand lit up and was consumed in a shower of sparks. Though a strange event, the townspeople acted like nothing happened. The stranger insists on being taken to see the woman. When they arrive, he plays her a song on his steel guitar, and she opens her eyes for the first time in decades.
This document describes a currency recognition system that uses image processing techniques to distinguish between real and fake banknotes. The system scans Bangladeshi taka notes, pre-processes the images through steps like filtering, conversion to grayscale and binary, and segments features like security strips and lines. It extracts metrics of these features using MATLAB and compares them to determine if a note is real or fake based on similarities to stored authentic samples. The system is able to accurately recognize currency and has potential to help identify counterfeits and assist visually impaired people.
Researchers from UNAM and UCSB used participatory action research to understand how stoves are used in indigenous Mexican villages. They designed new efficient stoves from locally available clay and sand that were easier for women to maintain, as women are often left in charge of households while men work in the US. The researchers involved villagers in collectively building and distributing the stoves using an existing local tradition of communal work. After 5 years, the participatory stoves had the highest acceptance in rural Mexico, replacing bonfires by 80% while lasting longer than previous stove implementations due to incorporating local practices.
The document discusses how being a good leader is like dancing the tango. It explains that in tango, the leader initiates movements and the follower responds accordingly through effective communication and collaboration. It notes several skills that tango leaders demonstrate, such as clearly communicating intentions, maintaining confidence, respecting individual styles, anticipating obstacles, listening to the follower's response, and maintaining leadership throughout the dance. The document concludes that even good leaders can make mistakes but that the key is to keep dancing through them.
This document discusses workforce diversity at Dynamic Displays, a company that provides self-service kiosks. It introduces several key employees: Frank Davis, the vice president; Shannon McDonald, the director; and Thomas Green, a newly promoted senior marketing specialist. The problem is identified as Thomas not updating Frank or providing requested reports and projections. He challenged Frank's sales projections and refuses to develop new marketing strategies. The problem is analyzed as Thomas ignoring the organizational structure and lacking experience, and not working well in a team. Solutions proposed are for Thomas to meet with Frank, accept feedback, and improve his strategy, reporting, and teamwork.
This joint presentation will focus on a project between CENTREDOC and the ARMASUISSE Science and Technology Foresight program to set up an optimized Patent Landscape process. The talk will outline the major bottlenecks identified in the existing process, the solutions considered and implemented by CENTREDOC, as well as the results achieved by ARMASUISSE in its capacity to anticipate and get the necessary understanding of emerging technologies. As technologies can be considered independently of the domain of application, creating a contributory platform providing structured information about technologies is of common general interest at governmental and industrial level, both national and international.

Design and engineering have value. We need to do a better job of proving it. Too often, we leave metrics to someone else, when we can directly learn and show the impact we're having. Learn how to initiate and implement a metrics strategy from someone who really cares about money. And people. But mostly, money.

Zintegrowany system Lean Management

QuestionBook 2016 – o trendach w rozwoju ludzi w organizacjiHouse of Skills

2. System motywacyjny
Uznawany jest jako jeden z kluczowych narzędzi
w zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi.
Jego zadaniem jest zwiększenie zarówno
zaangażowania pracowników, jak i satysfakcji
ich z pracy. Działa mobilizująco, co przekłada
się na wydajność pracownika.
4. Nagroda
finansowa
Do tej pory była to jedna
z najbardziej popularnych form
motywacyjnych. Jednak sprawia
to, że sensem pracownika staje się
„uniknięcie kija i zdobycie
marchewki”, co w efekcie obniża
jego zaangażowanie.
5. Czynniki higieniczne
6. Poczucie
sensu pracy
Pracownik powinien mieć
poczucie, że jego praca
i włożony wysiłek mają sens.
To, co robi w pracy przyczynia się
do jego osobistego rozwoju oraz
wpływa korzystnie na działalność
firmy. Istotne jest, aby pracownik
miał świadomość, że jego zdanie
jest równie ważne, jak pozostałej
części zespołu.
7. Uznanie szefa
Bardzo ważnym aspektem dla
pracownika jest uznanie szefa.
Za poprawne wykonanie zadania należy
pochwalić zespół. Pracownicy
potrzebują pozytywnego wzmocnienia.
Szczera pochwała zawsze wpłynie
pozytywnie na dalszą motywację
do pracy.
8. Rozwój
pracownika
Istotnym motywatorem dla
pracownika jest możliwość
rozwoju i zdobywania kolejnych
kompetencji. Oczekuje od
pracodawcy możliwości udziału
w szkoleniach, konferencjach
i różnego rodzaju spotkaniach
dzięki którym zdobędzie nowe
doświadczenie, zgłębi wiedzę
i poszerzy horyzonty.
9. Atmosfera
Do jednego z najważniejszych czynników
motywujących należy panująca w pracy
atmosfera.
Ma ona bardzo duży wpływ na współpracę
w zespole, samopoczucie, zaangażowanie
i długofalowość zatrudnienia. Pracownicy
chętniej podejmują się pracy przy wspólnych
projektach.
10. Benefity
Bardzo ważne są dla pracowników świadczenia płacowe. Pracodawca
może dofinansowywać benefity całkowicie lub częściowo.
Do najbardziej popularnych należą:
➢ karta multisport,
➢ auto, telefon służbowy,
➢ opieka medyczna,
➢ bony na święta,
➢ ,,wczasy pod gruszą”,
➢ możliwość uzyskania pożyczki od firmy.
11. Możliwość
awansu
Młodym ludziom zależy na rozwoju,
dlatego chcą zajmować coraz
wyższe stanowiska. W przypadku
braku możliwości zajęcia
wyższego stanowiska można
awansować poziomo, co wpłynie
równie pozytywnie na poprawę
pozycji w firmie.
