Rachel Rountree conducted a SWOT analysis of technology use at her school. She envisions teachers using technology for 75% of instruction and achieving higher-order thinking. Currently, every classroom has a SmartBoard, document camera, student response system and projector. However, the school relies on the county technology plan rather than having its own. Most teachers use SmartBoards daily but few other technologies. To improve, the school should create a unique technology plan, offer more training, and provide time for lesson planning with technology.

The majority of the teachers are already using the
SmartBoard everyday as instructional support in their
classroom. Aside from the SmartBoard, many
teachers are not branching out to use other types of
technologies in their classroom.
