Enabling Anonymous Access in SharePoint isn’t just a matter of flipping a switch in IIS manager. Anonymous Access must be enabled in IIS and then configured in SharePoint. But there are also situations where this basic configuration isn't sufficient. In this talk we’ll review how to enable and configure anonymous access for SharePoint web sites, lists, and libraries. Then we'll turn our attention to strategies that can be used overcome specific problems with SharePoint anonymous access. We'll demonstrate solutions and workarounds for questions like:
1) How do you require authentication for some items while maintaining anonymous access for the rest?
2) What content from a personal MySite can be accessed via anonymous access?
3) How do you enable anonymous responses to a discussion list?
4) Can BLOGS and Wiki sites be used in an anonymous access site collection?

Standing on shoulder of giants building Core Digital Media's data platform using Big Data technologies by Sooraj Akkammadam, ETL Architect, Core Digital Media
Core Digital Media is one of the leading advertisers in the online space. We are responsible for about a fifth of the ads a person sees online on a day to day basis. This is accomplished by our Marketing team, who continues to find performance wins by leveraging proprietary algorithms, deep learning models and advanced analytics to optimize the Ad spend. All these frameworks rely on the performance data available in the Core Digital Media’s Enterprise Data Warehouse - EDW to make decisions. The performance data is collected from a multitude of marketing channels like Social - Facebook, Search - Google, Content - Taboola, Media, Affiliate and Retention and integrated into EDW. Timely and consistent availability of data in EDW is extremely critical for marketing optimization. This talk details how we migrated our Marketing data loads from a legacy ETL platform to a data infrastructure built around Apache Kafka and Apache Spark, using Python and Scala. This migration not only lead to a reduction in data availability times from an average of 60+ minutes to 2 mins but also we are able to load 24*7 into the EDW. As a part of the talk we will talk about why we chose Kafka and Spark Structured streaming for this, what were some of the challenges we faced and also some of the best practices to follow for implementing data streaming architectures.
This is an overview of the key developer changes that the Spring '14 release to the Salesforce.com platform is going to bring. From Salesforce 1 to the Developer Console.
The presentation was delivered at the South West UK Developer User Group on March 5th by Force.com MVP Chris Lewis and Community Organiser Simon Lawrence.

Getting Started With the TFS Object ModelJeff Bramwell
Microsoft's Team Foundation Server (TFS) is a very capable platform for integrating all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). There is a great deal of functionality provided out of the box that will handle the majority of a development team's needs. However, there are times when you need to extend the functionality of TFS to handle scenarios not anticipated by Microsoft (or they just didn't have the time to get them built into the product). This session will cover the common APIs provided by the TFS Object Model and provide the knowledge needed to get started developing with TFS right away.

SharePoint Saturday Toronto 2015 - Inside the mind of a SharePoint ArchitectNoorez Khamis
On any SharePoint project, the core of the solution being built should be designed and architected first before being developed. With the flexibility of SharePoint solutions (specifically SharePoint 2013), there is never one way to design it right. The experienced SharePoint Architect however is able to figure out the best way for the project, constraints and client at hand. This session is meant to give insight to the average SharePoint Professional on what it takes to become and be a SharePoint Architect. It will help guide the aspiring SharePoint Architect on the items that really need to be thought of when architecting a SharePoint solution for your client and at the same time divulge some tricks of the trade learned from the countless enterprise SharePoint solutions I have successfully implemented over the years.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
