 Storybird
-What is Storybird?
Storybird is a visual storytelling community. A global hub of readers, writers, and
artists of all ages.Create..Read..Share, Storybird is a collaborative story writing
website that embodies all three of these ideas.
Born as a way to inspire storytelling withchildren, Storybird allows you to easily
create and collaborate on powerful, professional looking stories, using artwork
providedby a growing and diversegroup of professional artists. It reverses visual
storytelling by starting with the image and "unlocking" the story inside. Explore
artists, get inspired, and write!
That simple idea has made it indispensable for millions of people.
-How to join storybird
 Go to www.storybird.com
 Click on Sign Up.
Note: if you are not registered, you can explore and read stories in Storybird
but you can’t create any one.
2
 To create a Storybird account:
- Select an account type:
Regular
Teacher/Class
Kid/under 13
1- Account type: regular
3
2- Account type: Teacher/class
4
3-Account Type: Kid/ under 13
 What is a kid's account?
Kid accounts are for members under the age of 13. By law, these members
need the approval of, and activation of, their account by a parent/guardian.
Kid accounts are the same as regular accounts with a few small differences:
1. They must be approved by a parent.
2. Email notifications are sent to an email address chosen by the parent.
3. Some artwork may be blocked based on age-appropriateness.
Kids who started on Storybird under the age of 13 but are now older than 13
can update their email addresses in their settings and take control of the
account
5
 Next you will need to go to your email address to confirm your account.
The email will contain a link, which will bring you back to Story bird
already logged in.
 After Registration you can upload your avatar picture:
 Note:The only difference between normal account and teacher account is the
classes that I can create at teacher account.
6
Registration to Storybird is for free, but You can Personalize Storybird with
Membership. (Get free downloads, customize your look, and more!)
7
 How Do I Create StoryMaking stories on Storybird is easy, fast, and
fun.
To start, visit "Create" and explore the images until you find an artist that you
like.
On the art page (the single-image pages where you can make comments) or the
artist home page (where you see all the artist's images), tap the "Use this art
for..." button and the artwork will load into the editor.
In the editor, drag and drop images from the work area onto the page and use
the white space to write your story.
Use the Menu in the bottom-left corner to "Save and Close" a story that's
unfinished. Select "Publish" when you're done.
Private stories can be shared via email or codes with friends and family.
Public stories are moderated by Storyspotters. Once approved, your story will
appear on your profile, search, and the feeds of your followers. You can email
and embed public stories and share them on social networks.
A note about making stories: you'll be happier and more creative if you work
with the artwork and try to unlock its stories rather than working against the
artwork and trying to ram it into a story you've already written.
8
To Create:
9
Start creating your story
1-Make cover to the story and choice the colors:
2- Choose arts, drag them into the pages and write your story, it’s so simple!
-Remove a page +Add a Page
< Previous page
. > Next Page
10
3-Use the Menu in the bottom-left corner to "Save and Close" a story
that's unfinished. Select "Publish" when you're done.
11
12
Storyspotters
All publicly-shared stories are moderated, during which time social sharing and
embeds are turned off and the stories don't appear in public search or profiles.
Once the story has been moderated and approved, the book will appear in your
profile, search, and the feeds of your followers.
However, your IRL (In Real Life) Connections can find your stories via search,
see them on your profile, read them in their feed and comment or hear them before
they're moderated. It's like a "sneak peek". Be sure to add IRL Connections in your
"Following" list.
13
To “Explore”
Click on any of the tags to see artwork associated with that keyword:
14
Note:When I explore arts for an artist, or read a story, I can comment
on/heart/repost at any time.
I can also share arts:
Or categorize this artwork:
15
In summary
Teachers rely on Storybird to get students from K-12 writing and
reading. Families adore it for our constant stream of stories.
Tweens and teens use it to connect with each other and express their
angst.
Storybird is one part educational platform, one part real-time publishing,
and one part social network. And it’s 100% nifty!
Good Bye!
I Love Storybird
