1. Step1- You nowneedto checkwhetherthere are 10 CCT fresnelsriggedtothe lightingrig.Tosee
whatlightthisis,referback to yourDrama StudioInventorywhere youwillfindapicture of a CCT
frenel.If there are CCTfrenelsmissingfromthe lightingrigthenyouwill findthese lightsatthe back
of the hall onthe lightingrack.Climbupthe ladderandrigthe lightmakingsure thatit isthe right
wayup and there isa safetychainattachedto it. Isthere 10 CCT fresnels?
Step2- You must checkthat all of the lightshave asafetychainattachedthemas theydo not have
extrasafetyif theywere tofall out.If theydo not have a safetychainattachedto them, theyare
situatedatthe backof the hall attachedto a hook.Climbupthe ladderandattach the safetychain
aroundthe rigand throughthe handle of the light. Do all lightshave safetychainsattached?
Step3- You must checkthat all of the lightsare all the rightway up,to know this;you shouldcheck
that all of the adjustingknobsare onthe bottomof the lightwhentheyare rigged.If theyare not
and are ontop of the lightyoushouldclimbupthe ladderandturn the lightthe rightway,
rememberingtoattach the safetychainback ontothe lightif takenoff. Are all lightsthe rightway
up?
Step4- You shouldcheckthat all of the CCT frenels have gel framesattachedtothem.Tocheckthis
youwill needtoclimbupthe ladderand findthe gel frame inthe slotat the frontof the lightbut
behindthe bulb.If alightdoesnothave a gel frame thenyouwill be able tofindone at the back of
the hall on a hook.You shouldalsocheckthe framesare inthe right way,if notput themthe right
wayas theycouldfall outor evenmeltthe gel. Doall lightshave gel framesandare theyin properly?
Step5- You shouldnow checkthat the DMX isconnectedtoa maininorderfor the lightingdeskto
turn on.If there isno DMX cable thentheyare situatedinthe technician’sofficeatthe back of the
hall.
Step6- Checkyour dimmerpack.There will be 12 plugsand the lightsinthe rigwill be numbered1
throughto 16 althoughthere are only10 lightsthatare actuallyrigged. Make a note of whatnumber
lightsare riggedandsee if these lightsare pluggedintothe dimmerpack.If not,plugthe right
numberedplugsintothe dimmer.A picture of a dimmerisonthe Drama Studioinventoryif youdo
not knowwhata dimmerlookslike.
Step7- You shouldnowturnthe lightingdeskon.If the deskdoes notturnon, checkthat the DMX is
connectedtoa main inorderfor the lightingdesktoturnon. Whenthe lightingdeskison,turnall of
the channelsoninorder forthe lightstoturn on.
Step8- If a lightdoesnotturn on,take the lightdownandcheck forany faultsonthe cable and
inside of the light.If itisa faultthat you cannotfix thenswapit foranotherone that issituatedon
the lightingrackat the back of the hall.If you needtoswapthe lightthenmake sure thatthe safety
chainis attachedand that the lightisthe rightway up.
If you are notsure of anything, checkwitha technician. Andif there isanythingthatisnotworking
or has broke,please letatechnicianknow sotheycanfix it.
