Surajkund is an ancient reservoir located near Delhi that was built in the 10th century by the Tomar king Suraj Pal. It is an artificial lake constructed in the backdrop of the Aravalli Hills. Suraj Pal, who was a sun worshipper, had also built a sun temple on the western bank of the lake. The Surajkund reservoir was later refurbished during the rule of Feroz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th century. Since 1987, the Haryana government has organized the annual Surajkund Crafts Mela at the site in February-March, featuring artisans and craftspeople from all over India alongside food stalls highlighting various regional cu

anagpur dam,located in haryana.
 It is an artificial kund built in the backdrop of Arravali hills .It
is said to have been built by Tomar king Suraj Pal of
Tomar dynasty.
 Tomar was a sun worshipper and he had therefore built sun
temple on its western bank.
 Another kund by same name existed in Sunam city,
famous for Surajkund Mela,tahsil and sub
division of Sangrur district in Punjab.This was sacked by
Mahmood Ghaznvi or Taimur lane.

colourful traditional craft festival of india is held in
surajkund.
• This fair was started in 1987.Traditional craftsmen from
all parts of country participate in this celebration.
• This mela is visited by lovers of arts and crafts from all
over world.The fair is held with different theme every
year on indian culture.
