Attached is a list of after-school clubs and activities in which you may wish to enroll your child(ren). Please note the following guidelines: 
â—Ź Read the club description carefully and check the grade level assigned to the club before making the selection. 
â—Ź Return the Club Reply Slip by Tuesday, August 26, 2014 directly to Mr. Mykael Angelo or email the form to mangelo@cismanila.org Final club lists will be posted by Friday, August 29, 2014 and will commence on Monday, September 1, 2014. 
â—Ź Unless otherwise indicated, clubs for the First Semester will end on or before Friday, November 28, 2014. 
â—Ź As some of the clubs have limited class size, admission to the club/activity of choice is on a first come-first served basis. CISM commits to open the class with a minimum participation of five (5) students. 
● Only students who settle applicable club fees in full will be guaranteed a slot. Please pay through the school’s cashier and show your receipt to the moderator on the first club meeting day. We will strictly adhere to “No receipt, No admittance” policy.

Giggle Toes Ballet: Love dancing? This club is for you! Learn basic ballet steps and enjoy expressing yourself through movement! Girls should come in ballet attire! (black leotards, white tights, white ballet shoes, hair in a bun (hairnet), pink ballet skirt). Boys that want to join should wear black tights, black ballet shoes and a white t- shirt. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Gymnastics: Coach Larry returns to continue the development of our future gymnasts! Newcomers welcome. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Golf: Students will be taught the basic swings and strokes and encouraged to develop their skills in golf. Parents are also welcome to join this activity! The cost is indicatively set at PhP 6,000.00 per student (depending on age) for a 12 week course. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Pricing and details to be firmed-up at a later date. Animal Encounters: Is your child crazy about animals? Animal Encounters is a club designed for animal lovers! Each week we will have fun filled educational activities to increase your child’s appreciation and respect for animals and their habitats. Isa and Tammie will bring a different animal to school, both wild and domestic and you'll learn about animal training, animals in our environment, amazing animal feats and even explore the slinky and slimy! The club will open with a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 15 students. Animal Assisted Activities: (To start on September 8, 2014) "Learn to safely interact, have fun and discover why dogs are considered man's best friend! Animal Assisted Activities or AAA is a club that promotes awareness about animals (dogs in particular). Their strengths, weaknesses and needs, while having a fun and safe environment for both humans and dogs. It also provides motivational and therapeutic benefits that enhance children's interest and general quality of life." The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Volleyball: Learn how to dig-set-spike and play competitive games. Develop agility, flexibility and better coordination as you do the drills. Be part of the training pool for a varsity volleyball team. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Dragon Heart: Grab your guitars and hold your picks high for we are about to start the school year with a bang!!! Calling all musicians (both experienced and aspiring), you are invited to join us and be one with the sound and hear the beat of the “Dragon Heart”. Complement each other’s skill and learn how to play music and sound as one in a contemporary full musical band set up. “Feel the rhythm and music deep within your heart; hear the sound and the beat of a DragonHeart”. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

DREAMS: The CISM DREAMS (Disaster Response, Emergency Action and Medical Service) Corps is a service-oriented interest club that aims to train a core group of committed student volunteers to be prepared with basic skills and know-how in responding to and managing crisis situations during disasters and emergencies. Members will be trained in Basic First Aid skills, Disaster (flood, fire and earthquake) Preparedness, Basic Crisis Management skills, as well as basic survival skills. Members are expected to be able to lead and facilitate workshops for students on the said skills once they are trained. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
MUN: MUN is an educational simulation and academic competition in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches research, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Yearbook: The Yearbook Club is responsible for recording and publishing an account of the school through the school’s yearbook, the Mei Hwa. Students in Grades 9-12 who are interested and knowledgeable in journalism, photography and/or graphic design are encouraged to join as members of the yearbook staff this year. The staff is tasked to develop the theme, layout, photo content and composition, copy writing, setting up page designs, as well as meeting with printers/publishers, and distribution. The Yearbook Club offers students the opportunity to gain life skills, assume responsibilities of working with the CISM community and meeting deadlines, and have fun working as a team. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

Chorale: The Lower School and Upper School Chorale is a performing group that promotes teamwork, develops musical ability and uplifts musical appreciation through performance and structured activities. Students are given the opportunity to apply the concepts of vocal technique in an ensemble. The chorale meets twice every week to prepare for special events and future competitions and concerts inside and outside of school. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Chamber Music: This is a performing group with collaboration of different orchestral instruments. Students are exposed to different genres and periods of music appropriate for their ability. It provides students with a performance opportunity in a small ensemble repertoire. The Club promotes performance and enjoyment of chamber music with regular concerts inside and future concerts and festivals outside of school. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Taekwondo: Combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. Returning students and newcomers are equally welcome. A fee of PhP 3,300.00 (partially subsidized by CISM) will be charged for the semester or 22 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students.

Kiddies Bento: Bento is the Japanese art form of making a packaged lunch. It has taken a simple meal and turned it into an occasion, with beautifully designed lunchboxes and food that is so fun it resembles culinary art. In Kiddies Bento, children will learn how to hygienically prepare mouth watering delicacies. A fee of PhP 1,500.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Dancin’ in Beats! Spend Tuesday afternoons poppin' and lockin' to your favorite dance beats! It's a great way to show your groove and learn new moves. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Badminton: A racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles). We will learn the basic rules and shoot the shuttlecock back and forth for great fun every week. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Boys’ Basketball: Let’s shoot the hoops! Simple! The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Filmagine: Do you want tomake a great movie and be a FILM MAKER? Do you have a keen eye for every angle like a PHOTOGRAPHER? Join us and capture the real beauty and colors of life and be a “Filmagineer”. Make your own short films, capture a great moment and share it to the world. “A great moment will pass and you cannot repeat things and go back in time. But a great film and a photograph can be cherished like a frozen time.” The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Business and Leadership: An ideal training ground for current and future student leaders; this club intends to train students to actively design events, clubs and organizations in a more corporate like manner. As a practicum, club members will be required to set up fundraising activities for a cause worthy purpose, ideally tied up with some school events. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Portraiture: The class will enjoy learning the basic skills of drawing the face and the whole human head. Lessons will begin by working on individual parts and will continue by placing them together in proportion to build the whole. The students will be taught to render the face in lines leading to a fully shaded artwork. Central to the lessons is to learn skills in observing various sources of drawing ranging from two dimensional to life models. This class will prepare learners for the next stage: working on various techniques in style, coloration and materials. A fee of PhP 800.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

Rainbow Loom: Students in this club will have fun making the latest fashion statement…Rainbow Loom bracelets, necklaces, and more! If you like to be creative then this is the club for you! Each week students will learn a new pattern and have time to create their own masterpieces. New patterns are still being discovered. Let’s have fun discovering them together! (Students will need to bring a Rainbow Loom kit to participate in this club. Additional rubber bands may be needed.) The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Keyboarding: Students will play games and enjoy fun activities as they develop their typing skills. It is such an advantage to be able to type with 10 fingers rather than 2, and this is surely going to be even more of an advantage in tomorrow’s world! The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Total Football Nike Total Football Japan aims to offer football training to kids aged 6-18 years old. The program boasts of teaching methods and a football system that has been effective in creating great football players in Japan for the past 9 years. Charges are indicatively set at PhP 400.00 per session if students commit for the semester or 22 sessions and PhP 500.00 per session as a drop in rate. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students. Pricing and details to be firmed-up at a later date. 
Catechism: This club focuses on catechism memorization and understanding. It is designed to systematically teach the basics of knowing and serving God. The teaching is organized to cover the basic topics of creation, providence and salvation. Ethics and moral values will be developed by considering Christian values. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Printing Posse This club allows students to dip their fingers into an array of printmaking techniques -- silkscreen, heat press, burnishing, etc. Get bitten by the printing bug as you leave your own personalized mark on various printed fabric projects! A fee of PhP1,200.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Flying Dragons: Want to learn how to move like Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan? JOIN the WUSHU “Flying Dragons” as they swoosh and glide their way like a mighty dragon and learn the basic martial arts skills, control their movements and master their craft, imbedded with core values of Respect, Accountability and Discipline towards becoming a true martial artist. “Learn how to punch and kick properly, and you will win a fight. Learn how to discipline yourself and be accountable to your actions, and you will earn their respect.” The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Filipino Language: Filipino Club: Mabuhay! Know more about the Filipino language and culture through its food, music, art and celebrations. Experience the thrill of Philippine local games. Converse in Tagalog and buy from a local store. Join the club and discover that "it's more fun in the Philippines!" 
Dance! The Dance Club aims to immerse students in appreciation of pop, rock, RnB and house music through dance. Whether their goal is to improve on their kinesthetic skills, to lose weight by sweating through different routines, or to simply just move around and shake that extra stress off, this club is definitely for everyone who shows interest and exudes energy to move with the music, and just dance! The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
HSK 4 Vocab Review. Review for level 4 of the HSK Mandarin examinations. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Dragon Chronicles: Be a contributor to CISM’s own school Newspaper. There will be a number of leadership positions to be filled in this club and we will always be looking for new talent. We will also be looking for ways that the creativity of our students can be read and appreciated by a wide audience. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

Literary Magazine: Our literary magazine will be a periodical devoted to literature in the broadest sense. We aim to publish short stories, poetry and essays along with literary criticism, book reviews, biographical profiles of authors, interviews and letters. Chinese Story Telling: Chinese Story Telling club is aimed at improving students' listening and speaking skills and extending their vocabulary through listening to stories, watching Chinese cartoons and making their own stories with teachers' guidance. Students will be immersed in a Chinese speaking environment and will experience fun learning. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
YCT 4 Preparation: Vocabulary review with the use of Ipad apps. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Math Competitions: The Math Society is a club for CISM students with an interest in Mathematics. This class will give syudents a meaningful background in Mathematics by providing special programs of instruction in various topics such as, Number Sense and Theory (Elementary),Set Theory, Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics (Middle School and High School). It also serves as a vehicle for identifying and preparing participants for local and international math competitions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Basketball: Let’s shoot the hoops! Simple! The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

Dragon Repertory: The Dragon Repertory is much more than a club. It is something of an institution at CISM and its drama productions have always been one of the highlights of the school year. Michael Williams will soon be auditioning for all roles in this year’s production of Aladdin. Costumes will be charged to the account of the student. 
Total Football: Nike Total Football Japan aims to offer football training to kids aged 6-18 years old. The program boasts of teaching methods and a football system that has been effective in creating great football players in Japan for the past 9 years. Chess: National Master Roland Perez joins us to open CISM’s first Chess Club. Beginners and experienced players are equally welcome as we embark on a journey to develop a Chess club that we intend to enter into national and eventually international competitions in the future. Students will need to bring their own Chess sets. A fee of PhP 2,000.00 fee will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. 
Loom Band Entrepreneurs: Grades 3- 5 students are invited to join us for a free, hands-on rubber band loom club. This peer led group will make a variety of friendship mementos. Bring your loom and rubber bands and get ready to create! The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Chinese Cooking: A culinary cultural tour of the delights of preparing and sampling typical Chinese food. A fee of PhP 1,000.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. 
Multi-media Art This Art Club is designed for students who are seeking a creative outlet. It also helps to unlock their hidden talents in the fields of drawing, painting, sculpture, and creative arts. A fee of PhP 1,000.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

This club is for you! Learn basic ballet steps and enjoy expressing yourself through movement! Girls should come in ballet attire! (black leotards, white tights, white ballet shoes, hair in a bun (hairnet), pink ballet skirt). Boys that want to join should wear black tights, black ballet shoes and a white t- shirt. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Gymnastics: Coach Larry returns to continue the development of our future gymnasts! Newcomers welcome. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Golf: Students will be taught the basic swings and strokes and encouraged to develop their skills in golf. Parents are also welcome to join this activity! The cost is indicatively set at PhP 6,000.00 per student (depending on age) for a 12 week course. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Pricing and details to be firmed-up at a later date. Animal Encounters: Is your child crazy about animals? Animal Encounters is a club designed for animal lovers! Each week we will have fun filled educational activities to increase your child’s appreciation and respect for animals and their habitats. Isa and Tammie will bring a different animal to school, both wild and domestic and you'll learn about animal training, animals in our environment, amazing animal feats and even explore the slinky and slimy! The club will open with a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 15 students. Animal Assisted Activities: (To start on September 8, 2014) "Learn to safely interact, have fun and discover why dogs are considered man's best friend! Animal Assisted Activities or AAA is a club that promotes awareness about animals (dogs in particular). Their strengths, weaknesses and needs, while having a fun and safe environment for both humans and dogs. It also provides motivational and therapeutic benefits that enhance children's interest and general quality of life." The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students. Volleyball: Learn how to dig-set-spike and play competitive games. Develop agility, flexibility and better coordination as you do the drills. Be part of the training pool for a varsity volleyball team. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Dragon Heart: Grab your guitars and hold your picks high for we are about to start the school year with a bang!!! Calling all musicians (both experienced and aspiring), you are invited to join us and be one with the sound and hear the beat of the “Dragon Heart”. Complement each other’s skill and learn how to play music and sound as one in a contemporary full musical band set up. “Feel the rhythm and music deep within your heart; hear the sound and the beat of a DragonHeart”. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students.

First Semester After-School Activities Form FIRST SEMESTER: September 1 – November 28, 2014 Club Time: Unless indicated, clubs will start at 2:30 and end at 3:30 pm After School Activities 1st Semester School Year 2014-2015 Page 3 DREAMS: The CISM DREAMS (Disaster Response, Emergency Action and Medical Service) Corps is a service-oriented interest club that aims to train a core group of committed student volunteers to be prepared with basic skills and know-how in responding to and managing crisis situations during disasters and emergencies. Members will be trained in Basic First Aid skills, Disaster (flood, fire and earthquake) Preparedness, Basic Crisis Management skills, as well as basic survival skills. Members are expected to be able to lead and facilitate workshops for students on the said skills once they are trained. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. MUN: MUN is an educational simulation and academic competition in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches research, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Yearbook: The Yearbook Club is responsible for recording and publishing an account of the school through the school’s yearbook, the Mei Hwa. Students in Grades 9-12 who are interested and knowledgeable in journalism, photography and/or graphic design are encouraged to join as members of the yearbook staff this year. The staff is tasked to develop the theme, layout, photo content and composition, copy writing, setting up page designs, as well as meeting with printers/publishers, and distribution. The Yearbook Club offers students the opportunity to gain life skills, assume responsibilities of working with the CISM community and meeting deadlines, and have fun working as a team. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Students are given the opportunity to apply the concepts of vocal technique in an ensemble. The chorale meets twice every week to prepare for special events and future competitions and concerts inside and outside of school. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Chamber Music: This is a performing group with collaboration of different orchestral instruments. Students are exposed to different genres and periods of music appropriate for their ability. It provides students with a performance opportunity in a small ensemble repertoire. The Club promotes performance and enjoyment of chamber music with regular concerts inside and future concerts and festivals outside of school. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Taekwondo: Combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. Returning students and newcomers are equally welcome. A fee of PhP 3,300.00 (partially subsidized by CISM) will be charged for the semester or 22 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 15 students.

First Semester After-School Activities Form FIRST SEMESTER: September 1 – November 28, 2014 Club Time: Unless indicated, clubs will start at 2:30 and end at 3:30 pm After School Activities 1st Semester School Year 2014-2015 Page 4 Kiddies Bento: Bento is the Japanese art form of making a packaged lunch. It has taken a simple meal and turned it into an occasion, with beautifully designed lunchboxes and food that is so fun it resembles culinary art. In Kiddies Bento, children will learn how to hygienically prepare mouth watering delicacies. A fee of PhP 1,500.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Dancin’ in Beats! Spend Tuesday afternoons poppin' and lockin' to your favorite dance beats! It's a great way to show your groove and learn new moves. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Badminton: A racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles). We will learn the basic rules and shoot the shuttlecock back and forth for great fun every week. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Business and Leadership: An ideal training ground for current and future student leaders; this club intends to train students to actively design events, clubs and organizations in a more corporate like manner. As a practicum, club members will be required to set up fundraising activities for a cause worthy purpose, ideally tied up with some school events. The club will open with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 18 students. Portraiture: The class will enjoy learning the basic skills of drawing the face and the whole human head. Lessons will begin by working on individual parts and will continue by placing them together in proportion to build the whole. The students will be taught to render the face in lines leading to a fully shaded artwork. Central to the lessons is to learn skills in observing various sources of drawing ranging from two dimensional to life models. This class will prepare learners for the next stage: working on various techniques in style, coloration and materials. A fee of PhP 800.00 will be charged for the semester or 12 sessions. The program boasts of teaching methods and a football system that has been effective in creating great football players in Japan for the past 9 years. JOIN the WUSHU “Flying Dragons” as they swoosh and glide their way like a mighty dragon and learn the basic martial arts skills, control their movements and master their craft, imbedded with core values of Respect, Accountability and Discipline towards becoming a true martial artist. “Learn how to punch and kick properly, and you will win a fight.
