A poor miller's wife meets a mysterious man who promises wealth in exchange for one of her daughters. When the time comes, the man, revealed to be the devil, cannot take the daughter as the mother has protected her. The devil demands the mother chop off her daughter's hands to fulfill the deal, which she does. The handless daughter is found and cared for by a prince, who marries her. They have three daughters of their own. The devil returns to claim one of the grandchildren, but the mother refuses and is taken instead.

1. Synopsis: Girl with No hands<br />A very poor woman- miller’s wife, who lives in a village, takes a walk in the woods, where she meets a mysterious man dressed in a black suit. The man suggests her a deal, that he will give her lots of fortune but in return he would get one of her daughters. The Man, who is the devil in disguise , forces the woman to agree and says he will be back in 3 years. Back at home, the woman sees that she had become rich and the devil kept to his part of the deal. Throughout the years the woman protects her daughters, keeping them from sin, and going to church regularly, drawing circles of white chalk around their beds , so that the devil couldn't take them even while they were sleeping. After the 3 years had passed the devil came back and told the poor woman to keep her eldest daughter away from water until he comes back again, so he could take her, as he can’t take away a clean girl. The woman did like she was told, but the daughter wept all night until the devil showed up again, and had washed clean her hands. The devil was very angry but determined to take the girl with him, so told the mother to chop away her daughters arms, otherwise he would take her, the mother herself to hell. <br />The woman was petrified of the devil and did like she was told- chopped of her daughters arms, but because the girl was in so much pain, and cried so much, she washed clean the rest of her body and the devil couldn't take her again. The devil told the mother to watch her daughters as he will be back in another 3 years. The girl with no hands was very angry at her mother and left home. On her way she saw an apple tree and wanted to take some apples, but without hands, she couldn't. She jumped around the branches trying to reach it, until it became dark and she was too tired to walk anywhere else and stayed to rest underneath the apple tree. In the morning, just as the sun rose, a young man from a village nearby came to pick apples and found the girl sleeping. He woke her up and told her to come with him, as he would take care of her. She agreed and went to his village. There the girl lived for some time until the royal family came to visit the village and the prince fell in love with her, and took her away to his castle.The prince had special silver arms made for his wife. The couple had 3 children, all of them daughters.<br />When the eldest daughter became 16 years old, the same devil visited the girl with no hands and wanted to take one of her daughters as he couldn’t take her years ago, but the girl disagreed. The devil the instead took her away. <br />The Prince (now King) Searched for his wife but couldn’t find her only her silver arms that he gave her.<br />
