Introduction
Conformity is the tendency for an individual to change their attitude, opinion or behaviour to
adhere to existing social norms. A well known study of this concept is the Asch conformity
experiment, a series of studies directed by psychologist Solomon Asch studying if and how
individuals yield to or defy a majority group, and the effect of these influences (McLeod, 2008). In
this investigation, the aim is to determine the effect that family size has on conformity, through a
common sense questionnaire to be completed by the participants. It is expected that participants
with larger families, will be more affected by conformity.
Hypothesis: A participant with a larger family size is more likely to conform compared to a
participant with a smaller family size.
Participants: The participants of this study are 37 Year 11 students in two psychology classes at
Saint Aloysius College. All participants are female, and 16 17 years of age.

Interpretation
The hypothesis was not supported when considering the results obtained through the investigation.
The table and graph showed that participants with a larger family size showed lower conformity
levels than those with a smaller family size. Participants with no siblings had an average
conformity score of 11, participants with one sibling decreased very slightly to 10.95 and those

I feel that I have learned a lot in this course, and understanding these basic principles of
microeconomics has changed the way that I view everyday activities and transactions. I have a
better understanding of the key concepts that go into decisions we make, whereas before I think I
accepted a lot of everyday decision making at face value. Now I understand that even if it is
subconscious we are making tradeoffs in our decision making.
Going into the course I could easily have repeated concepts like supply and demand without
actually knowing what they really meant, in particular in relation to price and utility. For
example when I see things like the recent talk about gas prices, I can understand the issue much
more clearly now. Whereas before we would loosely think of a concept like gas prices and accept
what we hear as to how those prices come about, I can see now that a lot of what we hear especially
from politicians simply does not match up with reality. Supply is more or less fixed, global demand
is rising, and that is why gas prices are rising. Having a lot more knowledge about how markets
really work in this world allows me to cut through some of the nonsense people say more easily,
and I can combat economic myths I hear from my friends, too.

This will consist of 10 frame animation clips with a textual description of the scene, and this will
likely require work to be outsourced to Amazon Mechanical Turk (AMT).
On AMT, participants can be paid a small amount to watch the clip and provide short descriptions
of what they observed. Animated clips can be found on websites such as YouTube, and I expect
that having at least 6,000 total frames should provide a solid starting point. After checking the
AMT responses and the downloaded clips, the data set can be split sixty/forty into its initial training
and evaluation subsets.
While the data set is being assembled, I will begin designing the initial architecture for the
CNN. This will include a literature review of the most recent peer reviewed papers in computer
vision so that my model innovates on the current state of the art. I will implement this model in
the programming language Python with the Caffe deep learning framework, which I used during

Literary Devices In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The author uses many literary devices in The Epic of Gilgamesh in order to describe the
character of Humbaba, the one who guards the cedar forest, because he wants the reader to be
just as fearful of the character as Enkidu, who is the speaker of lines 155 158 in the text. The
character s fear of the ugly beast is ironic because when Enkidudies Gilgamesh too becomes afraid
to die. Another reason I chose this short passage is that the author uses imagery and foreshadowing
to hint to the reader what happens later on in the epic and I believe it is essential to the poem. The
author also uses repetition in order to stress the idea that Humbabais not to be tormented. Enkidu
warns Gilgamesh not to go near the forest of cedars to kill Humbaba, but Gilgamesh laughs at
him and asks Enkidu why he is afraid to die all of the sudden. The paragraph I chose also prepares
the reader for unforeseen events that occur later on in the epic poem, including Enkidu s death.
Enkidu is weary of Gilgamesh s plan and is not in agreeance to join him initially. He questions
Gilgamesh s idea about the quest to kill Humbaba. Enkidu says, How shall the likes of us go to

A. Describe
Since my faith community, The House LA Church, is located in the same area where we did the
LA Urban Exegesis project, I chose to reflect on the cultural and social aspects of Santa Monica, a
beachfront city in the western Los Angeles County. Even though the city has more than 900 of the
homeless population (City of Santa Monica, 2017), it is considered to be an affluent urban dwelling
due to the diversified economy that includes media production, tourism, finance, and other
industries.
Upon exegeting the city, I walked through three main areas of Santa Monica, the Third Street
Promenade, the Main Street, and the Montana Avenue. Then, I visited an Anglican Church located
in Santa Monica, the Vintage Church LA. I was curious to uncover how this faith community
meets the spiritual and social needs of people of Santa Monica; hence I managed to have a
meeting with one of its pastors. At the end of this exercise, I attended an Alpha Course session; the
program ran by this church, which aims to create a safe and welcoming space for spiritual seekers
from all backgrounds to discuss spirituality and Christianity in particular.
