The truth about data: discovering what learners really wantLearningandTeaching
Learner success is an important element of any private provider’s competitive strategy. We want to be certain that we are meeting our commitments and delivering real value in terms of life-long learning experiences, successful outcomes, meaningful careers and industry partnerships.
Like most high quality dual sector providers, our broad focus is on excellence in learning & teaching. Our analysis of internal and external learner data drives our continuous improvement cycle and we are able to access increasingly sophisticated data sources that tell us almost everything we need to know about our learners – their demographic profile, how they learn, where they are most likely to succeed and fail, and their prospects for employment.
This presentation will reveal what we learned about learner success:
What our learner data revealed and what it didn’t reveal
What learner success initiatives worked and what didn’t work
What we intend to do in the future
In particular, the advantages and disadvantages of relying on data analytics to drive continuous improvement will be examined, including:
The benefits of using the far more accurate data now available from NCVER following the implementation of Total VET Activity reporting
The ability to create increasingly sophisticated profiles of our learners as a basis for customised learning support services that deliver real value to individual learners
The benefits of incorporating qualitative as well as quantitative analysis into our decision-making about how best to support learner success
In 2013, youth development nonprofit Our Piece of the Pie released its school-=based Dashboard that measured student performance. The system, unique to Connecticut, took multiple inputs from a variety of data sources and combined them into an integrated data warehouse.
Now, in 2014, OPP has produced Dashboard 2.0 that integrates the original dashboard with a Holistic Performance Index that measures student academic progress, student attendance, student behavior, career- and workforce-readiness, social emotional growth, and credit accumulation.
Catalysts for Social Action is an Indian NGO that works towards creating and ensuring a brighter future for every child under institutional care.
We strive to ensure a future for children in need of care and protection which pays attention to their physical, emotional, personal and spiritual wellbeing and learning.

It aims to improve gender parity, education outcomes, workforce participation, and social equity by helping students make informed career choices matched to their strengths. The proposal outlines a phased program and options for career guidance alone or with additional career labs in schools.

Slides used by GenWise to present at UNESCO MGIEP's TECH 2019 conference. The talk covers the need for educating students on complex causality and how this can be faciliatted through the use of simulation tools
Many children are interested in complex issues which involve visualizing effects of multiple factors over time and space, factoring in uncertainty, and adopting multiple perspectives. Technology-based tools like Netlogo, Loopy and Plectica, among others, enable school students to model such issues in a sophisticated manner. This talk at the NAGC convention 2019 shares our experience in using such tools with students.
This document outlines an approach to nurturing versatile thinkers for the future called "versatilists." It discusses using curated material from multiple perspectives to help students develop contextual understanding of complex issues. It recommends providing tools to help map systems and relationships, including computer simulations. Experiential learning through interactions with experts and real-world experiences can help students see issues more deeply and sensitively. Developing habits of thinking includes asking better questions, recognizing cognitive biases, and understanding paradigms of causality and change. The goal is to equip students with the abilities to understand complexity, connect interrelated factors, and develop holistic solutions.
This document summarizes upcoming summer programs offered by GenWise for gifted and talented students. It describes two-week residential programs in Bengaluru called GenWise Summer School for early explorers in grades 5-6 and advanced students in grades 7-9, as well as two-week day scholar programs in Mumbai for junior students in grades 4-6 and senior students in grades 7-9. The programs are aimed at developing students' excellence, contribution, interests, aptitudes, knowledge, skills and exposure through an integrated curriculum taught by expert mentors using experiential learning approaches. Contact information is provided at the end.
This talk argues that education should equip learners to respond to a world in crisis. Responding to such a world requires learners to have the ability to think in terms of interconnected systems, depth of expertise in 1-2 fields and a broad appreciation of multiple fields. Such an individual is termed as a 'versatilist'- he or she can see problems or opportunities better and can engage collaboratively with people from other fields. GenWise's efforts towards building and offering such a curriculum are described.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

7. Delighted Alumni…
• Sample schools represented in our Programs Safety/ Security
I haven’t sent the kid anywhere alone as yet so the
safety and security concerns were of utmost
concern on my evaluation criteria. And I must say
that Genwise excelled in them. The kids were
never left alone, there were supervisors at all
points in time, always tracking the kids.
Course Content
The first part of the day is spent in subject matter
and the second part in co-curriculars. The course
content delivery faculty is very good and the co-
curriculars are fantastic.
Accessibility
The team were always accessible for any queries,
big or small.
All in all, I can sum it up by saying that I wish I had
sent Advit for a longer time. (They went out of
their way in many ways to accommodate him.)
And I wish I had known of them earlier. I would
have sent him on multiple occasions in the past.

10. Gifted students- unique needs and challenges
Psychosocial
• developing peer to peer relationships (not in a sufficiently challenging environment)
• managing perfectionism (high expectations of self and fear of losing the ‘gifted’ label)
• managing anxiety and stress (competing at an advanced level)
• low self-esteem (when they are achieving below their potential)
• developing executive function skills (lack of adequate challenge may have resulted in
not working on these)
• avoiding burn-out (student is good at school, may take on too many activities)
Overall
• Insufficient Challenge- bored, disruptive in class
• Insufficient Opportunity to pursue interests- starts losing interest & motivation
• Lack of peer group with similar abilities and interests
• ‘Twice- exceptional’ students also exist

12. Nature of Activities in our Residential
Programs
Apart from hands-on and minds-on
‘academic enrichment’ tasks,
children experience ‘active pursuits’
like cooking, gardening, music and
dance, and ‘inward reflections’
through nature walks, journaling,
facilitated dialogue and body
awareness exercises.
