This document introduces a content platform called stickybits that allows users to scan barcodes and QR codes with their smartphones to access additional multimedia content about products and locations. It notes that as online marketing has evolved from cost per mille (CPM) to cost per click (CPC) to cost per engagement (CPE), stickybits enables "social scanning" and using physical objects as media to tell stories and build brands through analytics and promotional tools.
