For years, SharePoint has been positioned as a web development platform, but it’s hard to build modern websites using SharePoint’s rigid UI, which is rooted in decade-old WebForms technology. These solutions often break when SharePoint is upgraded, either in a migration from SharePoint 2013 to 2016, or really at any moment with SharePoint online! In this session, you’ll learn how to follow the patterns Microsoft uses in its NextGen portals and build your own modern application using SharePoint and Office 365 as a set of services. These solutions are responsive and can be developed using contemporary ASP.NET MVC technology. Content is stored in SharePoint or Office 365, and is enhanced through the machine learning in Office Graph. You’ll even learn how to include your own line-of-business data without the need for complex BCS configurations. Join us and learn to make your own Next Generation portal backed by SharePoint and Office 365!

DITA is a great choice for writing technical documentation. Ideally, all contributors to a project should use it to provide content. But sometimes, subject matter experts (like developers, engineers) will prefer to give content in another format. We will explore what possibilities arise when this other format is Markdown, a good match for structured authoring cases in which a minimal markup is enough.
Attendees will learn:
what is structured authoring and what benefits it brings
what is the difference between content and markup
what are DITA’s strengths
what are Markdown’s strengths
We will explore what solutions we have when working in a project in which we have SMEs sending us Markdown. For example:
getting directly DITA from SMEs. Can it be done?
getting Markdown from SMEs and integrating it into the DITA pipelines
We will talk about the benefits of each solution but also about what challenges arise when choosing one solution over another.
Structured Authoring for Business-Critical ContentLavaCon
By Jason Aiken, Quark
For years DITA has armed technical documentation professionals with a componentized approach to content that overcomes the many challenges caused by stand-alone, static documents created in silos. The problem, however, is that there is so much other business-critical content out there that could benefit from a structured approach to authoring.
In this session you will learn:
--The definition of business-critical content and understand just how much exists.
--How expansive the market opportunity is for helping non-technical authors transform their businesses with structured authoring.
--What it takes for a non-technical author to adopt a structured authoring tool.
--Why it is critical for technical documentation experts to translate their best practices into solutions that non-technical content creators can apply to business-critical content.

JMeter webinar - integration with InfluxDB and GrafanaRTTS
Watch this recorded webinar about real-time monitoring of application performance. See how to integrate Apache JMeter, the open-source leader in performance testing, with InfluxDB, the open-source time-series database, and Grafana, the open-source analytics and visualization application.
In this webinar, we will review the benefits of leveraging InfluxDB and Grafana when executing load tests and demonstrate how these tools are used to visualize performance metrics.
Length: 30 minutes
Session Overview
-------------------------------------------
During this webinar, we will cover the following topics while demonstrating the integrations of JMeter, InfluxDB and Grafana:
- What out-of-the-box solutions are available for real-time monitoring JMeter tests?
- What are the benefits of integrating InfluxDB and Grafana into the load testing stack?
- Which features are provided by Grafana?
- Demonstration of InfluxDB and Grafana using a practice web application

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
