From some 30 years experience gained across both SME’s and major technically focused multinationals I have developed 
a specialisation in helping organizations to improve the way they work. Growth, rightsizing, culture change, 
infrastructure, development of new products and services, standards compliance, employee engagement & motivation –

Establishment and management of Group Best Practices Forum within a major telecoms vendor. 
Appointed as Group Innovations champion. This led to improved employee engagement, increased 
internal efficiencies and documented process improvements. 
Created and deployed a tactical and strategic resource forecasting process and capability planning for a 
200+ Design and Implementation division. This gave senior management a consistent and formal 
means to establish future resource demand trends and hence determine appropriate resource 
dimensioning levels. 
Major contributor to achieving country operational alignment to Regional and Global Company policies 
and directives for a major UK organisation . This ensured alignment to CMMI (Capability Maturity 
Model Integration) principles and resulted in increased levels of autonomy for local operations. 
Within a UK mobile telecoms company established a Group KPI (Key Performance Indicator) and 
monthly performance monitoring process. This also mapped regional Balanced Scorecard objectives to 
performance objectives for individual staff. This enabled Group performance to be measured, 
analysed and improved.

Supported Line Management of a large department through development of employee performance 
evaluation process, reward and recognition scheme, competence profiling tool, employee information 
handbook, Problem Solving Toolbox and cheat sheet library. This led to improved support for staff and 
reduced their time spent searching for information and solutions. 
Instigated formal benchmarking of divisional performance against comparable internal and external 
business units. This led to identification and adoption of ‘Best in Breed’ practices. 
Driver for culture and process harmonisation for recently TUPE’d Managed Services organisation 
acquired from major UK mobile operator. This enabled the new managed services support unit to 
integrate with the parent company ways of working and hence achieve expected levels of alignment. 
Establishment of a formal internal certification process, including role as assessor for candidates. This 
enabled benchmarking of staff against defined competence profiles and job grading levels. Result was a 
more consistent and structured career path for staff. Run using 6Sigma DMAIC methodology. 
Company Sales support through the creation of Services Sales portfolio and local booster for add-on sales 
process. This raised the profile of the organisation through its increased sales contribution. 
Project Management of Remote Access Support roll-out to customers. Major contributor to, and Line 
Management within, new Consultancy focussed Business Unit. Line Management of Network Design 
group. 
Re-establishment of business from troubled accounts for a UK reseller. Three failed accounts 
subsequently brought back on line and generating orders. 
Established an internal Token Ring Subject Matter Expert forum for a Local Area Network 
implementation company. This led to a successful £0.5m+ bid for a customer infrastructure project. 
Took on management of a sales team within a small UK solution provider, doubling the team turnover 
within 6 months. 
Revived a flagging internal Barclays National Programmes Business Unit which subsequently generated 
£2.5m p.a. turnover. 
Established Project Management as a new revenue service within a client company. This subsequently 
generated £0.3k turnover in first 6 months of operation. 
Role as Product Manager for design and introduction of new Slimline Terminal handset range for Philips 
Key Systems. This subsequently became a new design for introduction across global markets.
