Surajkund is an ancient reservoir located near Delhi that was built in the 10th century by the Tomar king Suraj Pal. It is an artificial lake constructed in the backdrop of the Aravalli Hills. Suraj Pal, who was a sun worshipper, had also built a sun temple on the western bank of the lake. The Surajkund reservoir was later refurbished during the rule of Feroz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th century.
