are parents doing wrong?
India Needs 15 lakh Counsellor for 315 million students
WHY IS “CAREER GUIDANCE”
SO CRITICAL NOW?
83 Crore population lives in the rural areas which is 68.84% of
the total population of India. There are 17.99% youth in the
age bracket of 15-24 (Preparatory Workforce) and
another 11% in the 10 to 14 years (would be workforce).
With almost 29% percent of the Indian population being
“would be or under preparation” workforce and another
17% of youth in an age bracket between 25 and 34 that
“should be” in the current workforce. 45% population has
no structured way to be informed of their potential and
opportunities they have in terms of employment and skill
development.

I-Inspire is a 5 day skill development outbound residential training workshop for Trainers from Skilling providers
Training of Trainers (I-INSPIRE)
Conducted career guidance workshops & set up Career Labs in many schools in PCMC and other locations such as Kill Bill,
Akshara International, Dutta Meghe group of schools

Provide job, self employment and skilling opportunities to rural youth using mobile app, technology & psychometrics

A Youth Employability Services (YES) centre has been established in Chandrapur district in association with UNDP & State government to empower
youth by providing them career guidance and job/ skilling/ self employment opportunities through Kaaryam.

OUR PROPOSAL :CAREER GUIDANCE
ECOSYSTEM FOR THE STATE
Dheya, proposes to develop and implement a comprehensive Career Guidance ecosystem to
cover all students above 13 yrs of age in the state of Chattisgarh.
A. Dheya will customise and build reliable psychometric assessment tools that would be used to
generate a psychological profile of the student.
B. Dheya would assist the statein developing local career mentors as “Margadarshaks” and helping
the students access career guidance opportunities and bridge the career information gap using
mobile applications.
C. “Margadarshaks” would be trained on interpreting the psychometrics reports and the
psychological profile of the students, to guide them into right career in the world of work.
D. Dheya acting as the central knowledge and research unit will provide research information about
latestcareer,trends, occupational knowledge, job and skill opportunity information.
E. Dheya would back it up with technology, mobile apps ,information, researchand tools through an
ecosystemof Career Guidance.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE
(i) Career Guidance of 9th to 12th Class Students – Two
weeks program including awareness workshops, psychometric
assessment & one to one guidance session by senior mentors.
(ii) Setting up of Career Labs – Year long program, with career
guidance in first two weeks followed by quarterly career planning
activities and half yearly follow up sessions by senior mentors.
* School teachers can be trained as mentors to make the project sustainable
over a long period

PHASE 1
Conduct special programs and workshops in
the school for parents as well as children to
build acceptance. Conduct psychometric
assessment of the registered students &
generate individual report.
CAREER GUIDANCE & GOAL
SETTING
Senior mentors from Dheya will visit the school &
conduct personalised one to one session of 15-
30 mins (with parents) for Career decision
making & Development Plan for each student
ASSIGNING SENIOR MENTORS
TO THE CAREER LAB
Dheya would assign Senior Mentors from the Dheya
Mentor community to the Lab, who will visit the school
once a quarter to conduct career building activities and
assess progress of students.
POST INTERVENTION
ENGAGEMENT DHEYA
Using the technology we can map and track
the activities of the students. We would
transfer a mobile app through a “Mentor for
life” program.
MONITORING , MIS AND IMPACT
ANALYSIS
Dheya will give access to the monitoring and MIS
dashboard for really time monitoring of the progress.
An yearly impact analysis will be compiled with the
feedbacks of parents.
RUN CAREER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
Run interventions as planned. Dheya coordinators would
coordinate with school staff and the mentors will conduct
the activities according to the individualised development
plans prepared for the students.

Adapt the current technology, mobile
apps and knowledge tools, with an
integrated psychometrics for career

trained to work on mobile applications as
well as LMS.

Dheya would assign Career Mentors from
the current community of Mentors who
will execute the program. Dheya would
build a community of local Employees to
support the project.
ASSIGNING CAREER MENTORS
We would customise and design the
interventions and create a year long
development intervention in each school
focussed upon building aspirations and
dreams as well as capabilities pertinent to
their energies and potential.
INTERVENTION DESIGN
Dheya would build the individual
development plan for each child based on
the family background, parental
expectations as well as the strengths &
aspirations of the student.

While the students would become aware of their strengths ,
talents and potential they hold.
They would make informed career choices and decisions and
would be hand held by senior mentors and groomed well through
activities.
The development plans will be customised to their requirements,
family expectations as well as their own aspirations and strengths.
Impact assessment in terms of feedbacks from parents / grand
parents as well as academic performance and willingness to
educate/ skill themselves will be done and shared.

PHASE 1 - ORIENTATION & STARTING UP: 01 Week program per school with multiple activities by Dheya’s
Career Mentors and local representatives. Orientation workshops, parent sessions and student activities
including assessments will be done during this phase by all the registered students.
PHASE 2 - CAREER GUIDANCE & MENTORING: The intervention includes Career Orientation workshop,
Personalised one to one session of 15-30 mins (with parents), and Individualised Career decision making,
Individualised Development Plan for each student.

  • 2. PROJECT RATIONALE 93% Indian students aware of just seven career options: What are parents doing wrong? India Needs 15 lakh Counsellor for 315 million students WHY IS “CAREER GUIDANCE” SO CRITICAL NOW? 83 Crore population lives in the rural areas which is 68.84% of the total population of India. There are 17.99% youth in the age bracket of 15-24 (Preparatory Workforce) and another 11% in the 10 to 14 years (would be workforce). With almost 29% percent of the Indian population being “would be or under preparation” workforce and another 17% of youth in an age bracket between 25 and 34 that “should be” in the current workforce. 45% population has no structured way to be informed of their potential and opportunities they have in terms of employment and skill development.
  • 3. OUR SOCIAL INITIATIVES How do we impact rural youth.. I-Inspire is a 5 day skill development outbound residential training workshop for Trainers from Skilling providers Training of Trainers (I-INSPIRE) Conducted career guidance workshops & set up Career Labs in many schools in PCMC and other locations such as Kill Bill, Akshara International, Dutta Meghe group of schools Career Guidance Provide job, self employment and skilling opportunities to rural youth using mobile app, technology & psychometrics Kaaryam A Youth Employability Services (YES) centre has been established in Chandrapur district in association with UNDP & State government to empower youth by providing them career guidance and job/ skilling/ self employment opportunities through Kaaryam. OUR PROPOSAL :CAREER GUIDANCE ECOSYSTEM FOR THE STATE Dheya, proposes to develop and implement a comprehensive Career Guidance ecosystem to cover all students above 13 yrs of age in the state of Chattisgarh. A. Dheya will customise and build reliable psychometric assessment tools that would be used to generate a psychological profile of the student. B. Dheya would assist the statein developing local career mentors as “Margadarshaks” and helping the students access career guidance opportunities and bridge the career information gap using mobile applications. C. “Margadarshaks” would be trained on interpreting the psychometrics reports and the psychological profile of the students, to guide them into right career in the world of work. D. Dheya acting as the central knowledge and research unit will provide research information about latestcareer,trends, occupational knowledge, job and skill opportunity information. E. Dheya would back it up with technology, mobile apps ,information, researchand tools through an ecosystemof Career Guidance.
  • 5. DHEYA’S COMPETENCIES TECHNOLOGY & TOOLS Dheya has the state of art technology that is cloud based and uses mobile technology. Dheya also has a state of the art career tracking tools hosted on the cloud. DEVELOPING CAREERMENTORS Dheya’s competence is in developing inspired career mentors from the community who can interpret the psychometrics and guide the youth for informedcareerdecisions. RESEARCHANDINFORMATION Using community fundamentals and technology, our research team builds data, information and research about careers, occupations and jobs in the current and the nearfuture.   • 7. OPTIONS AVAILABLE (i) Career Guidance of 9th to 12th Class Students – Two weeks program including awareness workshops, psychometric assessment & one to one guidance session by senior mentors. (ii) Setting up of Career Labs – Year long program, with career guidance in first two weeks followed by quarterly career planning activities and half yearly follow up sessions by senior mentors. * School teachers can be trained as mentors to make the project sustainable over a long period

  • 10. HOW WE COLLABORATE JOINT EFFORT FOR A LONG TERM IMPACT.. PHASE 1 Conduct special programs and workshops in the school for parents as well as children to build acceptance. Conduct psychometric assessment of the registered students & generate individual report. CAREER GUIDANCE & GOAL SETTING Senior mentors from Dheya will visit the school & conduct personalised one to one session of 15- 30 mins (with parents) for Career decision making & Development Plan for each student ASSIGNING SENIOR MENTORS TO THE CAREER LAB Dheya would assign Senior Mentors from the Dheya Mentor community to the Lab, who will visit the school once a quarter to conduct career building activities and assess progress of students. POST INTERVENTION ENGAGEMENT DHEYA Using the technology we can map and track the activities of the students. We would transfer a mobile app through a “Mentor for life” program. MONITORING , MIS AND IMPACT ANALYSIS Dheya will give access to the monitoring and MIS dashboard for really time monitoring of the progress. An yearly impact analysis will be compiled with the feedbacks of parents. RUN CAREER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES Run interventions as planned. Dheya coordinators would coordinate with school staff and the mentors will conduct the activities according to the individualised development plans prepared for the students. ORIENTATION AND STARTING UP PHASE 2 PHASE 3 (Optional – Only If Career Labs to be set up)
  • 11. ROLE OF DHEYA Adapt the current technology, mobile apps and knowledge tools, with an integrated psychometrics for career guidance of the students. Students will be trained to work on mobile applications as well as LMS. TECHNOLOGY & TOOLS Dheya would assign Career Mentors from the current community of Mentors who will execute the program. Dheya would build a community of local Employees to support the project. ASSIGNING CAREER MENTORS We would customise and design the interventions and create a year long development intervention in each school focussed upon building aspirations and dreams as well as capabilities pertinent to their energies and potential. INTERVENTION DESIGN Dheya would build the individual development plan for each child based on the family background, parental expectations as well as the strengths & aspirations of the student.   • 12. IMPACT WE CAN MAKE TOGETHER We see huge impact both in tangible and qualitative terms in this project. While the students would become aware of their strengths , talents and potential they hold. They would make informed career choices and decisions and would be hand held by senior mentors and groomed well through activities. The development plans will be customised to their requirements, family expectations as well as their own aspirations and strengths. Impact assessment in terms of feedbacks from parents / grand parents as well as academic performance and willingness to educate/ skill themselves will be done and shared. MORE WILLINGNESS - INFORMED YOUTH BRIDGING THE INFORMATION GAP POSITIVE OPTIMISTIC ORIENTATION MORE FOCUSSED STUDENTS INCREASED GER IN HIGHER EDUCATION FOCUSSED DEVELOPMENT INCREASED CONFIDENCE POSITIVE LIVELIHOODS.

Orientation workshops, parent sessions and student activities including assessments will be done during this phase by all the registered students. PHASE 2 - CAREER GUIDANCE & MENTORING: The intervention includes Career Orientation workshop, Personalised one to one session of 15-30 mins (with parents), and Individualised Career decision making, Individualised Development Plan for each student. OPTION 1 – CAREER GUIDANCE OF 9TH TO 12TH CLASS STUDENTS COST - RS. 1800 PER STUDENT MIN.
