This invention assists the needs from the toll road concession companies.
The vehicle supervision in Brazilian highways has an important role in the
maintenance of public order in the traffic. Hence, the present invention is a system
for acquisition of static images of objects in motion from videos in the surveillance,
such as lateral images of vehicles which move in toll roads. Moreover, this
invention also describes a method which consists in a process of detection of
objects and video stitching.
In many Brazilian toll roads, vehicles in motion should be photographed sidelong.
Common cameras cannot be used for this goal, mainly, because there is no
enough space between the roads that allows the acquisition of photos of whole
vehicles. This invention proposes a system and method for acquiring static images
of objects in motion from videos, of which video frames are “stitching” to obtain just
one image.

The vehicle supervision in Brazilian highways has an important role in the maintenance of public order in the traffic. Hence, the present invention is a system for acquisition of static images of objects in motion from videos in the surveillance, such as lateral images of vehicles which move in toll roads. Moreover, this invention also describes a method which consists in a process of detection of objects and video stitching. In many Brazilian toll roads, vehicles in motion should be photographed sidelong. Common cameras cannot be used for this goal, mainly, because there is no enough space between the roads that allows the acquisition of photos of whole vehicles.
