The poison of propaganda By Steven Parks Kevin Schanze
Propaganda in use Most of Germany’s propaganda was used to convince the people that the Jews were the causes of all of their problems. Their problems included lack of food, money and the fact that they were losing the war. Most of this explains how there is still general racism towards the Jewish people.
How to hate a Jew The Nazi party used many ways to get the German people to hate Jews. One of the ways was the use of newspapers and of medical journals, saying that they were animals and that they were below every one else. Depicting and convincing the people that Jews were like animals made the German people feel superior.
Children of Hate Just before the Holocaust and during there was a book published called the Poisonous Mushroom, which taught children that Jews were as harmful as eating a poisonous mushroom. This made their minds perfect to be generally racist to the Jews and any one else that was against Hitler
Why propaganda works One of the reasons that propaganda works is because it attacks something that people are already afraid of. Then put a few lies, then add it all together and you have yourself a perfect scapegoat for world domination.
USA propaganda Propaganda was also used to convince the American people that WWII was a war worth fighting for, so they created propaganda to get people to fight in the war or to buy war bonds so that they could support the war effort
What is Propaganda? It is defined as the use of some type of communication to shift the beliefs or attitude of a certain community, and this is exactly what Hitler did. Propaganda is probably one of the worst inventions in the history of man kind. For years, those of higher powers used this to gain control of a certain group of people, or even a nation in Hitler’s case.
How Hitler used Propaganda Well it’s obvious, he used it to gain power and support within his own country. If you had an entire country to back you up, you’d be pretty powerful too. But with great power comes great responsibility, and Hitler was by no means a responsible man. Hitler confused Germans, leading them to believe that wiping out the Jewish race was doing the world a favor. He also used propaganda to keep quiet all the things that were really going on in the death camps. Of course you don’t show your nation the graphic views of what was happening, and some Germans didn’t even have a clue it was going. Little radios, costing between 35-75 marks (Which was very cheap) were distributed, so that everyone in Germany could hear Hitler give speeches about how powerful Germany is, and how bad the Jewish race is. This was another way Hitler used propaganda to win over German citizens.
Modern propaganda For today most propaganda is used by companies on commercials to sell things to make a profit or to buy a certain product. There isn’t that much hate propaganda that is out there today.
