Lighting Firstwhenwalkingintothe dramastudio
youmust checkif all 10 Fresnel light isin
the rig.

youwill needtolocate where thatlightisand
reattach itto the rig. Spare lightsare locatedat the
back of the hall.
Secondly checkif all the lightsare rigged
the correct way up.You can see if they
are upside downbyhowthe knobof the
Fresnel will be onthe bottom.
If you have tickednothenthe solutionwouldbe to
getthe ladderandclimbupto the rigmakingsure
someone isstandingonthe bottomof the ladder
and undothe G-clampand the safetychainand turn
the Light soit isthe correct wayround.
Nextyouwill needtocheck througheach
lightandmake sure theyall have a G-
Clampwhichisattachedto the rigtightly
and securelysoitwill notfall down.This
iswhat a G-Clamplookslike.
If you have tickednothenyouwill needtofinda G-
clampwhichare locatedat the back of the hall and
put itthroughthe handle of the lightthenattachit
to the rig and tightlyfastensothatit isnot loose

2. Nextyouwill have tocheckthroughall
lightsandmake sure theyall have a
SafetyChainattachedtothemwhichis
thenattachedsecurelytothe rig.This
safetychainwill alsoneedtobe not
wrappedaroundanywiresfromthe light.
This iswhata safetychainlookslike.
If you have tickednothenyouwill have tolocate a
Safetychainwhichcan be foundat the back of the
hall and thenattach itround the handle of the light
and thenroundthe rig to ensure thatit will notfall.
Nextyouhave to make sure that all light
that containany Barn doorsare placed
and attachedcorrectlyso thattheycan be
usedproperlyandwill notfall. The Barn
doorshave to be attachedbyhavingall
three clipssecuresandnotloose.Thisis
whatbarn doors lookslike.
If you have tickednothenyouwill have toget the
ladderswhichare foundat the back of the hall and
re-attachthe barn doors byclippingall three clipsin
securelysothatit isn’tloose.
Nextyouhave to make sure that all light
that containany Gel Framesare placed
and attachedcorrectlyso thattheycan be
usedproperlyandwill notfall.The Gel

re-attachthe Gel Framesbyclippingall three clipsin
securelysothatit isn’tloose.

3. Frameswill containagel that will have to
be cut to the rightsize andshape
dependingonthe lightandalsohave to
be attachedby havingall three clips
securesandnot loose.ThisiswhatGel
Frame looks
like.
Nowyouwill have tocheck if all of the
light’slampholdersare shut.Therefore
the wiresandcable and electricmagnetic
circuitwill notbe loose andtherefore will
not create a hazard.
If this isa no then shutthe lampholderandmake
sure it issecure so itwill notopenat un wanted
timesagain.
Lastlybefore goingovertothe lighting
deskand dimmercheckif all plugsfrom
the lightsto the socketare pushedinand
not looselyopen.
If you have tickednoyou needtogeta ladderthat
are locatedat the back of the stage and pushthe
plugsintothe socketscorrectlysothat it will not
create a problemwithinthe circuit.
Nowyouneedto go overto the dimmer
desksandstart patchingwhichiswhen
youmake sure the plugscorrespondto
the lightingnumberforexampleplug5
If theyare not correspondingyouwill needto
change the dimmerto the correct plugon the board
so that theycorrectmatch and therefore all the
lightsare correspondingtothe dimmerdesk.

Nextyouwill needtogoto the back of
the deskand checkif the DMX cable isin
and connectedfromthe desktothe
dimmer.Thisiswhata DMX cable looks
like.
If this isnot connector isevenmissingyouwill need
to go and locate a cable whichwill be foundinthe
techniciansofficeinalabelledbox andreattachit
throughthe DMX cable connectioninthe backof the
deskwiththe DMX cable inputinthe back of the
dimmerbox.
Nextpluginthe 32 Ampplugfrom the
dimmertothe powersource and turn on
at the wall youwill knowif youhave
successful turnthe poweronbecause the
dimmerdeskwill lightup.
If this doesnotworksource for technical helptosee
if the fuse inthe Ampiswiredwrongand if there is
internal problemwithinthe plug.

5. The 32 Amppluglookslike this.
Nextyouwill needtoplug inthe lighting
deskto the socketand connectitto the
powersource thenat the back of the
lightingdeskyouwill needtoswitchiton
by the powerbuttonwhichlookslike this.
You will knowif youare successful
switchingitonbecause itwill lightup.
If this doesnotworkthenthere will be something
wrongwiththe fuse inside the plugof the lead
therefore youwill needtogettechnical helpoff a
qualifiedpersontorewire the plug.
Thenon the deskyouneedto turnthe
grand masterswitchupto 10. The grand
masterfaderlookslike this.

6. Thenturn fadersA and B onby moving
each of themto the number10. These
faderslooklike this.
Thenmove the channelsonthe faders
from1 to 6 up inturn to turnon each
lightindividual tosee if everythingis
working.These fadersinthe six channels
looklike this.
If the lightsdonot turnon younow have
to checkthrough a multiple of things.
Firstlyyouhave to checkif the fuse isnot
workingonthe dimmers
If this isnot workingyouwill needtofindtechnical
helptore wire the fuse tomake sure itis working
correctlyinthe plug.
Nextcheckif the lightispluggedintoan
extensionleadbefore connectingtothe
If so finda newextensionleadwhichislocatedin
the technician’s officeatthe back of the hall ina

7. Afterrunningthroughthischecklist,if still the lightare notworkingyouwill needtofindaprofessional technicianshelpforfurtherexaminationof the rig.
Alsothe problemthatcouldoccur wouldbe the hygienicandcleaningmaintenance of eachlightindividuallythereforeaftereveryothermonththe lights
shouldbe properlycleanedandrecheckedtoreduce furtherdamage tothe lights.
