Materials and references - Worksheets - ActivInspire Warm up (5 minutes) - Ask the students what a polygon is (a polygon is a figure or a shape that is formed only from at least three straight sides) and what is an area (an area is the total number of units that cover a shape). Procedure (10 minutes) - Play the area song. (Repeat it until the students memorize it) Practice (10 minutes) - Give the students worksheets that consist of identifying the area of every shape and then construct a shape having the same area as another one.
