Helping the students in the new academic year to enjoy their learning. There are many ways to learn smartly. Here my attempt is to organize 9 ways to study well. When I took this session I felt it’s really useful for my participants. So I would like top share these slides with Slide Share. - These three principles are applied for any life situation I agre, and I got these from Nick Vujicic (www.lifewithoutlimbs.org). These principles are applicable for a student as well. He or she can dream big about the future, never feel to get away from the primary responsibility as a student and can be thankful to his/her parents, teachers as well as the friends.
- These days what I have been felt about studies and students most of them are not enjoying the learning at all. If you are rightly engaged in your learning which would provide enough enjoyment and the same would equip you to take up the challenges of your future life.
- Avoid all negative elements like procrastination, let me see attitude, carelessness etc., in your studies intelligently. Negative circumstances and thoughts must be avoided.
- The study place is very important factor to excel in your studies. Keep the place as tidy as well as separated from all sort of disturbance.
- Arrange your body clock for a better study performance, which would enhance the receptivity of your brain. Same time everyday makes you learning hungry, man!
- Auditory, visual or kinaesthetic you can find (http://www.allthetests.com/quiz30/quiz/1385241980/Are-you-a-Visual-Auditory-or-Kinesthetic-Person) it and fix your style according to that. Remember that if your different senses take part together in your learning the result will be more satisfactory.
- Choose them wisely… avoid interest draining people. Combine study is one of the best study techniques but beware of the time passing activities during the learning time.
- Marks you readiness and helps you to concentrate more on your studies. Prepare all the needy thing at a hand distance only.
- You need this but short breaks and affordable rewards only.
- Keep the balance in both: your body and mind, time and portions and tough and easy portions etc..
- Record the lesson in to the voice recorder of your mobile while you read it and then you need to listen the recording if you are an auditory learner. Use appropriate devise according to your study style. Anyway you need to be more smart.
- Don’t spend all of your time studying – have friends, keep in touch with your family, & find interests outside of school that you can pursue & enjoy long. Note this statement. Change the underlined part with “your time with your friends” and continue your reading and try to understand the new meaning then. Try this then with your family, find interest outside the school etc. So you need a perfect balance of the whole features to study smart.
- Now some famous methods….my definitions to each letter in this acronym are: A- stands for Ask, S- simulate, P- preparation, I- interest, R- review and E- experience.
- S- Survey, Q- Questions, R- Read, R- Review & R-Revise.
- Prepare a list of already known things in the new unit, wants to learn and after the learning the learned things and keep it.
- Every sentence has a key word… every paragraph has a key sentence and every essay has a key paragraph put this key word or key sentence or the key paragraph on one side of the index card and the other side write a question about the same. Very useful method.
