Discipline involves suppressing base desires and acting based on reason rather than fun or desire. It requires developing good habits and routines like getting on a schedule, eating healthy, exercising, studying effectively, and respecting the environment. Self-discipline is essential for achieving goals and success, as it allows one to focus effort on important tasks through delayed gratification. Developing discipline requires continuous practice over time and mastering the ability to control one's mind and thoughts.
Class rooms becoming Smart.. kids already smarter than the class rooms.. Unless parents are not smart handling them and mentoring them is a big challenge.. Instead of fighting with them now we can decode their talents and nurture them effectively.
Children often seek a sense of belonging at school and will engage in certain behaviors to fit in among their peers (someone in their age group). Even in preschool they are becoming concerned with what their friends think and do.
Children want to be well liked and included in a group, which makes them susceptible to peer pressure (influence that members of the same age group can have over each other). Peer pressure has been shown to affect children as early as preschool age and becomes an even greater risk as they transition into middle and high school.
For students, parents and teachers it is important to know what is exam anxiety. It is equally important to know about effective techniques to manage it.

How to make classroom rules effectivelySreng Pagna
In this presentation is a research of how to make classroom rules effectively. There are actually 6 questions to ask, but the last question I thought it is just how to continue adopting the rules so I choose only 5 questions to include in this slide.
Teachers need practical and and quick-to-implement strategies to teach self-management to children. Many people are familiar with self-management through Walter Mischel's Marshmallow test. (Some people call it self-control or self-regulation.)
Self-management is a key enabler for all learning (for children and adults!) whether for academic subjects, other content areas, or skills like playing a musical instrument. Self-management allows students to follow through on plans to complete assignments, study for tests, and manage their emotions to stay focused in class.

❖ The Latin origin of the word discipline is ‘to teach’.
❖ Disciplining the student child means teaching them responsible behavior and selfcontrol.
❖ With appropriate and consistent discipline, then students will learn about
consequences and taking responsibility for their own actions.
❖ At its best, discipline rewards the student for appropriate behavior and discourages
inappropriate behavior, using fair and positive means, it is known as healthy discipline.

Education: What does it take to keep control of a class?: Managing groups of children is a fundamental skill of teaching, but theories differ about whether it is inborn, a question of trial and error or can be learnt.
Every teacher, administrator and parent knows that how one interacts with a child is often times more important than what specifically is said ... an introduction to 'Positive Interactions' in the classroom ...

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. Discipline
To think good thoughts requires effort.
This is one of the thing that discipline (training) is about…..
Discipline is the suppression of base desires, and usually
understood to be synonymous with restrain and self control.
Self discipline is to some extent a substitute for motivation.
Discipline is when uses reason to determine the best course of
action regardless of one’s desire, which may be the opposite of
fun.
2. • Get on a good schedule.
We need structure and routine in our lives. Our bodies expect
it. They perform best when we operate on a regular schedule.
We especially need to eat and sleep about the same time each
day. If you are the parent of a young child, it is your job to
teach this habit early. This routine stays with a person their
whole life and helps them to develop good work habits. Find a
schedule that works for you and stick to it!
• Eat a healthy diet.
Our brains need the right food to perform at their peak.
Don’t go to school on an empty stomach. Students need to
train themselves early to eat a balanced and healthy diet. We
tend to carry the habits we learn when we are young forward
with us for most of our lives. Learning to eat right now can
avoid many health issues down the road.
3. • Learn to exercise.
We need physical activity to stay healthy. The benefits of
regular exercise are well documented. We need to find
exercise routines that are fun and match our individual
tastes. Developing a good exercise routine is a habit that
will increase both the quantity and quality of your life.
• Develop good study habits.
Studying effectively is a skill. People that live life to the
fullest are lifelong learners. They never stop trying new
things. One needs to study and gather new knowledge in an
effective and efficient manner. Learning how to study and
acquire the knowledge to succeed doesn’t just occur
naturally. It needs to be taught. Take a study skills course or
ask others for tips on improving your study habits.
4. • Respect the environment
It seems to be hip to be “green”, but being a good steward of our
environment is really not that new. Wise parents have been
teaching these principles to their children for ages. We only have
this one world and we depend on it for our survival. Every person
needs to do their part to protect what we have. Develop habits
now that will help you to be a good environmental citizen for a
lifetime!
5. Personal Management And Self Discipline
All great success in life is preceded by long, sustained periods of
focused effort on a single goal, the most important goal, with the
determination to stay with it until it is complete. Throughout
history, we find that every man or woman who achieved anything
lasting and worthwhile, had engaged in long, often unappreciated
hours, weeks, months and even years of concentrated, disciplined
work, in a particular direction. Fortunately the quality of self
discipline is something that you can learn by continuous practice,
over and over, until you master it. Once you have mastered the
ability to delay gratification, the ability to discipline yourself to
keep your attention focused on the most important task in front of
you, there is virtually no goal that you cannot accomplish and no
task that you cannot complete.
6. There are several disciplines that you need to develop if you want to
achieve your full potential. The first of these is the discipline
of goals. This means that you sit down with a pad of paper, a pen
and ample time. You think through and then make a written list of
all the things you want to accomplish in the next one, two, three,
four and five years. You organize the list into the various areas of
your life; your career, your money, your family, your health and the
other parts that are important to you. You set priorities among your
goals and re-write your lists so that your most important goals are at
the top. You then take a separate sheet of paper and you make a list
of all the things that you can think of doing, right now, to move you
toward the attainment of your most important goals.
7. School Etiquette
• Good discipline is a prerequisite of kids to
enable school teachers to be able to teach a
group of children the skills they will rely on for
the rest of their lives.
• It would help the education system immensely if children (including
older students) arrived at school well disciplined, well mannered,
obedient and respectful of adults.
• Teach them the three R's before they get to school: Respect for self;
Respect for others and to accept Responsibility for all their actions.
• Have them join the Cub Scouts, Scouts or Girl Guides at an early age
and continuously until they are old enough for the next step
8. School Etiquette - Class Room

11. Personal Space – Follow the general principles of allowing everyone
their personal space to prevent making anyone uncomfortable.
Email Etiquette – When you email someone, whether it is a teacher, fellow
student, or someone you work with, respect their time and sensibilities by
exhibiting good manners through electronic communication.
Acknowledging Others – Never take credit for someone else’s work. Not only
is it rude, it makes you appear to not be smart enough to come up with ideas of
your own. By the same token, when someone receives an award, be the first to
offer congratulations. It shows that you are a team player and will make others
respect you even more in the classroom and on the job.
Dress Appropriately – Follow the school and work dress code. Doing
otherwise can be distracting and get you into all kinds of trouble.
Job Interview Etiquette – Follow general etiquette tips when interviewing for a
job. This will make you stand out as a viable candidate and have the employer
looking at you with respect.
Respect Coworkers and Fellow Students – Follow proper etiquette in
relationships with your coworkers and friends at school. You are more likely
to get good grades, raises, promotions, and letters of recommendations if you
show good manners to people you work with.
12. To enjoy good health, to bring happiness to one’s life,
To bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind .
If a man can control his mind he can find the to Enlighten, and all wisdom and virtue will
naturally come to him..
