Inspirational Exercises for Your Career and Personal BrandFahri Karakas
In this seminar, we have a couple of activities aimed at improving your employability and personal brand.
First, we discuss your job application portfolio.
Second, we prepare our benchmarking table. In this exercise, you learn about brands at multiple levels (country brands, company brands, and individual brands). You choose 3 countries, 4 companies, and 4 individuals. You reflect on their success stories and brand power: What can you learn from these brands? How can you learn further? You create lessons and inspiration from these brands for your career.
Third, you create a business model canvas to create your own creative assets. You might use this activity to plan your asset creation strategies, such as creating your own YouTube channel, podcast, or Medium blog.
Fourth, you create a personal branding canvas to improve your employability. We go over a sample personal branding canvas exercise to illustrate how you can position yourself and your brand for the companies that you are applying for.
Best luck in your job applications.

How can good design be integrated into your business profitably? Jane will answer this question by considering the ‘anti-problem’. She will share 10 ways designers and business people can guarantee their behaviours and activities will ensure they never see eye-to-eye, their efforts will be wasted and everyone involved will know it is not their fault. You will probably recognise most of these techniques in action in your own organisation. That is the anti-pattern.

Ayyappan (also called Sastavu, Manikandan or Sasta) is a Hindu deity who is the son of Harihara, fused with both Shiva and Vishnu. He is generally depicted in a yogic posture, wearing a jewel around his neck, hence named Manikandan, Literally meaning "With bell around the neck".
By the 20th century, there has been an increase in the number of worshipers of Ayyappan from many different groups, spurred by vast improvements in transport and communication in southern India.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

WE DO
…………………………………………………………………………
At Successify we are creating a global community of young
idea makers by offering them an integrated flow to develop
their abilities to execute on their ideas and improve their
chances of launching successful startup projects.
Set up as a pre-startup environment for young idea
makers, Successify designs discovery processes and engages
in learning experiences for young creative people, which allows
them to clarify their motivation on becoming entrepreneurs.
Successify plans to become an educational framework for
young creative people globally and empower them to put more
of their ideas into practice better. Such a framework should
function as a pre-startup space for tomorrow’s
entrepreneurs.
We are targeting young idea makers (17 – 25 years old)
interested in translating their creativity into real life solutions
and products by setting up entrepreneurial ventures.

WHY CARE
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
PROBLEM
It’s an education issue:
Our schools are not set to create entrepreneurs.
Our schools are not set to build business creators.
Our schools are structured to create employees.
Our schools don’t necessarily empower creativity and innovation in their students.
Our schools don’t create an environment for implementing young people’s creativity.
There is a gap:
The education environment is rapidly changing [see for instance the new models Coursera or
Udemy or General Assembly bring into the market], but there still is a huge gap between
what we are taught by school, our creative ideas and the execution of those ideas.
The schools are struggling to cover that gap, while the new business institutions like
accelerators, incubators, and early stage investors are also approaching the things from the
wrong end.
A new model is needed:
What’s needed is a new model that would put together guidance, knowledge, and tools in a
tightly integrated infrastructure for young creative people who want to implement their
creativity.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
SOLUTION
We want to be an important part in covering the gap between ideas and the capacity to implement
them, at the beginning by creating an integrating environment that will link the motivation,
knowledge and tools for executing on our ideas.
The solution will consist of an infrastructure for making idea creators speed up and improve their
idea implementation abilities, by following a simple 3 steps path:
ü clarifying the motivation
ü acquiring the basic knowledge
ü finding and using the suitable tools.
The mission successify has assumed is to cover the gap between the personal creativity of these
young people and their abilities to execute on their ideas.
Step 1: an online platform that matches idea makers and local and international mentors
Step 2: + an idea implementation management platform
Step 3: + a hub for connecting external providers of knowledge & tools
successify is set up as a pre-startup environment for young idea makers, where these
people will go through a series of interactive learning experiences and practical, real-life
doing exercises that would allow them to clarify their motivation for becoming
entrepreneurs and then acquire the fundamental knowledge set and experiment with
the most suitable tools available now for executing on their ideas.

DEVELOPMENT STAGE
Page | 6
We are set up as a start-up and we are following the Customer Development methodology and
assume a lean development approach for building this project.
Based on the problem validation progress so far, we started to build our MVP – our first
mentorship pilot program available on our website www.successify.me
We follow Customer Discovery phase for the first solution, and then proceed to validating the
solution desirability for the core market.
