Water Quality Analysis &
Process Selection
Dairy processing wastewater mainly comes from washing water of various equipment, ground
washing water and wastewater for producing various dairy products. Dairy wastewater is a
medium-high concentration organic wastewater with good biodegradability and is suitable for
biochemical treatment. However, wastewater contains a large amount of SS, oil and other
substances, and contains high concentrations of nitrogen nutrients. Fully in the middle. The water
quality characteristics of dairy wastewater are as follows:
1. The concentration of organic matter in water is high and the pH value fluctuates greatly. The
COD concentration of dairy wastewater is generally between 2000mg/L and 6000mg/L. Due to the
imbalance of discharge time, the COD concentration and pH value of each period change greatly.
Considering the large fluctuation of water quality and quantity, it is advisable to set a regulating
tank with a longer residence time before the pretreatment in the specific design to adjust the
various types of wastewater discharged in different time periods.
2. The biodegradability of water is good. The BOD/COD ratio of dairy wastewater is generally
greater than 0.5, which is an organic wastewater that is highly biodegradable, and the wastewater
contains substantially no substances that are highly toxic to microorganisms, and is suitable for
biological treatment. The biodegradability of dairy wastewater is suitable for biological treatment.
However, in the process operation, if improper care is taken, there is a possibility of sludge
expansion. Therefore, in the process selection, attention should be paid to those organisms that
are not prone to sludge bulking. Processing processes such as SBR, AO, contact oxidation, etc.
3. The wastewater produced contains a large amount of SS and oily substances. Dairy wastewater

generally contains many fine particles, such as milk fat, lactose, milk protein, etc., and contains a
lot of oil. These oils degrade very slowly and adhere to a certain waste (such as waste in cheese
production and cheese), which not only affects the normal operation of the pump, but may also
cause sludge expansion of the aerobic system. Moreover, the oil accumulates on the surface of the
aerobic tank for a long time, affecting the flocculation and sedimentation performance of the
sludge and hindering the gas transmission. Therefore, in the treatment of dairy wastewater, it is
necessary to pay full attention to the importance of pretreatment and degreasing.
4. The content of organic nitrogen in wastewater is high. Although the content of NH3-N in dairy
wastewater is not high, it contains a large amount of organic nitrogen species, such as milk protein,
which undergo ammoniation under certain conditions, thereby increasing the concentration of
NH3-N in the wastewater. Generally, in pretreatment such as acidification and anaerobic process,
ammoniation occurs, and a large amount of organic nitrogen is converted into ammonia nitrogen,
so that the concentration of ammonia nitrogen entering the subsequent aerobic treatment is
generally high, and since the effluent requirement reaches the first-level discharge standard,
Ammonia nitrogen concentration has strict requirements, so in the process selection, it is better to
choose a process with better denitrification effect.
Based on the influent water quality, effluent requirements and the above characteristics of the
project, the main treatment process of air flotation + hydrolysis acidification + contact oxidation is
adopted.
Process Introduction
Before the sewage enters the biochemical treatment, the pretreatment should be carried out first.
First, the large oil slick is removed through the grease trap, and then the large floating matter and

the suspended matter are filtered by the gutter channel, and then the regulating pool is used to
mix the water and the water. Intermittent aeration mixing of the perforated pipe in the adjustment
tank to achieve uniform water quality and prevent solid particles from precipitating. The
wastewater in the regulating tank is lifted by the submersible sewage pump and enters the air
floating pool. The SS and colloidal substances in the industrial wastewater of the air flotation and
the most of the oil are taken into the water treatment agent. The surface forms a floc which is
removed by a scraper to effectively separate the solid liquid. Then, the air floating water flows into
the hydrolysis acidification tank for acidification treatment, and the hardly decomposable
macromolecule is hydrolyzed into a small molecule easily degradable substance, thereby reducing
the pressure of the processing equipment in the subsequent step and improving the processing
capability. The natural flow of the hydrolyzed acidified effluent enters the contact oxidation pond.
The biological contact oxidation method is a biofilm process between the activated sludge process
and the biological filter, which is characterized in that a filler is arranged in the pool, and the
bottom aeration of the pool is The sewage is oxygenated or agitated, so that the sewage in the
pool is in a flowing state, so as to ensure sufficient contact between the sewage and the filler in
the sewage, and to avoid the defects of uneven contact between the sewage and the filler in the
biological contact oxidation pond. The biofilm in the biological contact oxidation pond consists of
bacterial micelles, filamentous fungi, fungi, protozoa and metazoans. In the activated sludge
process, filamentous bacteria are often the factors that affect the normal biological purification; in
the biological contact oxidation pond, the filamentous bacteria have a three-dimensional structure
between the filler voids, which greatly increases the contact surface of the biological phase and
the wastewater. At the same time, filamentous bacteria have strong oxidizing ability to most
organic substances, and have great adaptability to changes in water quality load, so it is a powerful
factor for improving purification ability.

GREASE POOL
The grease trap is a treatment structure that uses the difference in specific gravity between oil and

water to separate and remove the large suspended oil in the sewage. The structure of the grease
trap adopts advection type. The oily wastewater enters the grease trap which is rectangular in the
plane through the water distribution tank, and flows slowly in the horizontal direction. On the
floating surface of the oil in the flow, it is pushed by the oil collecting pipe or the oil scraper placed
on the pool surface. Flow into the dewatering tank into the collecting pipe. The heavy oil and other
impurities precipitated in the grease trap accumulate in the sludge tank at the bottom of the tank
and enter the sludge pipe through the drain pipe. The waste water treated by the oil separation
overflows into the drain discharge tank for subsequent treatment to remove emulsified oil and
other pollutants.

In order to stabilize the biochemical treatment, we have set up a water quality adjustment tank for
the characteristics of domestic sewage discharged from the gap. The adjustment time of the
adjustment tank is 3 hours, and the adjustment tank adopts blast aeration, that is, the water
quantity is adjusted and pre-aeration is performed. A liquid level control system is provided in the
pool.
A structure used to regulate the flow of incoming and outgoing water. It mainly regulates the water
quantity and water quality, as well as the regulation of the pH value and water temperature of the
sewage, and can also be used as accident drainage. For some reactions, such as anaerobic reaction,

treated wastewater is circulated into the dissolved gas tank. Under the pressurized air state, the air
is supersaturated and dissolved, and then mixed with the raw water to which the flocculating
agent is added at the inlet of the floating floating pool, and the supersaturation is caused by the
pressure reduction. The air is released, forming tiny bubbles that quickly adhere to the suspended
matter and lift it to the surface of the floatation tank. As a result, a sludge floating layer which is
easily removed is formed, and a heavier solid matter is deposited at the bottom of the tank and is
also removed.
The air floating pool generally consists of a flocculation chamber, a bubble contact chamber and a
separation chamber. It has the functions of forming and growing the flocculation in water, adhering
and trapping microbubbles to the floc, and collecting the air floc and water. In addition to the air
floatation tank itself, it is necessary to have other ancillary facilities combined with it, such as a
pressure drop air floatation tank, which is equipped with a pressure tank and a dissolved gas
release device.
The air floatation tank has been widely used in water purification treatment with low turbidity,
high algae, low temperature, high chroma and low dissolved oxygen. It is also widely used in
wastewater treatment in various industries such as refining, paper making, printing and dyeing.

HYDROLYZED ACIDIFICATION TANK
The basic principle of the hydrolysis-acidification process
The hydrolysis-acidification process can be derived from the analysis of the anaerobic
decomposition process of organic matter. The anaerobic decomposition of organic matter can be
generally decomposed into three stages. The first stage is the hydrolysis of macromolecular
substances or insoluble substances into low-molecular-soluble organic substances by hydrolase

enzymes produced by facultative bacteria. This stage mainly promotes the dissolution of organic
matter. Sex. The second stage is the acid production and dehydrogenation stages. It oxidizes
soluble small molecules formed by hydrolysis from acid-producing bacteria into low-molecular
organic acids, and synthesizes new cellular substances. The third stage is the further oxidation of
the second stage product to methane, carbon dioxide, etc. by methanogenic bacteria and the
synthesis of new cellular material. The refractory organic compounds are usually organic
compounds of some macromolecules, cellulose, etc. The degradation of such pollutants first
undergoes a hydrolysis process, while the aerobic microorganisms have a weak hydrolysis ability,
resulting in slow degradation of organic matter. [1] The anaerobic biological treatment utilizes the
hydrolysis-acidification stage to degrade some refractory substances. As long as the
hydrolysis-acidified microbial flora is formed, some refractory substances can be degraded. In 1967,
it was discovered that chlorinated hydrocarbons can be dechlorinated under anaerobic conditions
to decompose into intermediates that are more readily biodegradable. [2] In the hydrolysis and
acidification stage, the main microorganisms are hydrolyzed bacteria and acid-producing bacteria,
all of which are facultative bacteria, which use hydrolyzed bacteria and acid-producing bacteria to
degrade macromolecules and refractory organic matter into small molecular organic substances
and improve wastewater. Biodegradability creates favorable conditions for subsequent processing.

CONTACT OXIDATION TANK
The biological contact oxidation method is a high-efficiency water treatment process for purifying
organic wastewater by using a biofilm attached to a carrier (commonly known as a filler). It is a
biofilm method with the characteristics of activated sludge method, and has the advantages of
activated sludge method and biofilm method. Under the biochemical conditions, no matter
whether it is applied to industrial wastewater or aquaculture sewage or domestic sewage

treatment systems of various industries due to its high efficiency, energy saving, small footprint,
impact load resistance and convenient operation and management.
Biological treatment is the link after physicochemical treatment, and it is also an important link in
the whole sewage treatment cycle. Here, harmful substances such as ammonia nitrogen, nitrous

SECONDARY SEDIMENTATION TANK
The secondary sedimentation tank is an important part of the activated sludge system. Its function
is mainly to separate the sludge and clarify, concentrate and return the activated sludge. The
working effect can directly affect the effluent quality and return sludge concentration of the
activated sludge system. Large and medium-sized sewage treatment plants mostly use circular
suction flow sedimentation tanks with mechanical suction, medium-sized also adopt multi-draft
advection sedimentation tanks, and small ones adopt vertical flow type.
In principle, the advection sedimentation tank, the radial flow sedimentation tank and the vertical
flow sedimentation tank used in the primary sedimentation tank can be used as a secondary
sedimentation tank. Large and medium-sized sewage treatment plants mostly use circular suction
flow sedimentation tanks with mechanical suction, medium-sized also adopt multi-draft advection
sedimentation tanks, and small ones adopt vertical flow type. In addition to the separation of
muddy water, sludge is also concentrated, and sludge is temporarily stored due to changes in water
quantity and water quality. Since the secondary settling tank is subjected to sludge concentration,

Sewage disinfection is a water treatment process that kills harmful pathogenic microorganisms in
domestic sewage and certain industrial wastewater treatment systems. Domestic sewage and
some industrial wastewaters contain not only a large number of bacteria, but also viruses, amoeba
cysts and the like. They cannot be extinct through general wastewater treatment processes. The
ordinary biofilter in the urban sewage treatment system can only remove 80-90% of E. coli, and the
activated sludge method can only remove 90-95%. In order to prevent the spread of disease,
sewage (waste water) is generally treated by mechanical and biochemical secondary treatment,
and sometimes it needs to be disinfected. Common disinfection methods are: chlorination, ozone
disinfection, sodium hypochlorite method, chlorine dioxide method. Disinfection, etc.

2) Above offer basing on turnkey package condition.
3) Quotation terms: The above quotation is basing on FOB China terms.
4) Payment terms: TT 30% as down payment, and balance TT before shipment.
5) Balance should be paid within 30 days after production finished.
6) Production time:
30 working days on receipt of down payment and samples.
7) Above quotation basing on 380V/50Hz, price may be adjusted slightly for special power
voltage
8) All components with CE, UL, CSA, TUV certificates.
9) All machines with CE, ISO certificates.
10) Balance should be paid within 30 days since the goods ready, or we reserve the rights to resell
the goods to other customers.

Warranty and After Service
1) 10 years service life;
2) 2 years quality warranty.
3) We can train client's engineers in our factory free of charge. It means clients can sent their
engineers to our factory to study and have training course, we have rich experiences for the
training, it is a good way to make sure that client can operate and maintain our machines
successfully and for long term normal use.
4) A detail manual books will be provided for our machines, also we will make one Video CD to
show how to install and maintain the machines, the CD is the movie for the machines, it will
be the great references for client learning to maintain the machines in future operation.
5) As per client request, we can send our engineers to client's factory to install the machines and
train client's engineers, it is the best way to help to operate and maintain the machines. And
all traveling cost during for sending our engineers, including return air tickets, accommodation
etc and training fee (US$100.00 per person per day) in destination country should be on
client's account.
6) Spare parts: Free spare parts will be provided.
7) Online technology consultation.

Page 9 PROPOSAL STEPLEAD PAC-TEK Water Quality Analysis & Process Selection Dairy processing wastewater mainly comes from washing water of various equipment, ground washing water and wastewater for producing various dairy products. Dairy wastewater is a medium-high concentration organic wastewater with good biodegradability and is suitable for biochemical treatment. However, wastewater contains a large amount of SS, oil and other substances, and contains high concentrations of nitrogen nutrients. Fully in the middle. The water quality characteristics of dairy wastewater are as follows: 1. The concentration of organic matter in water is high and the pH value fluctuates greatly. The COD concentration of dairy wastewater is generally between 2000mg/L and 6000mg/L. Due to the imbalance of discharge time, the COD concentration and pH value of each period change greatly. Considering the large fluctuation of water quality and quantity, it is advisable to set a regulating tank with a longer residence time before the pretreatment in the specific design to adjust the various types of wastewater discharged in different time periods. 2. The biodegradability of water is good. The BOD/COD ratio of dairy wastewater is generally greater than 0.5, which is an organic wastewater that is highly biodegradable, and the wastewater contains substantially no substances that are highly toxic to microorganisms, and is suitable for biological treatment. The biodegradability of dairy wastewater is suitable for biological treatment. However, in the process operation, if improper care is taken, there is a possibility of sludge expansion. Therefore, in the process selection, attention should be paid to those organisms that are not prone to sludge bulking. Processing processes such as SBR, AO, contact oxidation, etc. 3. These oils degrade very slowly and adhere to a certain waste (such as waste in cheese production and cheese), which not only affects the normal operation of the pump, but may also cause sludge expansion of the aerobic system. Moreover, the oil accumulates on the surface of the aerobic tank for a long time, affecting the flocculation and sedimentation performance of the sludge and hindering the gas transmission. Therefore, in the treatment of dairy wastewater, it is necessary to pay full attention to the importance of pretreatment and degreasing. 4. The content of organic nitrogen in wastewater is high. Although the content of NH3-N in dairy wastewater is not high, it contains a large amount of organic nitrogen species, such as milk protein, which undergo ammoniation under certain conditions, thereby increasing the concentration of NH3-N in the wastewater. Generally, in pretreatment such as acidification and anaerobic process, ammoniation occurs, and a large amount of organic nitrogen is converted into ammonia nitrogen, so that the concentration of ammonia nitrogen entering the subsequent aerobic treatment is generally high, and since the effluent requirement reaches the first-level discharge standard, Ammonia nitrogen concentration has strict requirements, so in the process selection, it is better to choose a process with better denitrification effect. Based on the influent water quality, effluent requirements and the above characteristics of the project, the main treatment process of air flotation + hydrolysis acidification + contact oxidation is adopted. Process Introduction Before the sewage enters the biochemical treatment, the pretreatment should be carried out first. First, the large oil slick is removed through the grease trap, and then the large floating matter and

Intermittent aeration mixing of the perforated pipe in the adjustment tank to achieve uniform water quality and prevent solid particles from precipitating. The wastewater in the regulating tank is lifted by the submersible sewage pump and enters the air floating pool. The SS and colloidal substances in the industrial wastewater of the air flotation and the most of the oil are taken into the water treatment agent. The surface forms a floc which is removed by a scraper to effectively separate the solid liquid. Then, the air floating water flows into the hydrolysis acidification tank for acidification treatment, and the hardly decomposable macromolecule is hydrolyzed into a small molecule easily degradable substance, thereby reducing the pressure of the processing equipment in the subsequent step and improving the processing capability. The natural flow of the hydrolyzed acidified effluent enters the contact oxidation pond. The biological contact oxidation method is a biofilm process between the activated sludge process and the biological filter, which is characterized in that a filler is arranged in the pool, and the bottom aeration of the pool is The sewage is oxygenated or agitated, so that the sewage in the pool is in a flowing state, so as to ensure sufficient contact between the sewage and the filler in the sewage, and to avoid the defects of uneven contact between the sewage and the filler in the biological contact oxidation pond. The biofilm in the biological contact oxidation pond consists of bacterial micelles, filamentous fungi, fungi, protozoa and metazoans. In the activated sludge process, filamentous bacteria are often the factors that affect the normal biological purification; in the biological contact oxidation pond, the filamentous bacteria have a three-dimensional structure between the filler voids, which greatly increases the contact surface of the biological phase and the wastewater. At the same time, filamentous bacteria have strong oxidizing ability to most organic substances, and have great adaptability to changes in water quality load, so it is a powerful factor for improving purification ability.
