Law Enforcement Combating Deep Web Criminal Activity Essay
Security and privacy concerns present challenges for law enforcement combating deep web criminal
activity. Crimes committed on or with the Internet are relatively new. Those crimes include illicit trade
in drugs, weapons, wildlife, stolen goods, or people; illegal gambling; sex trafficking; child
pornography; terrorism and anarchy; corporate and sovereign espionage; and financial crimes. Police
agencies have been fighting an uphill battle always one step behind an ever evolving digital landscape
and the criminals who exploit it. The novelty of the Internet begets jurisdictional and legal issues law
enforcement must address while remaining ethical and holding to the code of law. Due to the
anonymous nature of deep web criminal activity and the means for uncovering perpetrators, privacy
concerns of citizens legally using the same software or websites are now a hot topic.
The Internet is vast. To the casual user, the Internet represents the collection of those websites
accessible via search engines such as Google or Bing. Search engines function by utilization of a web
crawler which locates and indexes linked pages that are then provided as search results when it meets
a particular search s criteria. But, those web crawlers are only able to identify static pages, leaving out
the dynamic pages of the deep web. Imagine a commercial fishing trawler on the open ocean pulling
in its catch. The trawler only gathers fish from just barely below the surface and misses the massive

Hamlet Vs Hamlet
As society evolves, entertainment evolves to maximize connections with the current audience. One
play which has withstood the test of time is William Shakespeare s Hamlet, and a modern
interpretation can be seen in Kenneth Branagh s film adaptation of the play. One scene that
emphasizes the modernization of the play is Hamlet Jr. s to be or not to be soliloquy, found in act III,
scene 1, lines 57 91, where Hamlet Jr. contemplates suicide and considers the implications of death.
Though the original Elizabethan version of the play considers social, cultural, and economic aspects to
appeal to the audience of the time, adjustments are made for the modern version to maintain its appeal
to a modern audience. To create the most compelling plays, Shakespeare incorporates elements that
the Elizabethan audience would relate to or connect to. Shakespeare employs elements of Elizabethan
life and cultural references to cater towards every socioeconomic class. By using costumes that
correspond to the respective Elizabethan social classes of the characters, Shakespeare creates stronger
connections with his audience. In the Elizabethan era, there were laws concerning which clothes
people were allowed to wear based on their rank ( Elizabethan Costume ). However, actors were
permitted to wear the clothes designated for nobility, which adds authenticity to Hamlet while making
it more compelling, as seeing commoners in upper class clothing was an uncommon sight (
Elizabethan Costume ).

Female Mathematicians Essay
Throughout history, women have been looked down upon and seen as insubordinate and incapable.
Women were never viewed as equal to men until about the 1950s. History will also tell us that men
dominated the mathematical scene and have made the biggest contributions in that field, yet this does
not seem to be the case. Women have had just as big an impact on math as men have, if not a bigger
contribution. They still continue to rock the mathematical world today. Various women such as Hypatia
from the ancient Greeks, Grace Chisholm Young from England at the turn of the century, to Mary
Fairfax Somerville from the Imperialist English, and Maria Gaetana Agnesi from Modern
Enlightenment in Italy have all contributed in major ways to the ... Show more content on

Hypatia s most well known improvements to science and astronomy include her re inventing of the
hydrometer and charting of the stars. In mathematics, she is most notable for her contributions to
working on different conic sections.Simply by dividing cones in different ways on a plane, she was
able to develop the idea of different graphs and shapes such as parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas. Her
understanding of the conic sections lead her to be one of the key contributors to the invention of the
astrolabe as well (Morrow 1998). Christianity became extremely popular in Alexandria during the
time when Hypatia lived there along with many riots breaking out. She was a pagan and known for
defending science against any form of religion. She was mercilessly killed by an angry mob who
accused her of religious turmoil. Although she died a horrible death of being stripped of her skin and
limbs, her legacy lived and still lives. Mathematics was thriving in Athens, so that is where her
students eagerly fled to. Although, many of her works that were stored in the library of Alexandria
were destroyed by an Arab invasion. Hypatia is an important symbol for many generations and will
always be considered to be the first woman in mathematics. The next woman to be discussed is Grace
Chisholm Young. She was a mathematician from England and received her education at Girton
College in Cambridge, England. She then continued her

Essay On Point Of Sales
Leveraging Points of Sale and Profit Making for Fundraising Success POS Point of sale is the term
commonly associated with the retail industry and involves the place of transaction between a buyer
and a seller. (Kelley, p. 108) There are three major revenue streams that can leverage POS for schools
and universities; ticket sales, concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any
organization profitable and increase revenue, one must leverage every point of sale, beginning with
ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase their customer database,
upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime customers, all which will help improve their
revenue and overall bottom line. We will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this
with and in coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential for increasing
revenue is through ticket sales. Depending on the team, the sport, and even the kind of season a team
is having (wins/losses), all of these can impact ticket revenue for schools and universities. Most
universities already have a solid foundation of repeat season ticket holders for certain events. These
would be considered longtime customers. These should be one of the first groups to solicit for
additional business because they have already shown long term interest in the school, team or sport.
They have continued to donate money, purchase their season tickets, and

Religion In Hamlet Research Paper
Interaction of Mythology, Religion, and the Supernatural Hamlet is considered the most popular and
one of the most performed plays written by William Shakespeare that follows many of the traditional
styles, thus evident in his writings. It describes the tragedy of Prince Hamlet, the protagonist, whose
father is murdered by his uncle, Claudius, who then marries his mother, Gertrude. This not only ends
up in the tragic loss of his father but also results in the prevention of his rise to the throne. On a dark
wintry night, the ghost of King Hamlet appears and reveals to Prince Hamlet that Claudius is his
murderer and encourages him to seek revenge on the man who killed him to take the crown and then
married his widow (Al Abdullah and Ramadan, 912). The leading conflict of this story is the
confrontation between old Hamlet and King Claudius as well as the tragic dilemma that young Hamlet
face. In telling the conflict of Hamlet, Shakespeare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religion s critical role as a motivating factor for the characters can be evidenced by the fact that it is
referred to in multiple instances in the play. When Horatio sees the Ghost, and says, Before my God, I
might not this believe/ Without the sensible and true avouch/Of my own eyes (A 1, S 1, L 67 69). This
promotes a notion that those who believe in God will not believe in ghosts. On another occasion,
Hamlet utters the most famous one from a soliloquy, To be, or not to be, that is the question (Act 3
Scene 1 line 65). Throughout the play, Hamlet remains depressed and harbors the thoughts of
committing suicide. However, it is the Catholic beliefs that prevent him from practicing it. This faith s
belief that suicide is a sin deters him from acting out his desire, which is a major component that
determines the story s progress. The story will have turned out differently if religion has not

Paul and the Dead Sea Scrolls Essay examples
The Essenes were a Jewish religious group that prospered from the 2nd century BCE to the 1st century
CE. They considered themselves to be a separate from others because of their inner life and their
knowledge of the hidden mysteries of nature, which were unknown to others. The Essenes thought
that they were the heirs of God and to their own civilization. They felt that they were sent out on a
mission and that they were true saints and masters of wisdom. They were open to all religions and
considered each to be a stepping stone of a single revelation. They believed that they were able to
communicate with angelic beings and thought that they had discovered the origin of Evil on Earth.

The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Pauline Corpus both show a cognizance of the sinfulness of people and
their inaptitude to be righteous in God s eyes independent from his grace. The Essenes describe
humanity apart from God s grace in the Qumran in 1QH, IX 21 23: These things I know through Your
understanding, for You have opened my ears to wonderful mysteries even though I am a vessel of clay
and kneaded with water, a foundation of shame and a spring of filth, a melting pot of iniquity and a
structure of sin, a spirit of error, perverted without understanding and terrified by righteous judgments.
(Irons)
Paul describes that it is in fact God s grace that makes us righteous in Titus 2:11 14: For the grace of
God has appeared, saving all and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and live
temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age, as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory
of the great God and of our savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to deliver us from all
lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people as his own, eager to do what is good (The New
American Bible).
Both the Dead Sea Scrolls and Paul are stating that humans do in fact sin, but it is the grace of God
that gives us the chance to become righteous. Another similarity between the Dead Sea Scrolls and
Paul is predestination; both the Dead Sea Scrolls and Paul give a sense of

The Benefits Of STEM Classes
So how can we help students to be more prepared for college? One way is to help encourage students
to pursue STEM careers. Doesn t AP classes already do that for students already? One study done by
Joseph Rosenstein shows that we are actually making too big of a rush for students to take AP classes.
They studied this with one AP class, Calculus. They claim that students, for the most part, are not
using the AP class to assist them in college. So one method to help students prepare for college is to
actually decelerate the amount of AP classes they re taking. Their study showed that 40% of students
that qualify for college credit (6.25% of all students that take the AP Calculus course), are not actually
using that credit for college. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, 89 percent said educational trips had a positive, lasting impact on their education and career
because the trips made them more engaged, intellectually curious and interested in and out of school
(NEA). So to help our students be more interested in what they want to do in school and for students
pursuing the STEM field would be more interested as well. I believe that conducting more field trips
would assist students to becoming more successful. Because with the previous study of AP courses,
they don t fulfill the jobs in the STEM field, so doing this by making students much more aware and
involved in the STEM field would encourage them more to pursue that field. Even if the school can t
afford to go on field trips all the time, they can still have real scientist, mathematicians, and also
engineers come in to share their work with the class. Which I believe will take less money, time, and
effort to plan and execute. How will this help the STEM field? I believe doing more field trips and
also having more guest speakers come in will want more students to pursue the STEM field. The
STEM field as a whole is growing rapidly, and we will need more students and more people to fulfill
those positions. So how will this help the students when they go to college? How will these activities
help the students more than what a rigorous, AP course can do? As I have said before, the main
problem comes from the students lack of understanding of how the field

Social Citizenship vs. Civil Citizenship
Social Citizenship vs. Civil Citizenship Civil citizenship and social citizenship are two aspects of the
same theory i.e. social welfare. They appear to be the forces which if managed well, will keep the
society in balance ensuring the rights of every citizen are respected and provided by the state and other
institutions. However, today s American society is more prone to viewing civil citizenship as more
reputable attribute guaranteeing prestige and status in society whereas social citizenship is perceived
as stigmatic and abhorrent. Although American society bears all the elements required for social
citizenship in its foundation however the dominance provided to civil citizenship has changed the
outlook of American society in past few centuries. Since civil citizenship ensures that the state and the
citizen are involved in equilateral contract, therefore it is considered to guarantee esteem whereas
social citizenship is synonymous to unilateral contract where the state is offering necessary services
without receiving anything in return; this ideology demeans the stature of social citizenship. Fraser
and Gordon (1992) claim that the U.S. has no social citizenship. They also argue that the concept of
social citizenship includes ideas from three political traditions liberal themes of rights and equal
respect, communitarian norms of solidarity and shared responsibility, and republican ideals of
participation in public life (p.46). A careful view of American society

Icebreakers
Icebreakers and Introductions
The first day of a course is essential to the success of the course. It is important to start the course on a
positive note by making sure all of the participants feel comfortable and get to know each other as
soon as possible. The activities the trainer or facilitator uses at the beginning of a course to help the
participants get to know each other are known as icebreakers or introductions. Here are a number of
icebreakers and introductions you can use.
Unique Characteristics Even if the participants already know each other, the clinical trainer must get

Copyright In Australia
Current copyright protection is entitled to provide the essential mechanism for the insurance of the
success viability of creative industries by rewarding and incentivising the creators of original works
relating to films, music and broadcasts. The Copyright Act 1968 is initially designed to protect
although, despite this, the advancement of technology has led to abuse of the Act, subsequently to
withhold its dexterity, the Act has required modification, through; case and statute law. While
acknowledging this, it must be understood that the codes; Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), Copyright
Regulations 1969 (Cth), Copyright Tribunal Procedure Regulations 1969 (Cth) and the Copyright
International Protection Regulations 1969 (Cth) are applied automatically once the work has been
published in an accessible format; provided that the author/s are current citizens or residents of
Australia. Throughout this report, the Copyright Act 1968 will be analysed in depth to provide a
detailed understanding of whether it is possible for the law to be proactive with regards to future
technologies. In a developing world of rapid changes and advancements in technology and human

The Evolution Of Film Noir
The film noir genre first appeared in the early 1940s and has grown since their first appearance on
screen. While there are various definitions and aspects that can define this genre, it is usual depicted as
having an anti hero set in a realistic setting while trying to fight inner demons and the outer world
surrounding problems simultaneously. As any genre, it has noticeable tropes that can place it within
this spectrum. Over the years, since the first decade of film noir, society has changed, causing the
genre to adapt. The changes are not limited to being on film, but also to those within other forms of
media, such as television and literature. Rather than focusing upon one area, it is better to look on it as
a whole. Headhunters is a more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Choosing The Correct Replacement For An Aged Roof
Choosing the correct replacement for an aged roof or identifying the best choice for a new building is
no easy task. The perfect roofing solution for one building may be the worst option for another just
down the street. That s because no two buildings are precisely alike, even if they closely resemble
each other. So how do you choose a new roof, given all the choices in the marketplace? You can start
by asking a series of questions, before you choose the roof, the roofing contractor or the manufacturer.
1. What is this building s mission statement?
Before calls are made to roofing contractors or manufacturers, the first item to address is the company
s mission statement as it relates to the building.
Whether you are building new facilities or managing existing properties, you want to be confident that
the roofing systems you select deliver the performance you expect. More often than not, the building
itself dictates the appropriate roofing system specification.
You need to know as much about the building and its future as possible. Does the company plan to
keep this building as part of its real estate assets for the next 10 to 20 years? Are there any plans to
expand it in the near future, or to change its use? What are its current and future occupancy, insulation
requirements, aesthetic priorities and even the maintenance schedules for rooftop equipment?
These and other mission statement issues will help shape answers to types of roofing to consider and

When Louis was 18, he made the US track team to compete in the Germany Olympics. He placed 8th

Anne Bradstreet In Reference To Her Children Essay
In 1678, many of Anne Bradstreet s poems were published for public view. Throughout her poems
Bradstreet tends to use symbolism to express her innermost thoughts and feelings. One of these poems
is In Reference to Her Children, 23 June, 1659. Three of the most significant symbols in this poem are
the representation of her family as a flock of birds, the dangers in the world, and the expression of her
feelings toward her children.
Anne Bradstreet s representation of her family as a flock of birds symbolizes two different things.
First, it symbolizes her connection to God and her desire to please Him. She represents herself and her
family as birds because they were also creations of God; however, they are not human, therefore they
do not sin. The bird family also symbolizes freedom. As her young grow up and spread their wings,
they leave the nest to fly on their own. This represents one of the facts of life; children grow up and
leave their parents homes to find their own way to make it in the world. ... Show more content on

Four have already left home, one will leave soon and the other three still dwell in the house with her.
She then begins to express the dangers of the world around her in a bird s point of view. For example,
she is afraid that her young will fall in a fowler s snare, be caught in a net or by birdlime on twigs, or
hurt by a hawk. In a human world a fowler s snare might be fallings into the hands of trickery,
robbery, or any other type of crime. Caught by net or birdlime might represent being in the wrong
place at the wrong time, and a hawk inflicted injury might symbolize being wounded or killed by an
Indian or criminal. She fears for the lives of her children and worries that harm will come to them.
This also represents an aspect of the parent child relationship. No matter how old children get, their
parents still worry about the things they do and the choices they

The Used Car
In this negotiation, I played the role of the buyer of the car, Mazda MX – 6 from Francesco, who

When I was planning for the negotiation the most important criteria was that the car must certainly
have all those specifications which the 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport was offering. That is, an air
conditioning, AM/FM stereo, 6 cylinder engine and the mileage should be the same or more than the
Jeep. Also, I had firmly decided to buy the Mazda under all circumstances and not go in for the jeep,

your first offer is extremely inflated, the other person thinks on the higher side and may close the deal

will try to manipulate you in such a way that he may tend to close the deal at even a lower price that

The Labor Theory Of Value
The labor theory of value is an economic theory first proposed by Adam Smith that states that the
value of a good or service is determined by the labor it takes to create the product under normal
circumstances. Furthermore, supply and demand do not affect value, only price. An economist and
philosopher named Karl Marx believes this theory proves that capitalism is inherently exploitative of
the working class. Every person has labor power, or the ability to work. However, labor power is
fueled by external resources (such as food, water, clothing, and transportation to the workplace) which
all have value as well, so when an individual s work is more valuable than that sustenance, surplus
value generates. Surplus value will benefit the business rather than the laborer, therefore Marx
believed capitalism is inherently exploitative. Additionally, he thought that capitalistic society is made
up of classes that are bound to struggle consequentially, that this would lead a state to naturally shift
into communism. Nonetheless, this theory is not commonly accepted; marginalism is the belief that
not only the labor used in manufacturing affects its value, but the marginal utility the overall
satisfaction from the good or service. There is a multitude of other opposing theories and criticisms of
Marx s beliefs.
There are many different systems of economics, but if Marx s logic were consistent, each of them
would be exploitative. Capitalism, the least because the working class has

Essay about The Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood
In The Handmaid s Tale, much use is made of imagery; to enable the reader to create a more detailed
mental picture of the novel s action and also to intensify the emotive language used. In particular,
Atwood uses many images involving flowers and plants. The main symbolic image that the flowers
provide is that of life; in the first chapter of the novel Offred says ...flowers: these are not to be
dismissed. I am alive. Many of the flowers Offred encounters are in or around the house where she
lives; it can be suggested that this array of floral life is a substitute for the lack of human life, birth and
social interaction. The entire idea of anything growing can be seen as a substitute for a child growing.

A Study On Management Practices
MANAGEMENT PRACTICES Last Name/ First Name: Institution Affiliation: Introduction The
changes in the world today are very much tremendous as far as complexity in the way people do
conduct their everyday business is concerned. With the ever growing population that has been brought
by the advancement in technology, businesses are always under pressure to satisfy the consumer s
demand (Medina, 2014). Therefore, each and every day that passes there is always a necessity for
companies and organizations to work on improving their production and services offered to their
esteemed customers. With the fast depletion of resources, companies have had to look for various
ways that they can use to stay relevant in the business world that is changing every day. Several
businesses have invested in technologies due the efficiency regarding the services and products they
offer. Therefore, the companies have now been able to meet the needs of their customers fast and
satisfy them. Thus, the worry of customers meeting their requirements late even though they requested
for it late as a result of the rising population is reduced. Besides technology, several other things also
make a business to stand tall among its competitors. One such business that has incorporated these
other factors besides technology is the Dunkin Donuts store in the Midwest where I am the manager.

Voter Turnout In America
The nature of voter turnout is a broad concept in modern American politics and can be broken into
many topics: how voter turnout varies by state, by election, by demographics, and whether or not voter
turnout actually matters. Despite public opinion that voter participation is declining and that such
participation matters, voter turnout is about the same as it was in the 1960s and has not undergone
serious changes, and turnout only actually matters in competitive or local elections, rarely national
elections. The first determinant of variation in voter turnout is election differences between states;
specifically, voting accessibility, early voting, how competitive the race is, and gerrymandering of

Restorative Justice And Justice System
Restorative justice has some key restorative values that are vital in the restorative justice conference to
make the experience restorative . Concerning addressing victim needs and concerns means for
listening, respecting, being non judgmental, not blaming the victim and apologizing. The RJ system
was bought as an alternative to the criminal justice system to give greater emphasis on victim rights
and needs, offender accountability and community involvement. Throughout the essay, there will be
an insight into how Restorative Justice addresses needs of victims in terms of the different proponents
such as Information provided to victim, restitution/compensation, emotional and practical needs met,
participation and involvement of victim and protection of victim, which (Wemmers and Marisa, 2002)
as essentials to victims participating in the practice. The two countries that will be addressed will have
had restorative justice built out of injustices and over representation of the current criminal justice
system to the indigenous peoples of those countries.
The traditional criminal justice system is criticized for its neglect of victim importance and needs, for
example (Symonds, 1980) acknowledges, that the criminal justice system is concerned about looking
back at the event rather than focusing on how to rehabilitate and as a consequence making victims be
in a secondary victimization effect. This is the attitudes, behaviors and the beliefs of the people in the

Importance Of Cultural Diversity In Nursing
This paper will be discussing the importance of understanding Cultural diversity in nursing. It will be
focusing on understanding the knowledge of cultural diversity and why it s important. I will also
discuss the different attitude that nurses are expose to from different culture. As reference I will be
using the Journal continuing Education in Nursing ; (L. Price, July 1994). According to L. Price
cultural diversity challenges health care providers to facilitate bridging cross cultural gaps with
clients. He believes that it is through culturally relevant care that nurses can serve the needs of all
clients in our diverse society. Mr. Price also stated that nurses can use the following steps to have a
better connection with patients that have a different background from them. The four steps include the
following; (1) health care providers should assess their own cultural beliefs and be aware of general
ethnic, regional, and religious beliefs and practices in their area; (2) develop a teaching plan; (3)
implement the plan. Those are the three topics that I will be discussing in the following pages.
As a uncertificated nurse I strongly believe that it is very crucial for me and my peers to understand
culture and its function in human behavior and society. Specially in Florida where it s a melting pot,
you get in contact with individuals from different national background and ethnicities on a daily base.

Oppression Of Women
The oppression of women has been happening since the beginning of time and religion is one huge
factor that often hides in the dark. Christianity is the world s largest religion and its oppression of
women will be brought to light. Christians use their beliefs and stance to oppress women socially,
physically and mentally.
Christianity, is the belief in Christ as the one and only God and his teachings transmitted through the
holy bible. Christians often fall into two categories, Conservatives and Liberals. Conservatives are
more likely to follow their religion more strictly and to be devoted to scripture. They often believe
everything in the bible undoubtedly and for this reason, are more likely to oppress women, using
scripture as an ok for this behavior. Liberals, on the other hand, are more open minded and mainly
focus on the teaching of God s unconditional love for all. Liberals are more likely to be egalitarian
while Conservatives are more likely to have prejudice towards people who have different beliefs or
way of life.
Christianity oppresses women in one huge way which is by emphasizing the belief that women are
created for men and are meant to serve their husband. One verse that demonstrates this is, He
[Solomon] had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led
him astray. 1 Kings 11:3 (Tarico, 2012) This verse shows that women were seen as objects and
married against their will so that their husband would have a better

Infertility Essay
Infertility is the inability for a couple that is sexually active to become pregnant after twelve months of
trying to conceive. This is a complex medical issue. A common mistake made about infertility is that it
can occur in not only women but men as well and it is much more common amongst both men and
woman. The causes of infertility can be range from environment or physical factors. Risk factors
associated with infertility for both sexes include age, tobacco use, alcohol use, weight, and physical
activity (Peterson 170). Once a man or woman is diagnosed, they can then begin treatment. In some
cases, infertility can be corrected by hormone therapy or surgery. If these options do not succeed,

In polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the ovaries may not release an egg regularly or they may not
release a healthy egg. These women usually have irregular periods or no periods at all. In women,
reproductive history, demographics, and lifestyle habits also have been associated with reduced
fertility (Infertility). The causes of infertility in men and women vary widely, and medical imaging
typically plays a role in their diagnosis and treatment. Infertility can be treated with medicine, surgery,
or assisted reproductive technology (Infertility). Medicines can include fertility drugs for example
clomiphene or follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone injections. Another options
would be surgery to help women with fibroids, scarring, or even endometriosis. Lastly, assisted
reproductive technology can consists of in vitro fertilization or looking into a surrogate. When a
couple is experiencing infertility, a gynecologist generally evaluates the woman, as well as a semen
analysis is ordered for the male. Male infertility would be then suspected if the results from the semen
analysis were abnormal. The initial workup usually consists of medical history and physical
examination, as well as endocrine system and genetic evaluation in some cases (Peterson 177).
Infertility takes a toll of some people s lives and most of the time it is overlooked or not noticed fully.

Kingdom Of Heaven Comparison
Compare and Contrast: The Fall of Jerusalem and Kingdom of Heaven The fall of Jerusalem was
depicted in the movie, Kingdom of Heaven. When director Ridley Scott released this Crusade film in
2005, the film provoked widespread controversy from historians and disdain from film critics. People
were either offended by the misrepresentation of the historical facts or of the movie s view of
Christians. Nonetheless, there were people who praised the movie and thought it was spectacular.
There are plenty of similarities between the movie and the actual event, however, the movie also has
many differences and some of the information was even changed to fit the movie credentials. This

The first similarity was the depiction of Reynald de Chatillon. His image is the most historically
accurate character of the movie. According to Ibn al Athir, Prince Reynald was one of the greatest and
wickedest of the Franks, the most hostile to the Muslims and the most dangerous to them. As the
movie shows, Reynald had a running rivalry with Saladin, raiding him and even apprehending his
sister in a raid that provoked Saladin s invasion of Jerusalem. Even Christian historians agreed that
Reynald was an evil figure. Another similarity involved the moral character of Balian in the movie and
the actual Balian. In historical accounts, Balian is seen as the Christian who retains his wisdom and
composure leading up to, and even after, the disaster of Hattin. The movie uses him as a template for
an ideal knight, showing his journey to Jerusalem to seek forgiveness for him and his dead wife as an
example of the pure motives of the Crusades. Balian characterizes the medieval ideas of knighthood
and was a revered knight whose standing was equal to that of a king. The Patriarch of Jerusalem
begged him to defend the city against Saladin s impending attack and he was the last defender of
Jerusalem, just like in the movie. According to the online article, Medieval as Modern, Balian s speech
to Saladin at the defense of Jerusalem in the movie Before I lose it, I will burn it to the ground. Your

How Does Jesus Meet The Samaritan Woman
Jesus Meets the Samaritan Woman
God values every person, and He wants all of mankind to know Him personally. God is love, and all
people are worthy of His love. In John 4, Jesus encounter with a Samaritan woman demonstrates that a
believer s testimony is a powerful tool in leading others to Christ. The Samaritans lived in an area
located between Judea and Galilee. Animosity between the Jews and the Samaritans existed for more
than 400 hundred years. Samaritans had Gentile and Jewish blood. The Jews believed that the

His encounter with an insignificant Samaritan woman at a Well transforms lives and sparks a village
wide revival. The woman at the Well became a pure vessel and allowed God s living water to flow
through her to others. It does not matter that the woman is a Samaritan. Gender and nationality are not
important. The discussion between Jesus and the Samaritan woman is the longest recorded
conversation between Jesus and another person. No one is shunned in God s community. By ignoring
cultural traditions and choosing to travel through Samaria, Jesus demonstrates that his mission is to
save the entire world, not just the Jews (Freeman). God wants everyone to receive new life in Jesus
Christ and never thirst again. God s living water is available to everyone, and it is off limits to no one.

experience with others. Every Christian should be bold and confident enough to share the Word of

How Did Myrtle Wilson Fail In The Great Gatsby
The failure of the American Dream
The novel, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is about the American Dream. The American
Dream is the ideal that every U.S. citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success through
hard work. The failure of the American Dream is represented by Myrtle Wilson, Daisy Buchanan, and

Myrtle Wilson s dream is to have an opulent, happy life. One reason why her American Dream fails is
because of Daisy Buchanan. In The Great Gatsby, it says, [...] until I realized that her eyes, wide with

Political Style Of George Orwell
George Orwell is well known for his writing focusing on political events throughout Europe. His most
popular novels sent warnings about totalitarianism to its readers, leaving that as his mark in literature.
However, a closer look at his writing shows his changing political views based on both the political
movements at the time and Orwell s experiences with those political movements. Eric Arthur Blair,
better known under the pseudonym George Orwell, based his writing on the political climate during
his time. Living from 1903 to 1950, Orwell found himself writing about the ever changing, politically
charged environment around him. As Orwell wrote, background information must be included because
one cannot assess a writer s motives without knowing something of his early development. His father,
who Orwell was not close to, was a minor British official in the Indian Civil Service, which would
later influence his opinion on British imperialism in Burma. His family was lower middle class, even
though they had high social status. They returned to England, where Orwell went to school at Eton on
a scholarship (Baker vii). He was unhappy during his time at school since his family made much less
money than the other boys there. After Eton, he returned to Burma as a member of the Imperial
constabulary. He discovered that he was hated by the Burmese since he was a symbol of British
imperialism, which made him hate the work itself (viii).
His experiences lead to his writing, Burmese Days, and his return to England to live amongst the
beggars in the East End of London. His experiences both there and in the slums of Paris lead to Down
and Out in Paris and London and The Road to Wigan Pier. The latter ended with harsh criticisms of
the socialist movements of the time. His time in the Spanish Civil War, which included nearly losing
his life at the hands of communists who wanted to suppress their political opponents, was detailed in
Homage to Catalonia and left him with a lifelong dread of communism. This experience could have
been why his next writing, Coming Up for Air, showed a more conservative side (Baker vii).
Nevertheless, his journalistic writing just a few years later combined patriotic sentiment with the

My Dream Short Story
Last night I had the craziest dream. I went to fell asleep while watching The Gift . It was around
midnight when I fell asleep and that is when my weird dream occurred. I arrived at the carnival early

finally our turn. We had both stepped onto the ferris wheel with caution. I had a bad fear of heights
and so did my sister. Clara set down her purple teddy bear next to her that she had just won in the ring

snapped a picture of Clara and I at the very top of the ferris wheel. The picture came out of the camera
and I shook it to get it to dry faster. It actually came out pretty good. I slid the picture inside the pocket
on the teddybears t shirt. The t shirt was a pretty baby pink shirt with tiny white polka dots. Suddenly

seem to be having some technical difficulties, the ride will resume shortly. That is when I shot up out
of bed heavily breathing and sweating. That was a weird dream I said to myself. I got out of bed and
started getting ready for the day. My phone began to ring. It was my sister. I picked up my phone and I
answered. Hello? . Clara had just invited me to the carnival that is in town for the weekend. I agreed to

facility are located in eastern Quebec. In addition, GWL has distribution facilities located across
eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. The U.S. location houses the administrative

In addition, GWL claims that its products are specifically designed to meet the demands of the harsh
winters experienced in Canada and in the northern United States. As a result, GWL s products tend to
be more expensive to manufacture than those produced by its competitors. GWL s roofs are
guaranteed against defects in materials for a period of 15 years by its warranty program.
GWL markets itself as a provider of roof management solutions. The cost of a roof over its useful life
of about 20 years can be quite substantial for ICI properties. Maintaining a high quality roof is
essential to the value of the property, as well as to the continuity of the operations housed by the
property. However, most maintenance managers employed to manage ICI properties by property
managers, manufacturers, and other organizations are generalists, and typically don t have extensive
knowledge of roofing problems and proper roofing maintenance procedures. GWL not only sells the
physical roof itself, but also offers its customers worry free roofing solutions.
In order to meet the growing demand for expertise in roof maintenance, in 1998, GWL began offering
its customers a Roof Management Program with respect to the roofs that it installs. According to this

Why Misunderstanding Occurs Will Help Improve Our...
People communicate for more meaning than only for the words spoken. Sometimes what we intended
to say is not what the other person undersrands. By understanding why misunderstanding occurs will
help to improve our communication skills in or prevent this from happening again (Managing and
managing people, 2011a). The three approaches by John Austin (1962) who established the concept of
using language as a speech act which help in identify the differences between what the speaker
intended to say, the literary meaning of the speaker as well as how what was said was received by the
speaker. (Managing and managing people, 2011b).
On the day of the incident the house was busy as can be expected of such a large family. Physical

According to McLaughlin et al, (2008), the distance in proximity between people affects people s
levels of comfort and can cause anxiety.
Fear and lack of trust are among the most typical barriers to effective communication. People can be
hesitant to communicate in particular their thoughts as well as their feelings for fear of being
criticised, getting negative reactions, or getting an angry response. if people lack trust they might be
hesitant to communicate, not just their feelings and thoughts, but any ideas they might have. For
example, the situation was hugely affected by the service user s current emotions which involved her
family members constantly shouting and criticising her. She appeared nervous and anxious especially
whenever one of her parents came into the kitchen. It was evident that she was not listening actively to
what was being said. To be able to listen actively the listener is required to be attentive (Jones, 2009;
Smith, 2010; Xue, 2009). The service user was distracted and was not as attentive as when it was just
the two of us in the room.
Interpersonal barriers, otherwise referred to as personality clashes occur when relationships between
individuals are weak and not hamonial . As a result of this the confidence and mutual trust in one
another is low, therefore leading to emotional barriers set out above (Managing and managing people,
2011c).In the intervention this occurred between me (the professional)

Examples Of Informative Speech On Antis
Tonight, I went to the dinner that the Antis (people who are against women voting) were having. I
wore a white dress with a purple sash. The Antis must ve had a lot of money because there were at
least dozen of them at the table. They didn t even realize I was there. The Antis were talking about
how they wouldn t lose the vote in the House. They also talked about a foreign Jew . The way they
said Jew made my skin crawl. They talked about him disappearing. One of the Antis mentioned
murder, but another one said they weren t talking about that. They just wanted him to disappear for a
week or so. They wanted us to be as nervous as when we lost Seth Walker. Miss Pearson (one of the
Antis) said that this Jew couldn t be bought and he only ran for legislature so he could vote on the
Susan B. Anthony amendment. They said he could be bought if he woke up with a big bump on his
head and he was locked in the hold of a tramp steamer headed south out of New Orleans. I wonder
who they are planning to kidnap. I know it s going to be a Suff (people for women s voting) legislator.
The plan didn t seem solid. The Anti who said this seemed like a man who just says things to shock
people. But whoever they d been talking about needed to know they were in danger. ... Show more

I immediately left the dinner so I could tell my sister Chloe. I crawled out from under the table and
rushed out through the lobby. Chloe was trying to convince a man named Harry T. Burn (a legislator
from McMinn County) to vote for women s suffrage. They didn t think he was going to vote for them.
Chloe had taken him to the burlesque and then supper. I think they are done now. I ran to the Tulane
hotel. I saw Chloe s car out front. Miss Lewis (a Suff) had told me they were dancing in the hotel two
blocks away up on the tenth floor. It was too hot for all this running, especially in the shoes I was
wearing that had slippery soles, and narrow straps that cut into your

Chiron Research Paper
Introduction
You refer to my home planet as Chiron, a fairly large planet located in the Boötes constellation. My
home planet has been invaded, stripped of anything valuable. My species is almost extinct. 10 of us
and our Trainers escaped to Earth. We weren t forced to leave Chiron because of corruption, or
overpopulation. We left because of our the neighboring planet named Tartarus. I can t quite remember
how life was before The Cleansing mostly because I was merely a two year old toddler, but one thing
that I do remember, was that Chiron was beautiful, very large forests, beautiful wildlife, and at least
twice the size of this puny planet, Earth . I miss home sometimes, though I have a hard time
remembering what it was like before The Cleansing. I do remember before the escape pods left orbit
my father told me, Carry on our legacy son, whenever you re scared, think of me, your brothers, and
your mother. We will be with you forever. Be brave. and still to this day I do that. He kissed my
forehead, then we took off for our next destination, Earth, a year in travel. ... Show more content on

Invisibility, Flame, Self Resurrection, Time Resurrection, Bubble, Telekinesis, Heartbeat, Shapeshift,
Mimic, Speed, Timed, Flight, Spark and Last Light. Though there are 20 Gods. My father was able to
harness all of these powers, though he was also defeated, by himself, using last light to slay more than
1,000 Tartarians. Cameron says that I may be able to harness all of the powers that my father and the

San Pedro Pellado Volcanic Complex by Davidson, Ferguson,...
Subsequent research focusing more solely on the San Pedro Pellado Volcanic Complex by Davidson,
Ferguson, Colucci, and Dungan (1988) provides evidence that some degree of crustal assimilation has
had an impact on the evolution of magmas in the volcanic complex. The evidence for this is the high
δ^18O observed in fresh non glassy rock units. Taylor and Sheppard (1986) argue that the differences
in characteristics among rock units of the complex cannot be explained by the closed system
fractionalization of an unaltered mantle melt. The concentrations of the oxygen isotopes suggest that
the magmas that formed these igneous rocks have undergone some contamination with a crustal
component containing a higher concentration of 18O (Davidson et al., 1988). The occasional presence
of granitic xenoliths in the lavas and tuffs, such as the Pellado unit, are also indicative of some level of
crustal contamination. These xenoliths are enriched in large ion lithophiles and have similar
concentrations of REE as the underlying basement material and are therefore believed to be pieces of
the underlying basement of the volcanic complex (Davidson et al., 1988). For the granites to be
included into the melts as they rise through the crustal material indicates there is some degree of
interaction between melts and crustal material. In addition to alteration by crustal contamination, the
magmas of the San Pedro Pellado Complex were also likely subject to alteration by magma mixing

  • 2. Law Enforcement Combating Deep Web Criminal Activity Essay Security and privacy concerns present challenges for law enforcement combating deep web criminal activity. Crimes committed on or with the Internet are relatively new. Those crimes include illicit trade in drugs, weapons, wildlife, stolen goods, or people; illegal gambling; sex trafficking; child pornography; terrorism and anarchy; corporate and sovereign espionage; and financial crimes. Police agencies have been fighting an uphill battle always one step behind an ever evolving digital landscape and the criminals who exploit it. The novelty of the Internet begets jurisdictional and legal issues law enforcement must address while remaining ethical and holding to the code of law. Due to the anonymous nature of deep web criminal activity and the means for uncovering perpetrators, privacy concerns of citizens legally using the same software or websites are now a hot topic. The Internet is vast. To the casual user, the Internet represents the collection of those websites accessible via search engines such as Google or Bing. Search engines function by utilization of a web crawler which locates and indexes linked pages that are then provided as search results when it meets a particular search s criteria. But, those web crawlers are only able to identify static pages, leaving out the dynamic pages of the deep web. Imagine a commercial fishing trawler on the open ocean pulling in its catch. • 3. Hamlet Vs Hamlet As society evolves, entertainment evolves to maximize connections with the current audience. One play which has withstood the test of time is William Shakespeare s Hamlet, and a modern interpretation can be seen in Kenneth Branagh s film adaptation of the play. One scene that emphasizes the modernization of the play is Hamlet Jr. s to be or not to be soliloquy, found in act III, scene 1, lines 57 91, where Hamlet Jr. contemplates suicide and considers the implications of death. Though the original Elizabethan version of the play considers social, cultural, and economic aspects to appeal to the audience of the time, adjustments are made for the modern version to maintain its appeal to a modern audience. To create the most compelling plays, Shakespeare incorporates elements that the Elizabethan audience would relate to or connect to. Shakespeare employs elements of Elizabethan life and cultural references to cater towards every socioeconomic class. By using costumes that correspond to the respective Elizabethan social classes of the characters, Shakespeare creates stronger connections with his audience. In the Elizabethan era, there were laws concerning which clothes people were allowed to wear based on their rank ( Elizabethan Costume ). However, actors were permitted to wear the clothes designated for nobility, which adds authenticity to Hamlet while making it more compelling, as seeing commoners in upper class clothing was an uncommon sight ( Elizabethan Costume ). ... • 5. Essay On Point Of Sales Leveraging Points of Sale and Profit Making for Fundraising Success POS Point of sale is the term commonly associated with the retail industry and involves the place of transaction between a buyer and a seller. (Kelley, p. 108) There are three major revenue streams that can leverage POS for schools and universities; ticket sales, concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any organization profitable and increase revenue, one must leverage every point of sale, beginning with ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase their customer database, upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime customers, all which will help improve their revenue and overall bottom line. We will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this with and in coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential for increasing revenue is through ticket sales. Depending on the team, the sport, and even the kind of season a team is having (wins/losses), all of these can impact ticket revenue for schools and universities. Most universities already have a solid foundation of repeat season ticket holders for certain events. These would be considered longtime customers. These should be one of the first groups to solicit for additional business because they have already shown long term interest in the school, team or sport. • 6. Religion In Hamlet Research Paper Interaction of Mythology, Religion, and the Supernatural Hamlet is considered the most popular and one of the most performed plays written by William Shakespeare that follows many of the traditional styles, thus evident in his writings. It describes the tragedy of Prince Hamlet, the protagonist, whose father is murdered by his uncle, Claudius, who then marries his mother, Gertrude. This not only ends up in the tragic loss of his father but also results in the prevention of his rise to the throne. On a dark wintry night, the ghost of King Hamlet appears and reveals to Prince Hamlet that Claudius is his murderer and encourages him to seek revenge on the man who killed him to take the crown and then married his widow (Al Abdullah and Ramadan, 912). The leading conflict of this story is the confrontation between old Hamlet and King Claudius as well as the tragic dilemma that young Hamlet face. In telling the conflict of Hamlet, Shakespeare ... • 10. Social Citizenship vs. Civil Citizenship Social Citizenship vs. Civil Citizenship Civil citizenship and social citizenship are two aspects of the same theory i.e. social welfare. They appear to be the forces which if managed well, will keep the society in balance ensuring the rights of every citizen are respected and provided by the state and other institutions. However, today s American society is more prone to viewing civil citizenship as more reputable attribute guaranteeing prestige and status in society whereas social citizenship is perceived as stigmatic and abhorrent. Although American society bears all the elements required for social citizenship in its foundation however the dominance provided to civil citizenship has changed the outlook of American society in past few centuries. Since civil citizenship ensures that the state and the citizen are involved in equilateral contract, therefore it is considered to guarantee esteem whereas social citizenship is synonymous to unilateral contract where the state is offering necessary services without receiving anything in return; this ideology demeans the stature of social citizenship. Fraser and Gordon (1992) claim that the U.S. has no social citizenship. They also argue that the concept of social citizenship includes ideas from three political traditions liberal themes of rights and equal respect, communitarian norms of solidarity and shared responsibility, and republican ideals of participation in public life (p.46). Throughout her poems Bradstreet tends to use symbolism to express her innermost thoughts and feelings. One of these poems is In Reference to Her Children, 23 June, 1659. Three of the most significant symbols in this poem are the representation of her family as a flock of birds, the dangers in the world, and the expression of her feelings toward her children. Anne Bradstreet s representation of her family as a flock of birds symbolizes two different things. First, it symbolizes her connection to God and her desire to please Him. She represents herself and her family as birds because they were also creations of God; however, they are not human, therefore they do not sin. The bird family also symbolizes freedom. The Labor Theory Of Value The labor theory of value is an economic theory first proposed by Adam Smith that states that the value of a good or service is determined by the labor it takes to create the product under normal circumstances. Furthermore, supply and demand do not affect value, only price. An economist and philosopher named Karl Marx believes this theory proves that capitalism is inherently exploitative of the working class. Every person has labor power, or the ability to work. However, labor power is fueled by external resources (such as food, water, clothing, and transportation to the workplace) which all have value as well, so when an individual s work is more valuable than that sustenance, surplus value generates. Surplus value will benefit the business rather than the laborer, therefore Marx believed capitalism is inherently exploitative. Additionally, he thought that capitalistic society is made up of classes that are bound to struggle consequentially, that this would lead a state to naturally shift into communism. Nonetheless, this theory is not commonly accepted; marginalism is the belief that not only the labor used in manufacturing affects its value, but the marginal utility the overall satisfaction from the good or service. There is a multitude of other opposing theories and criticisms of Marx s beliefs. There are many different systems of economics, but if Marx s logic were consistent, each of them would be exploitative. Capitalism, the least because the working class has ... Concerning addressing victim needs and concerns means for listening, respecting, being non judgmental, not blaming the victim and apologizing. The RJ system was bought as an alternative to the criminal justice system to give greater emphasis on victim rights and needs, offender accountability and community involvement. It will be focusing on understanding the knowledge of cultural diversity and why it s important. I will also discuss the different attitude that nurses are expose to from different culture. As reference I will be using the Journal continuing Education in Nursing ; (L. Price, July 1994). According to L. Price cultural diversity challenges health care providers to facilitate bridging cross cultural gaps with clients. He believes that it is through culturally relevant care that nurses can serve the needs of all clients in our diverse society. Mr. Price also stated that nurses can use the following steps to have a better connection with patients that have a different background from them. The four steps include the following; (1) health care providers should assess their own cultural beliefs and be aware of general ethnic, regional, and religious beliefs and practices in their area; (2) develop a teaching plan; (3) implement the plan. Those are the three topics that I will be discussing in the following pages. As a uncertificated nurse I strongly believe that it is very crucial for me and my peers to understand culture and its function in human behavior and society. • 26. Oppression Of Women The oppression of women has been happening since the beginning of time and religion is one huge factor that often hides in the dark. Christianity is the world s largest religion and its oppression of women will be brought to light. Christians use their beliefs and stance to oppress women socially, physically and mentally. Christianity, is the belief in Christ as the one and only God and his teachings transmitted through the holy bible. Christians often fall into two categories, Conservatives and Liberals. Conservatives are more likely to follow their religion more strictly and to be devoted to scripture. They often believe everything in the bible undoubtedly and for this reason, are more likely to oppress women, using scripture as an ok for this behavior. Liberals, on the other hand, are more open minded and mainly focus on the teaching of God s unconditional love for all. Liberals are more likely to be egalitarian while Conservatives are more likely to have prejudice towards people who have different beliefs or way of life. Christianity oppresses women in one huge way which is by emphasizing the belief that women are created for men and are meant to serve their husband. One verse that demonstrates this is, He [Solomon] had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. 1 Kings 11:3 (Tarico, 2012) This verse shows that women were seen as objects and married against their will so that their husband would have a better ... His image is the most historically accurate character of the movie. According to Ibn al Athir, Prince Reynald was one of the greatest and wickedest of the Franks, the most hostile to the Muslims and the most dangerous to them. As the movie shows, Reynald had a running rivalry with Saladin, raiding him and even apprehending his sister in a raid that provoked Saladin s invasion of Jerusalem. Even Christian historians agreed that Reynald was an evil figure. Another similarity involved the moral character of Balian in the movie and the actual Balian. In historical accounts, Balian is seen as the Christian who retains his wisdom and composure leading up to, and even after, the disaster of Hattin. The movie uses him as a template for an ideal knight, showing his journey to Jerusalem to seek forgiveness for him and his dead wife as an example of the pure motives of the Crusades. • 38. Political Style Of George Orwell George Orwell is well known for his writing focusing on political events throughout Europe. His most popular novels sent warnings about totalitarianism to its readers, leaving that as his mark in literature. However, a closer look at his writing shows his changing political views based on both the political movements at the time and Orwell s experiences with those political movements. Eric Arthur Blair, better known under the pseudonym George Orwell, based his writing on the political climate during his time. Living from 1903 to 1950, Orwell found himself writing about the ever changing, politically charged environment around him. As Orwell wrote, background information must be included because one cannot assess a writer s motives without knowing something of his early development. His father, who Orwell was not close to, was a minor British official in the Indian Civil Service, which would later influence his opinion on British imperialism in Burma. His family was lower middle class, even though they had high social status. They returned to England, where Orwell went to school at Eton on a scholarship (Baker vii). He was unhappy during his time at school since his family made much less money than the other boys there. After Eton, he returned to Burma as a member of the Imperial constabulary. He discovered that he was hated by the Burmese since he was a symbol of British imperialism, which made him hate the work itself (viii). His experiences lead to his writing, Burmese Days, and his return to England to live amongst the beggars in the East End of London. His experiences both there and in the slums of Paris lead to Down and Out in Paris and London and The Road to Wigan Pier. The latter ended with harsh criticisms of the socialist movements of the time. His time in the Spanish Civil War, which included nearly losing his life at the hands of communists who wanted to suppress their political opponents, was detailed in Homage to Catalonia and left him with a lifelong dread of communism. This experience could have been why his next writing, Coming Up for Air, showed a more conservative side (Baker vii). Fear and lack of trust are among the most typical barriers to effective communication. People can be hesitant to communicate in particular their thoughts as well as their feelings for fear of being criticised, getting negative reactions, or getting an angry response. if people lack trust they might be hesitant to communicate, not just their feelings and thoughts, but any ideas they might have. For example, the situation was hugely affected by the service user s current emotions which involved her family members constantly shouting and criticising her. She appeared nervous and anxious especially whenever one of her parents came into the kitchen. It was evident that she was not listening actively to what was being said. To be able to listen actively the listener is required to be attentive (Jones, 2009; Smith, 2010; Xue, 2009). The service user was distracted and was not as attentive as when it was just the two of us in the room. As a result of this the confidence and mutual trust in one another is low, therefore leading to emotional barriers set out above (Managing and managing people, 2011c).In the intervention this occurred between me (the professional) ... • 44. Examples Of Informative Speech On Antis Tonight, I went to the dinner that the Antis (people who are against women voting) were having. I wore a white dress with a purple sash. The Antis must ve had a lot of money because there were at least dozen of them at the table. They didn t even realize I was there. The Antis were talking about how they wouldn t lose the vote in the House. They also talked about a foreign Jew . The way they said Jew made my skin crawl. They talked about him disappearing. One of the Antis mentioned murder, but another one said they weren t talking about that. They just wanted him to disappear for a week or so. They wanted us to be as nervous as when we lost Seth Walker. Miss Pearson (one of the Antis) said that this Jew couldn t be bought and he only ran for legislature so he could vote on the Susan B. Anthony amendment. They said he could be bought if he woke up with a big bump on his head and he was locked in the hold of a tramp steamer headed south out of New Orleans. I wonder who they are planning to kidnap. I know it s going to be a Suff (people for women s voting) legislator. The plan didn t seem solid. The Anti who said this seemed like a man who just says things to shock people. But whoever they d been talking about needed to know they were in danger. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I immediately left the dinner so I could tell my sister Chloe. I crawled out from under the table and rushed out through the lobby. Chloe was trying to convince a man named Harry T. Burn (a legislator from McMinn County) to vote for women s suffrage. They didn t think he was going to vote for them. Chloe had taken him to the burlesque and then supper. I think they are done now. I ran to the Tulane hotel. I saw Chloe s car out front. Miss Lewis (a Suff) had told me they were dancing in the hotel two blocks away up on the tenth floor. It was too hot for all this running, especially in the shoes I was wearing that had slippery soles, and narrow straps that cut into your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Chiron Research Paper Introduction You refer to my home planet as Chiron, a fairly large planet located in the Boötes constellation. My home planet has been invaded, stripped of anything valuable. My species is almost extinct. 10 of us and our Trainers escaped to Earth. We weren t forced to leave Chiron because of corruption, or overpopulation. We left because of our the neighboring planet named Tartarus. I can t quite remember how life was before The Cleansing mostly because I was merely a two year old toddler, but one thing that I do remember, was that Chiron was beautiful, very large forests, beautiful wildlife, and at least twice the size of this puny planet, Earth . I miss home sometimes, though I have a hard time remembering what it was like before The Cleansing. I do remember before the escape pods left orbit my father told me, Carry on our legacy son, whenever you re scared, think of me, your brothers, and your mother. We will be with you forever. Be brave. and still to this day I do that. He kissed my forehead, then we took off for our next destination, Earth, a year in travel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Senttrappe Aniemgus was the God of War, Battle, and the God of all of the Twenty Gods of the Galaxy. It was believed that every god had a power or ability, that they would bestow upon their champions. Currently there are 17 powers that we are able to access. Future and Past Sense, Strength, Invisibility, Flame, Self Resurrection, Time Resurrection, Bubble, Telekinesis, Heartbeat, Shapeshift, Mimic, Speed, Timed, Flight, Spark and Last Light. Though there are 20 Gods. My father was able to harness all of these powers, though he was also defeated, by himself, using last light to slay more than 1,000 Tartarians. Cameron says that I may be able to harness all of the powers that my father and the Gods had as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. San Pedro Pellado Volcanic Complex by Davidson, Ferguson,... Subsequent research focusing more solely on the San Pedro Pellado Volcanic Complex by Davidson, Ferguson, Colucci, and Dungan (1988) provides evidence that some degree of crustal assimilation has had an impact on the evolution of magmas in the volcanic complex. The evidence for this is the high δ^18O observed in fresh non glassy rock units. Taylor and Sheppard (1986) argue that the differences in characteristics among rock units of the complex cannot be explained by the closed system fractionalization of an unaltered mantle melt. The concentrations of the oxygen isotopes suggest that the magmas that formed these igneous rocks have undergone some contamination with a crustal component containing a higher concentration of 18O (Davidson et al., 1988). The occasional presence of granitic xenoliths in the lavas and tuffs, such as the Pellado unit, are also indicative of some level of crustal contamination. These xenoliths are enriched in large ion lithophiles and have similar concentrations of REE as the underlying basement material and are therefore believed to be pieces of the underlying basement of the volcanic complex (Davidson et al., 1988). For the granites to be included into the melts as they rise through the crustal material indicates there is some degree of interaction between melts and crustal material. In addition to alteration by crustal contamination, the magmas of the San Pedro Pellado Complex were also likely subject to alteration by magma mixing (Davidson et ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
