Proper aseptic technique among emergency room nurses and personnel has been found to have the lowest risk of infection transmission compared to other factors. Following proper aseptic technique can help assure patient safety and improve health outcomes. However, nurses need to strengthen assessment, admission, prioritization of care, and timely discharge/transfer in order to avoid delays in care. If weaknesses are not addressed, it could negatively impact patient care and satisfaction with the institution. Overall, the study found that strict aseptic technique is important for minimizing infection risk and should be maintained.

We believe that CDSS delivered using information systems, ideally with the electronic medical record as the platform, will finally provide decision makers with tools making it possible to achieve large gains in performance, narrow gaps between knowledge and practice, and improve safety.

The TMLT claims and risk management departments have seen an alarming increase in the number of claims filed related to Wernicke’s encephalopathy (WE) following bariatric surgery. Physicians who round on patients could be subjected to litigation if they do not order labs checking thiamine levels when a patient who has recently undergone bariatric or gastric surgery exhibits symptoms detailed in this risk alert. Specialties included in these claims are general surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and gastroenterology.

The Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation Module is designed to manage the data and workflow of pre-anesthesia evaluation, either at the pre-admission testing visit or at the surgeon’s office. Medical history is collected from patients via a self-administered Tablet questionnaire, and available data regarding that patient is also downloaded from the EHR. This data is used to determine what testing is needed prior to anesthesia. This system can be used in the surgeon’s office, to help avoid anesthesia complications and help prevent canceled or delayed cases. A set of screenshots and an overview of the module can be reviewed via this downloadable PowerPoint presentation.

Aseptic Technique
The media on which you culture desirable microorganisms will readily grow undesirable contaminants, especially molds and other types of fungus, and bacteria from your skin and hair. It is therefore essential that you protect your cultures from contamination from airborne spores and living microorganisms, surface contaminants that may be on your instruments, and from skin contact.
Bacteria and other contaminants cannot fly. Nearly all forms of contamination are carried on microscopic dust particles that make their way onto sterile surfaces when they are carelessly handled. One exception is insect contamination, such as by ants for fruit flies. Fruit flies are a particular nuisance because they can crawl under the lids of agar plates and lay eggs. You would think that people doing genetics research would have developed a model by now that can't fly into other peoples' experiments!
A contaminated culture can often be rescued, however there is always the risk that you will re-isolate the wrong microorganism. Besides, you don't have that kind of time to waste. Exercise extreme care to keep your cultures pure.

A prominent nursing center in the mid-size East South Central city in the South has come under the fire due to a major challenge of shortage in the nursing staff. An increase in the health care expenses led to a temporary reduction in the staff’s earning that led them to decrease in the number of nurses. Decreasing the nursing staff is the only logical way to combat the increased health costs, however, it partly kills the working enthusiasm of the staff.
But, the decreased staff is birthing more problems, as there is an array of patients that come to this center for care and cure and the decreased number of nurses cannot put up with all of them.

Abstract
Background and purpose: To assess impact of a pharmacist-led educational
intervention on family nurse practitioner (FNP) students’ prescribing skills, per-
ception of preparedness to prescribe, and perception of pharmacist as collabora-
tor.
Method: Prospective pre–post assessment of a 14-week educational interven-
tion in an FNP program in the spring semester of 2014. Students participated in
an online module of weekly patient cases and prescriptions emphasizing legal
requirements, prescription accuracy, and appropriate therapy. A pharmacist fa-
cilitator provided formative feedback on students’ submissions. Participants com-
pleted a matched assessment on prescription writing before and after the module,
and a retrospective postsurvey then presurvey to collect perceptions.
Conclusion: There was significant improvement in performance on error iden-
tification and demonstration of prescription.

There is a saying that states one can only learn through doing it, practically and physically. It is the explanation as to why it is very important to implement the skills acquired in theory into practice to ascertain one’s competence. This is even more crucial in the medical field as they have no choice but just to be perfect at what they are doing, the only secret is through practice. Practicums connect the two worlds of theory and classwork, thus breaking the monotony alongside connecting what was taught in class with what happens in the field. They are important as apart from sharpening the student’s skills, they also open a window of opportunity and build up connections that will come in handy for the student later on. They will feel the experience and the pressure that comes with it thus preparing themselves accordingly.
Statement of the Problem
Timing is essential in the nursing field and the Emergency Room is notorious for its long wait times. The goal of a clinical laboratory is to deliver medically useful results for patients on a timely basis. This goal can be hindered by the new paradigm of the modern laboratory – “do more with less" (Lopez, 2020). When implementing new care models for patients, the patient perspective is critical. The objective of this study was to describe and develop an understanding of the information needs of patients in the ED waiting room concerning ED wait time notification (Calder, 2021). As a patient arrives at the ER waiting area, it's critical to have lab results for the provider to evaluate. I can give you an example of a patient that waited in the waiting room for over 3 hours, no labs were completed because they were waiting for the patient to go back into a room. The patient was suffering from a heart attack and his troponins were elevated and no one knew until 3 hours later. If POC labs were done on all patients as soon as they arrived, mistakes like these can be avoided. Completed POC blood can cut the wait times in half and the laboratory also won't be backed up on resulting lab specimens.
PICOT Question
Question: Is there a significant decrease in Emergency Department patient length of stay (LOS) for those whose blood was analyzed using POC testing versus those whose blood was analyzed using laboratory testing?
· P-Population= emergency room patients
· I-Intervention or Exposure= POC testing of blood specimens
· C-Comparison= Laboratory blood specimens
· O-Outcome= Decrease patient stay in the emergency room
· T-Time = N/A
History of the Issue
The length of patient stay in the emergency department (ED) is an issue that not only increases the severity of illnesses but also reduces the quality of patient care. Serious health conditions including diabetes and hypertension can worsen while patients are ...

1. Strengths:
PROPER ASEPTIC TECHNIQUE
Based on the data gathered by the researchers proper aseptic technique
between nurses and other emergency room personnel has the lowest computed T
value compared to the other.
With proper aseptic technique, nurses from the emergency room of FEU-
NRMF can assure patients safety with regards in infection and it can also improved
patients good prognosis.
Weaknesses
The nurses working in the emergency room should improve their abilities in
terms of the following: Assessment, admission, laboratory, prioritization, medical
care and transfer/discharge.
With the said weaknesses it can affect the nurses intervention with the patient
like delayed assessment to the patient.
Opportunities
As the nurses strengths, it can assure patient fast recovery which let the
patient comeback to the hospital that can be good feedback for institution.
Threats
If nurses do not improve in their weaknesses that was above, it can affect
their work as well as the patient going to the institution.
If there is delay in assessment, laboratories, medical care, and other areas
patient may not come back and happening can serves as a negative feedback to the
institution.
SUMMARRY OF FINDINGS
Based on the mentioned data, we the researchers gathered the specific strengths
and weaknesses of this study that can help to maintain and enhance the compliance
of the nurses to standard operating procedures and prioritizing the care patient. In
this study, we conclude that the proper aseptic technique is the strength part
because it has the lowest computed T value meaning, if the computed T value is
less than tabular T value the Null hypothesis is accepted.
